ColumbusOHGamer
I need your help! Below is the list of Vehicles associated with each mod. Multiple names means more than one vehicle for that set of .BMPs I know the list is not 100% correct. I need you modders to review the list and if you see something that is not correct, please post a message and let me know. This will help speed up the recovery process. leakyD
COG- Sincerest condolences for all you're going through. If it's any help , all of Sept was a bad month for me! As for CMMODS and it's effect on the community, well, this is the price we pay for having all our eggs in one basket. Redundency is a good thing. ...and hindsite is 20/20. I think it's time to back up all my systems! [ October 04, 2003, 12:15 AM: Message edited by: leakyD ]
carlrender
COG I can help you with some of this: SOVIETS 1)Separate BA20 from BA6/BA10 2)BT2, BT5M33, BT5M34 should each be separate 3)BT7M37 & BT7M-M39 should be linked (shared bmp's) 4)MG Carrier should be linked with the Malaxa but not the CV33 or CV35 5)The Valentine III should be separate from the other Vals. Otherwise Soviets look OK. HUNGARIANS 1)H39 shares bmp's with Romanian R35 only 2)Hetzer shares bmps with German Hetzer 3)Marder II shares bmp's with German Marder II 4)Toldi I is separate from Toldi II & III 5)Turan I & I Late share bmp's 6)Turan II & II Late share bmp's 7)Zrinyi & Zrinyi Late share bmp's 8)PSW222 is separate from Csaba 9)Ansaldo CV35 shares bmp's with Italian CV33 only Hope this helps.

Flesh
I've been away from the forum for a few days. I've only just found out what happened to your site. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck. Anyway, with regard to the unit list, it looks like you have the original unit list and you are trying to recover the changes that were made to it. Try checking the original thread on the subject: http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=008581;p=1 Also, I'll just add my original reply from that thread. ------------------------- 1) There's no entry in the unit list for the Pz IV G (early). 2) There's an entry called "Pz IV J - Pz IV G (late)". This would seem to imply that these two tanks share textures. While this may have been the case in the past, it is not the case in CMBB 1.03. 3) There's an entry called "Pz IV F2 - Pz IV G". Again, as above, these tanks do not share textures in CMBB 1.03. 4) There's an entry called "SPW251/1 - SPW251/17 - SPW251/21 - Sd Kfz 251/1" and another called "SPW251/17 - SPW251/21 - SPW251/1". These two are basically the same, but with the vehicles listed in a different order. Also, the "Sd Kfz 251/1" on the end of the first entry appears to be redundant, as I assume that the "SPW251/1" and the "Sd Kfz 251/1" are the same vehicle. -------------------------
BeauCoupDinkyDau
Damn COG, it's been really rough on you of late man!! Well, my wife just beat a breast cancer scare no too long ago (she had it, but it was inactive and removed), and my world started to fall apart because I had no idea what I was going to do without her, so I know what you are feeling right now. As for the site, we love it, but you get the more important things in life taken care of for yourself before you worry about all of us and the future of CMMOS. We'll miss it for sure, but we understand your situation. Buck up. Karma always is in balance, so there are good things in store for you and your wife in the future!! My wife and I will keep you in our thoughts.

ColumbusOHGamer
Monday, October 6th Update Good News: - My server is back up - The security is stil intact so no need to recreate user ID's - I was able to recover my email and most databases (except those listed below ) - I was able to recove the design (but not data) of CMBB Mods database Bad News: - All CMBB and CMBO mods were lost in the Great Server Crash of 2003 - My ISP (WOW Cable) has my IP address all screwed up Yes, I said it. All the mods were lost. I can't say how sorry I am about this. Turns out the original hard drive was trashed. I can't even plug it in as a second drive because it won't start up properly. My goal is to have things up and running this week. I still have 90% of the final CMMODS design and with the help of the modders (u/l'ing their mods), things should be back in business shortly. Again, I wish this hadn't happened, but it did. I'll get things going as soon as I can. Thanks for being patient. COG

A bad thing for a good one but you don't have to be sorry Reading this thread, it appears that many guys here have a HUGE quantity of mods, which could be reloaded on your new server. Anyway, this big crash is not serious compared to the health of your wife. All the best to her PS : I have promised to donate something, like many gentlemen here, via Paypal. It's not a lie
Major Minor
are you only offering to COG, or does this extend to ALL of us with too-much-time-on-our-hands CMBBers? Zimorodok Hello Zimorodok! I don't want to hijack this thread, but it's funny you mention it, actually, because I was thinking how cool it would be to find folks positions using chat rooms such as this as a sourcing method. I'd love to see if I could help you, or any other folks out there, out in securing employment. If you can't count on the fellow in the foxhole next to you, who can you count on, right?

ColumbusOHGamer
MORE GOOD NEWS I've decided to upgrade the server to the latest version of software (blame it on Dorosh! ) It has a lot of new things that can help speed up indexing and such, although you probably won't notice it. It will, however, give me the chance to upgrade the design a little more than what it was in the past. I probably won't make any design changes until things are running normally again. My first priority is to get the CMBB and CMBO databases back up so you guys can reload your mods. Then, in a few weeks, I'll be able to upgrade/clean up the design with the new version. What would be soooo much harder to replace is the service: the database design etc. If you have that back, I'm over the moon! I hope things work out as well, even better, for your wife. Don't forget to let us know. Is your email address back: are you ready for Paypal yet? GaJ.
