Taking down KV2s

Recommended Posts

I was trying to take down some KV2s with PIIIS, STUG Bs, and a couple of PZ1s, and had varied success. Anyone care to tell me if the sheer terror effect of bouncing 8 rounds a minute of the shells is modelled into making the crew bail out, even if penetration is not possible? At the very least I would expect bleeding ears!!

Grum

Yes...last night I was playing around with this very thing. Got a gun damage on the KV in the first hit, so the tank was defenseless. My PIIIJ moved up and repeatedly fired for 5 turns. Result:

The PIIIJ paniced twice (from the inability to kill the monster).

The KV crew abandoned after 5 turns.

A while back I played a massive armor only qb vs the AI. Pz38s & Pz2s. I literally had a whole company of Pz38s blasting away at 1 KV.

Salvo # 1 = 12 hits, 1 mobility hit, 1 dead Pz38

Salvo # 2 = 13 hits, 1 gun hit, 1 dead Pz38

Salvo # 3 = 14 Hits, KV crew bails, is MGed, dies.

Massed , close range fire.

How one gets close, is the point of the exercise
