zappsweden
RULES FOR THE SC WORLD CHAMPION LADDER SIGN UP: Sign up by replying in this topic. Example: "player xxx signs up to the ladder" RETIRE: Retire by replying in this topic. Example: "player xxx retires from the ladder" NAMES: Your forum name and ladder name must be the same. A GAME: All games are TCP/IP games based on the 1939 Fall Weiss scenario with the latest patch (1.06). The standard rules apply i.e fow on, all options on except siberian wars. Random politics on. Cash handicap levels apply according to the following bid system. THE BID SYSTEM: The bid system for games in this ladder is the newly invented "UK+USA+Russia cash handicap system". UK+USA+Russia System: The handicap level is a cash amount bonus for those THREE countries EACH. The highest bidder gets Axis and the other player gets Allied with the cash bonus level added to UK AND USA AND Russia. Example: Player A posts on the opponent forum: "SC ladder game" Player B replies "I bid 100 MPP. Player A replies "accepted" (ofcourse he could have raised the bid instead). Player B will get Axis since he bid the highest bid. The host (either A or modifies and saves a new scenario (based on the 1939 Fall Weiss scenario) so that USA gets 100 MPP bonus AND UK gets 100 MPP bonus AND Russia gets 100 MPP bonus. That means that the HOST will 1) Start the campaign editor 2) Open Campaign (1939 Fall Weiss.cgn). 3) Edit campaign data by setting the UK+USA+Russia MPP on the bid level (in this case 100 MPP). 4) Saving the scenario as "handicap", "test" or something. 5) The host starts SC TCP/IP and picks the newly created scenario. If no player wants to bid or only bids 0 MPP the game can be played with the original 1939 Fall Weiss scenario instead i.e no campaign editor will be needed. Axis DOW USA rule: Axis may NOT declare war against the USA since a bug will then robb the USA of their cash handicap bonus. If Axis declares war against USA they have lost and Allies can claim the win. Why would Axis declare war against USA anyway? THE RANKING SYSTEM: If a player beats a higher ranked player they will change place in the ranking, but a player can never advance or lose more than 4 places in one game. The ranking list is changed so that the loser get downgraded first and then the winner gets upgraded. Exception, the Champion (ranked 1) and his opponent will NOT be affected by the ranking system if the opponent is ranked 6 or worse. This is because the players number 2-5 are the challengers and only THEIR games against the champion are CHAMPIONSHIPS. Example: player A (ranked number 3) loses against player B (ranked number 13). Player A will go down to rank 7 and player B will go up to rank 9 CHAMPION/CHALLENGER/REST OF PLAYERS: When both challengers and other players want a game against the champion then the challengers should have the priority. Also, the Challengers on rank 4 and 5 should feel an obligation to let some of the highest other players (rank 6, 7, 8, 9) to have a shot at getting up to the Challenger status. REPORTING A GAME: The loser reports with a reply here on this topic. example: GoodGuy (Axis) won against BadGuy (Allies) with a 50 MPP handicap level. COMPLAINT: If someone forgets to report a game then remind him. If that does not help then post a complaint. UPDATES: I will update the ranking whenever I want to, but propably on a weekly basis or more often. INACTIVITY: Any player that does not do at leist one ladder game every new month will lose 5 places in the ranking system. This ladder started in Januari so when February begins, inactive players will be degraded. LOST OF CONNECTION: Ending your turn when the opponent has inactive window might cause lost connection. If u experience lost connection you should use a confirm system before ending your turn. Send a colon ":" and let the opponent reply before you end the turn. SeaWolf_48
YOUR DOING A GREAT JOB ZAPP, keep up the good work! Why would Axis declare war against USA anyway? Actually Germany did declared war against the US on Dec 11, 1941. but that's not what is best for this game. The why of Germany declaring war, Hitler thought that the weak Americans infected by Roosevelt and his Jewish friends would crumble under Axis willpower. But not in his wildest dreams did he understand the resolve and ecomonic power that the Arsenal of Democracy would yield against him.

Iron Ranger
Iron Ranger (allies) lost to Terif (axis) with a bid of 100MPPs Nothing fancy - made a mistake and Terif just pounded and pounded - interesting info - the suez loop seams to have a limited number of hexs that it can place units into - if these are full it sends the unit back - it doen't try the next turn - not play tested so not 100% sure

Terif
Waltero: I was Allies and put everything in tech: In the 3rd or 4th turn (after Ireland) I had my first 2 chits in long range and very soon 5 chits. We played ~30 turns, I ended up with Long range Lv 3, thats really not very much for perhaps 15-20 turns research with 5 chits... ( in jets I had 3 chits and got Lv2)
