ADAman
Some quick and dirty Excel work (and some eyeballing) reveals the following (as of the days of the post - some people have had birthdays by now): Junior Member avg age = 36.0, S.D. = 11.9 Member avg age = 34.3, S.D. = 10.2 Composite avg age = 34.6, S.D. = 10.7 Youngest Junior Member = 13 (Solid Snake) Youngest Member = 14 (Bog, Capt Canuck) Oldest Junior Member = 72 (Lord Raglan, honorable mention to Whizkid, 69) Oldest Member = 65 (rwwald) ------------------ Air Defense: Shoot 'em down, sort 'em out on the ground (AKA - if it flies, it dies)

Firefly
So the average Junior Member is older than the average Member. I'm even more confused now than I normally am.

ADAman
von_M had it right. Standard deviation is a measure of central tendancy which is a high handed way of saying how spread out the data points are. Statistically, about 68% of the data points should be within +/- 1 S.D. of the mean. Using the CM data, it says about 2/3s of the players (more correctly those that responded to the poll - never know when a nitpicking statistician is out there) are between the ages of 24 and 45. ------------------ Air Defense: Shoot 'em down, sort 'em out on the ground (AKA - if it flies, it dies)
