Wow, I think you have the record! Have you noticed that it is the young guys who complain about getting old, while we old guys are having a ball and getting better all the time like good wine!

I have to say I don't much like the term "Old Farts". Here are some alternate suggestions:

Golden Grognards

Wargaming Lifers

Fully Mature Wargamers

Wise Old Veterans

Old Faithfuls

Keepers of the Flame

Old Soldiers Who Never Die

Living Monuments of Wargaming

Henri: They all sound good to me. Here are a few more:

Golden Years Grunt

Retirement Retread

Toothless Tankman

Viagra Volunteer

Can you help me? I'm on vacation at my son's and, of course, brought my CM disk with me. But when I instal it on his machine and try to play, I get error messages. Regards

Al Strachan

Well, you get the idea...

Maybe the thread is keeping me alive biggrin.gif

Tremble, tyrants and you perfidious opprobrium of all the parties,

Tremblez! your parricidal projects finally will receive their prices!

But these sanguinary despots, But these accomplices of Berli,

All these tigers which, without pity, Bauhaus the centre of their mother!

We will enter the career When our elder is not there any more,

We will find there their dust And the trace of their virtues

For grogdog and any other old time computer gamers out there these are the 2 sites I use to get old C64 and Apple IIe games and emulators:

ftp://arnold.c64.org/pub/

ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/

You can also do a search using Dogpile.com or another simlar search engine using 'C64 emulator' or 'apple IIe emulator' as your search criterion.

Happy gaming

Victor

Geezertruppen. That, Marlow, is a real gas. Almost split my sides laughing.

At 53, I have officially joined the Rommel Club, since he reached that age before self-expiring. BTW, I ain't opening the door if I see a German staff car pull up in front of my house.

On the bright side, I can never die young. And all the younger folks out there can only hope to be where I am now someday. As my uncle used to say, "The only people older than me are dead."

Geezertruppen. YES!!

Lol -- "shuffleboard commandos" is my favorite...

Just thought I'd add my lurker-self to this list, 27.

BTW -- I hear you 20's guys when you talk about feeling outta the loop. Hopefully I'll follow in some of your wise footsteps and have my fear/anxiety of aging dealt with by my 30's and just enjoy my kid self!

(Love CM by the way, I used to fantasize about a game like this when playing text-based games on an HP 125 back in 1980)

P.S. To whoever mentioned Jane's Addiction, I hear ya!

Der Alles Heimers . . . . Ouch . . . that's shaving it a little too close! But that's very funny anyway.

Guest Michael emrys

57 two days after last Thanksgiving.

I didn't feel out of the loop until I hit 34, then the ground fell away beneath me and I came to in Seaside, Oregon. Don't ask. Happily I'm somewhere else now.
