Dead soldiers keep calling out incoming artillery

OMG wow that's pretty wild.  Spooky even.  So, there is artillery coming down - but no English speakers alive near by - correct?

Do you have a save?

Yes, I have a save. Had a strange feeling I'd be asked for one ;)

Will send it with the other file about the bridge.

The thing is, you might have to rewind and replay the turn a couple of times, as usually you only hear the Germans. Then suddenly, you hear those voices from beyond the grave...

Will do.  I know the sounds are not baked in to the turn so rewinding changes things.

Edited cause that sounded kinda harsh and it's not meant to be.

Most of the time I don't really care but now and then something cool happens right when the voices are perfect and I wish I could record it but rewinding ends up spoiling it.

Not spooky, it is  because those men are not dead. The men you are referring to are men who have a red X. That's normal. You do know incapacitated soldiers can still talk right? These are men that are heavily wounded to the point that they can no longer fight or move. They can also be healed but need medical assistance or will turn into a skull and crossbone. I don't know how long you have to wait. Some soldiers I have healed quickly went right back to their fighting group but listed as wounded, if your super quick enough.

From manual,

Seriously wounded soldiers (red soldier base) can be given first-aid by their
comrades, which is called “Buddy Aid”. There is no Command for this action,
rather it happens automatically when a friendly soldier (regardless if he is
from the same squad or not) is moved close to the location of an incapacitated
comrade. Depending on the situation (incoming fire etc.) the soldier
may decide to treat the wounded man. The word “medic” is displayed in the
status field. The player can abort the treatment at any time by giving the
parent unit that the medic belongs to any kind of Command. The medic may
decide to abort the treatment himself as well if there is significant incoming
fire.
Once treatment for a seriously wounded soldier is complete, the wounded soldier
will disappear from the Game Area.
Note: Seriously-wounded (red base) soldiers who have not
received “buddy aid” (i.e. disappeared) by the end of the
game have a 25% chance of becoming KIA in the final
tally.
Dead soldiers (brown soldier base) can also receive “Buddy Aid” (by moving a
friendly soldier close to the location), but all it does is reclaim their ammo
and weapons, if possible. “Aid” to dead soldiers is pretty quick.

Condition (friendly and enemy): if the player keeps his percentage of wounded,
incapacitated and routed soldiers below this percentage, or pushes the enemy
above another percentage, he is awarded the respective victory points

My understanding of casualties is that there are three types: Brown base = dead (KIA)  Red base = incapacitated wounded (WIA)   Yellow base = walking wounded.

You can buddy aid dead (brown base) to retrieve some types of gear and ammo.  You can do the same for incapacitated wounded (red) base and also keep them from becoming dead and effecting the KIA count on the AAR screen.  They never return to the fight.  The yellow base are light wounds and they continue to fight but with certain soft factor penalties.  (I've noticed when on a long Quick movement a yellow base will fall behind his teammates.)

I don't know if BFC intended for incapacitated wounded (red base) to be able to yell out while they are laying about or not.  Obviously the dead (brown base) should be dead quiet ;).

well maybe they yell to warn their friends.  I think they should yell medic or help sometimes. I noticed troops in the process of surrendering with hands up do it always though it was boosting morale if his troops were in communication range, maybe not.
