Michael Emrys Posted October 15, 2016 Share Posted October 15, 2016 It is definitely debris. I have never seen a bipod on a carbine nor read of one. Furthermore, it is hard to imagine anyone finding one desirable. The carbine was mostly a (relatively) short-ranged sidearm intended for personal protection, kind of an extended range pistol. It was designed to be lighter and more handy than a Garand and the addition of a bipod would only tend to defeat those goals.
