Mord
When we get around to doing another game engine we will, for sure, not be using OpenGL. Steve I know this is waaaay in the future but when you do that does that mean we start all over again or do the games get upgraded to the engine (I HOPE). Battlefront.com
Unity. Not only does it run on both MacOS and Windows, but also iOS and Android. Steve
AstroCat
Yep, Unity is the one. And can we at least cover the black borders with a texture even if we can't have more UI features down there?
LukeFF
Unity. Not only does it run on both MacOS and Windows, but also iOS and Android. Steve I just had a look at some Unity engine screenshots, and it indeed does look good.

A Canadian Cat
Unity. Not only does it run on both MacOS and Windows, but also iOS and Android. Thanks - very cool. Rocky Balboa
Definitely using an engine like unity would make life easier especially if you are targeting multiple platforms. As with any decision there are tradeoffs, having to pay royalties and less flexibility having to work within the limitations of that engine. I suspect CMT was done using unity and if so then BF already has a good proof of concept.
Battlefront.com
CMT is a Unity based product. Charles did take a look at Unity back in 2005 but found it was too "immature" at the time. More suited to 3D shooters than what we needed. But now? Totally different. Steve
:FI:Macca
Thanks for the answer, Steve. Looking forward to the changes sometime in the future. Cheers, Mac
