160 000 WW2 photos from Finnish defense forces

Recommended Posts

Yep, this is not an exactly right forum for this post but I think there might be someone interested to see these photos (if this has not been posted here earlier).

Finnish Defense Forces openend a while ago a web site where they released about 160 000 photos from the WW2, most of the photos published never before.

Full archive can be found here http://sa-kuva.fi/neo?tem=webneoeng

and few selected ones here http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2013/05/finland-in-world-war-ii/100519/

On the larger scale the Finnish front was minor theatre but as a Finn it would be nice to see one day a Finnish front module or two to be released for the eastern front titles. Market for that would be quite minimal compared to the more popular titles so hopes are not high but you can always have a dream :)

Interesting thing is that there is lots of series of images from certain event, not just random photos from here and there. For example this one http://tinyurl.com/ldyjzf9 taken in Tali-Ihantala, the biggest battle in the Nordic history. That was taken from the firing position of an 75mm at-gun and the effect it has done to a t-34. Following is lots of photos from that particular battle
