Currently its Three Elephants including the HQ vehicle in a platoon, or 4 Sturmpanzers including the HQ vehicle. In Gustav Line the Elefant is a special case. JasonC Posted February 24, 2013 Share Posted February 24, 2013 They both actually used the Tiger layout of 4 vehicle platoons, 3 such platoons to a company plus an HQ section with 2 additional vehicles, making 14 per company. Three such companies to a battalion plus 3 command vehicles, making 45 in a full battalion. That's TOE of course. Some vehicles not actually running on any given day (or not having enough left even in theater, ND's case) would cut into it. Puts a land lubber's "Maus" to shame - 30 years earlier. It is rather heavier and all, it is true... And a fine looking ship it is too.
