I recall reading Ken Tout's books on his tank service in Normandy and beyond. That was a while ago though.

Something I just noticed in the F&R TO&E (probably discussed already, if so my apologies) is
German Support
- Self Propelled Infantry Gun Section (Heavy)
- Self Propelled Infantry Gun Battery (Heavy)
- Heavy Cruiser Battery (Prinz Eugen)
- Heavy Cruiser Battery (Emden)
- Heavy Cruiser Battery (Leipzig)
- Destroyer Battery (1936A)
- Destroyer Battery (1936B)
- Destroyer Battery (1936C)
A bit of naval support should be fun if you're on the right side of it. So far I've used it to great effect in Sicily, and suffered badly from it in Normandy.

Is this the great @kohlenklau of the awesome winter mods for CMRT! Great job! I have an install that is dedicated to your winter mods. Gorgeous.
+1 to this.
As mentioned a while ago, the FI 'Wacht am Rapido' campaign by @kohlenklau is also a fine piece of wintery work.

No. Because that possible last Beta hasn't arrived yet. And there is no guarantee it will be the last once it does.
Liking the updates all the same

Really? When I was writing that up I almost said that I remember one of the releases was hours, not days or weeks. But I couldn't recall if it really went down that way or if it just my perception. I guess it really did go down that way.
So it could be tomorrow then?
If not that's fine, I'm already busy at Studienka, and in the bocage, and on the Cherbourg peninsula, and have another Normandy battle to fit in. Apologies to anyone who I'm letting down with my slow play

No worries and welcome.
So you mentioned WW2 is a preference (same here until such time as Cold War converts me).
I was quite late to the CM party, but when I eventually found CM I was thinking East Front or West? I was East by preference in other games, so got RT first (after trying the demo, which was great). But shortly afterwards I couldn't resist BN (after again trying the demo). Both of these titles have lots of content, whether stock or free downloads, which to me is an important point as the additional scenarios, campaigns, mods, maps etc. add a lot. Then FI and FB naturally followed
.
Add that to the forum here for help, discussion, argument, opponents if you want them and it's all good. There is criticism of the forum at times but not from me.
Anyway, I would just pick a title and go for it, you won't regret it.
Disclaimer : I don't work for BFC

They have had several weekend releases.
It's always good to have some sort of release on the weekend. Ooh err.

but 2 months?
There was a major element still not ready (Partisan facial hair or somesuch), but now it is ready and the final polish is being applied.
Nothing wrong with facial hair by the way, as your fine portrait shows...

I'd like to know more about the scenarios and campaigns before I buy
I think that's a fair proposition. However, I just tried the demos (at least the RT and BN ones) and I was good to go.
My order of buying so far, and I'm not finished yet of course: RT, BN bundle, FI bundle, FB, F&R pre-order.
Order in terms of how much 'stock plus additional' content: I would guess at BN bundle, RT or maybe FI bundle (it has a lot), FB
My own order of how much I've played: RT and BN mostly, FB quite a bit as I have a fondness for it which I can't quite explain, FI not so much but if I didn't have the others that would be different.
Anyway, that probably doesn't help as much as a full content list would

flak towers in Berlin
We had some discussion of these here:
I don't think we'll need to avoid them in F&R however.

Unless anything has changed, as per Elvis' announcement:
Oh and welcome!

Looks great, downloaded and will try in every title I have
. Thanks!

Our friend is often off on a tangent
but that isn't a criticism.
Well yes, I do like a Panther. But,
IS2 is not an easy opponent - a cautious approach is required
.
The SU-100 is of course something to be very cautious of

Well everyone has their own experience
but this Asus has been very good. So much so that I will buy another one when I feel the need, which I don't at the moment. And that, I think, says something...

I'm running all WW2 titles on an Asus ROG laptop with an Intel i7-6700HQ and an Nividia 1060 6GB GPU and while I have to wait on loading for a short while (mod-dependent) I have no issues in-game.
I imagine your new specs will exceed this, as long as you include a decent dedicated GPU, so you should be better than good to go.
As a side note others have noted that the games use very little resources, which is a shame if better performance could be had.

release Fire and rubble already
Yes.
@BFCElvis I admire your restraint and I think there's just an angst about waiting for F&R and now CW. Once they're released hopefully we can all go back to blowing the bejeezes out of pixeltruppen instead of discussing each others' real or imagined political proclivities.
Bring on F&R and CW

Yeah... I knew that. That was why I wanted a Sdkfz 7. So we could limber an 88mm. So the 88mm models would have to be updated also to allow limbering.
It would be a good addition and okay for longer battles I think.

Using my rudimentary maths skills that's just 112 m/s
Mikey that would be 1000/11.2 so 89.3 m/s. Slow to be sure, but only if someone is watching

And I think I've watched the same Youtube videos, so believable.

88mm FLAK
As an experiment to see how long setup was for the 88 Flak (and just to play with it) I just tried to set up a QB with it. After some searching I found them in the Heavy Flak units of the Armored Infantry, and impressive they are.
They do however seem to set up fully deployed and 'static' with no limbering option? If so, there is no need for the Sdkfz 7 to tow it

It's working for me at the moment, as is the related scenario depot.
