  1. You know the difference between Lavrov and an IS2 tank? The armor of an IS2 tank is only 130mm thick.
  2. You know the trouble with defending? You need to win every time. If you are the attacker, you need to win only once. Let me think logistics, Russia receives lend and lease from China. They always like to make money.
  3. I think we get a similar period which was experienced between Israel and its Arab neighbours. 1967-1972. Russia will go back to the drawing board and start again in 2027. Five-year plans are their tradition.
  4. Cuban missile crisis. It ended as the next step was complete mutual destruction. Are we as brave today as they were 60 years ago.
  5. Playing a game about it is not much different than reading about it. The game is a form of communication. All those politicians on both sides on 6 figure salaries, journalists etc are profiteering. I feel for the boys on both sides instead of playing a game of soccer against each other they are killing each other. Their remuneration is very modest too.
  6. Things become a lot clearer now. Donbass Region means Dumbass Region and they empty prisons to get the expertise required to hot wire enemy vehicles
  7. What we call in Australia a 'D**khead'.
  8. The grenade was a design from the 50s Hand Grenade Remote. Nothing wrong with Russian equipment it depends how you use it. a little innovation like a drone goes a long way. RGD-5 - Wikipedia
  9. At 9:15- 9:30 the drone drops it bomb straight in the unbuttoned turret. BS2 will be an interesting game.
  10. You need to drop the projectile down the barrel so a play of 1 inch on each end is not much. Too early in the morning here to bother about something trivial. My example with the revolver was one measures the case diameter the other the bore diameter. As I owned these guns before I made it as an example.
  11. It depends how you measure it. It could be a little like the .38 special and .357 magnum round revolvers. Exactly the same bore diameter so you can shoot .38 special rounds in a .357 magnum revolver but not the other way around because they made the .357 magnum round longer. The difference is 60 mm less than a quarter of an Inch. The diameter of the bore is 290mm but the projectile could indeed be 230 mm. The projectile was loaded by dropping it down the barrel the reason it is called a mortar.
  12. Interesting article, yes warfare is conducted with satellite communication. The computer screen will make real warfare and artificial warfare merge into one. Will be some time before this is achieved. Instead of reading countless books knowledge can be acquired by playing games.
  13. A game we can't buy, they probably needed to polish the margins. Yes, I can split my units inside vehicles in the setup zone. Why is this not explained in the manual? Here we are accused of whining. Pathfinding also needs to be polished at the margins. This forum is about communications of how things could be improved. Not about trolling comments we don't like.
  14. I never said that what CM has in common with the military is that of a sandbox. Our panel (F5-F8 on windows) is the administration panel, I just suggest respecting it. The manual falls short explaining all the commonsense orders. This is where this forum comes in. Positioning snipers in buildings without going on balconies exposing themselves, splitting units inside IFVs and APCs are a few of them it took me a long-time trial and error to find that out. Having an Elite Unit going on a two-lane highway where one of his squads just have been wiped out while you plotted a movement through the back alleys is in my view definitely a bug. Try to explain those things to the administrators and you will soon get the reputation of being a troll. Kind regards and happy gaming.
  15. Just switch on the subtitles Settings and select English. It is not bad at all. He explains the shoot and scoot tactics of German Artillery systems provided for the Ukranian army. Time is the essence here in view of the training required in my view.
  16. Omaha beach we could make a map of that size. 0.5 km by 8 km. Real life run by a West Point graduate and a Sandhurst graduate and defended by a graduate of the Officer Cadet School in today's Gdansk. All with active combat experience. 2500 KIA on the end of the day German losses are unknown. What was achieved we would regard as tactical victory as they occupied some of the objectives. CM never made a scenario for it.
  17. Is this true? Recruiting criminals to commit warcrimes. This war enters a new low. Putin is recruiting prisoners with $3100 'bribe' to fight in Ukraine (msn.com)
  18. *SPOILERS* To play against the AI is better experienced as a sandbox exercise to produce a model of the correct tactical model. This is the case of the recon here. After 8 minutes the Soviet plan becomes clear. He rushed forward and used my first objective for an ambush position. One AFV was identified of the type SU100 it has the most advanced Soviet gun in 1945. Post War it was developed to be the main gun of the T54 T55 tanks. NATO equipped its tanks with the 105mm L7 gun to counter it this says something. Never mind the German Pzr IV is completely outgunned in a head-to-head confrontation. SU 100 is essentially a T34 with no turret. The Pzr4 will be able to outmaneuver it and the 75mm gun is more than good enough to penetrate it. The SU100 is not used in tactically the correct way it is not a tank but a mobile AT-Gun. Against a savvy human player I would probably throw in the towel. The Soviets would be better off with the T34/85. To start this battle use your scouts to find the Soviet positions. Of all the scouts 2 Squad/A team has the most situational awareness he is just not aware that the Soviet mobile unit on the right is eliminated. All the Radio Buttons are green so in a few turns you can give orders to deal with the Soviets. I found playing the game realistic like this is the most fun. I give myself the role of 1 SS Recon Btn and give orders according to the tentative contacts I have on the map.
  19. The game is very abstract in regard to communications, area fire and artillery. OK I won't tell him how to be the first one to shoot and win an engagement.
  20. Communications the first thing you need to establish is horizontal communications with your scout units and the armored Pzr IV Units. So that when you approach the Soviets each Pzr IV will have a tentative contact icon which puts the odds in their favor. You need to knock out the SU100s which will give you 1000 points enough for a win. Make sure each unit is in communications Soviets depend on brawn only their armor has radios.
  21. The Soviets got SU100 assault guns. These are not tanks the turret of a Pzr4 can swing around a lot quicker than an SU100 can turn on its axis. You need to flank them.
