  1. Yeah, so i am thinking about getting the battle pack 1 for CMBS which includes a ton of QB maps, but I am wondering if these maps come with AI and if these maps have mutiple AI plans for each side. What about master maps?
  2. Thanks will check it out Sounds even more interesting, definitely will be getting all of these eventually!
  3. You're right! I knew I missed something. CMFI was the theatre I was most interested in until I read about the rest. XD
  4. Sorry i posted a problem which I have already solved.
  5. Can someone sticky this awesome thread and maybe compile all of the Op's content into a PDF for ease?
  6. OMG I am in the exact same shoes as you, having tried out graviteam tactics and many other wargames recently. Combat mission is the one that stuck to me the most and although I just purchased CMBS which is a great game btw. I am suddenly mesmerised by WW2 and I am trying to decide between CMRT, CMFB and CMBN as my first WW2 CM game. All of which I know I'll get eventually. CMRT is unique because of the Russian faction and I am curious how operation bagration mange to wipe out the the whole German army group. CMFB is also different because of the German's final assault and it's mostly set in winter which is a cool thing to see. CMBN is the most classic I suppose and provides the most content including market garden which I am also interested in. I even went out and bought my first WW2 book, Dunkirk by Hugh Sebag and also an encyclopedia of all WW2 greatest battle. On a side note, "Snow and steel battle of the Bulge" and "Those who hold Bastogne" are great books to accompany CMFB . Here's a link to all popular WW2 books according to Amazon. Pls rec me some if u any good ones https://www.amazon.com/b/ref=sr_aj?node=5031&ajr=0 Cheers!
  7. OIC well that's quite a shame, but I am still impressed by the AI though. In other games once u played with the AI enough times, Then regardless of maps or mode, the AI will be predictable. However in this game every map/scenario has a different AI personality and always keep me guessing. It would be nice if they can improve the AI or even better, make it use dynamic AI plus the directive AI.
  8. Erm... they actually added to 32 AI groups since 4.0 engine
  9. Thanks for the info, however, I have already checked them out but i am eager to know more through AAR or other sources.
  10. Are there any articles/threads/AAR/dev blogs that can explain the AI in combat mission in detail? I am looking for something quite in-dept, as I am aware of the basic levels of AI like tacAI. operational AI and strategic AI. But I would like to delve deeper and understand it better.
  11. Are u saying that CMRT has way more scenarios in it's base game than CMFB? Who is this Paper Tiger guy? Can I check out some of his works?
  12. Thx I'll try it out, I was finding for the disable button as well. I'll give another shot!
  13. I uninstalled the reshade cause I can't stand the stand the warping menu and loading turn screen.
  14. Dear Battlefront, please make a CM game set in the pacific theatre, I NEED IT!!! Now, my only Japanese fix is the ones in men of war 2 and I can't really play that after playing combat mission. You can add a Japanese faction and reuse the US/British asset from other CM games. You can create island themed maps with beaches and palm trees and dense forest. Please make this happen. I love you!
  15. What scenario is this? Also is it possible to make an escort scenerio like this one? Also i love your AAR!
  16. Yeah the game is meant to be played in a realistic commander way, where your men will decide what to do. I appreciate what they are trying to do but personally I would love to have some control over my men and only leave them to shoot and stay in cover or react accordingly in emergencies. I posted a mini AAR on the tutorial scenario and how the AI reacted realistically to my actions .
  17. Thanks a lot, its my second AAR, the first one I did was for EVE Online You're right I almost forgot about the random AI plan, I am impressed if the devs actually placed multiple plans in training scenario since most people will only do it once. However, I still believe that the AI genuinely stopped retreating to the woods at the end since they did try to do it but failed.
  18. Hi everyone! This is not an official AAR cause I was enjoying the game too much to take screenshots during the scenario. I only managed to save after the battle ended so all the screenshots are front the end of the scenario , but I would like to share my recent experience with black sea. After trying out the Demo and playing the training mission twice (lost the first time) I noticed at the end of the game the AI retreated to the woods when i was closing in on the town. I thought that was kinda cool and realistic. After all, the logical path was to retreat to the woods. Later, after reading more about the game's AI, I was somewhat surprise that it was based on trigger and that the AI had 3 levels. strategic, operational and tactical. I believe the strategic level is the one that is trigger based. So I bought myself my first CM copy. I played through the training campaign while following the guidelines on the manual which i had printed out. In the last mission I realise that it was the same scenario from the demo so I thought I would do fine but this time I followed the manual by splitting my team and all. First, I noticed when I sent my riflemen scout near the observation post alone they were engaged by snipers from the forest, which I kinda knew was there. However, this did not happened the first time I played in the demo, and I don't quite remember what I did. I made some mistakes on the way and ended up losing my observer, HQ and and 1 squad. So I restarted the scenario again but this time I did it my way instead of following the manual. I sent one of my Bradley to to the side of the sunken road to engage the snipers which I know would shoot my guys near the woods at the observation post, but nothing happened I sent the same rifle squad to scout the woods and I got no engagement from the other side, no snipers, nothing. I sent he rest of my assault troops to assault route 1 without incident only engaging 2 squads on the way to assault route 2. By the end of this scenario, I caught the Russians retreating to the woods again just like in the demo, however this time I had 2 Bradleys near the entrance of the woods, getting ready for a massacre. Guess what, only 2 squads came out and after getting shot, the rest of them decided to stay in the buildings surrounding the chapel. They refused to come out until they surrendered, i managed to only take out 1 squad out of 4-5 that attempted to retreat back to the woods, mainly because I believe they turn back after the first two squads were engaged by my Bradleys After this, all I can say is that I am very impressed with the AI reaction to what do in the battlefield. It could just be random luck that i trigger or did not trigger certain triggers but this is the most realistic AI opponent I have seen. In most games if the AI retreats if that even happens then it will happen no matter what, even if they are running into a meat grinder, but not in CM. All that remains of the Russian forces. Made a mistake and lost a full squad, I was hoping to get full score. Some Russians who died to my Bradley flanking them from the back of the town. Bradleys are beasts!
  19. It would be nice to see this thread getting an update on newest youtube channels. i am thinking about starting a compilation thread of all active CM youtube channels in the main cmx2 forum.
  20. Yeah i really loved graviteam tactics games, i bought every one of their games on steam except for the two DLCs that came out 2 weeks ago. Yes the game is brutal and their tutorial are designed to make you lose most of the time. But their devs are always active in the forum plus their games are really cheap when compared to battlefront. I love their open terrain and epic battles which CM doesn't have but they lack in CQB or urban warfare which is what i love the most. I bought Syrian Warfare mainly because it's set in a current conflict that interests me and I can kill ISIS. Also the game is more realistic than most other RTS. The vehicles has component based damage system and if you play on realistic mode, most of the infantry will die in one or two shots. I love black sea or just modern warfare in general because of all the new cutting edge weapons like NVG, RWS, ERA and UAV. I can't get enough of them and I have Arma 3 to thank for that. I'll definitely be getting Battle of Normandy next.
  21. Definitely! Haha its now priced at Rm 4-5 but its nice to know others who know Malaysian culture I also wanted to share my shopping list for this Steam winter sale as you can see there are more than a dozen games including DLCs and some are hidden under complete edition like Syrian Warfare. All of these games total up to RM253 which is shockingly still cheaper than one CM game which is RM263. This is why it took me more than a week of contemplation before making a battlefront purchase. However I have no regrets getting black sea as its one of a kind, I even told all my Arma friends about it and how it models it so accurately as well. Now I am looking for an operational wargame that is set in the modern times but I am still having trouble finding one.
  22. I see thanks, but I am not really into board game or miniatures. BTW I finally bit the bullet and bought black sea! Hope I have no regrets!!
