Would like to see Polish forces and Brithish forces.
British would be an obvious choice, since they have that in the professional edition.

Yeah it's a weird name. Yes, it is a new system. They are hooking into the Slytherin PBME lobby system. For BFC it is the third iteration of PBME, first was the CM1 games then the CM2 games and now the Slytherine lobby. Yes, the current CM2 PBME will still work - so I have been told.
No, it is not a new system at all, it is only new to those who never looked outside the CM bubble. It is called PBEM++ (with 2 plusses), but Elvis wrote it with 3, so the question was if this already existing PBEM system going to change and get a third plus sign in its name to reflect that, or if it was only a typo from him.

The spotting depends on the vision slits, which can differ for each side of the vehicle (so asymmetrical). For example the BMP-2 with the driver and gunner alone (infantry dismounted) is basically blind directly to the right side of the vehicle because neither the driver, nor the gunner has a vision block looking on that side.
So for some vehicles spotting is not the same for left and right sides of it. Hence the test should use a full circle, not just a half.

Seems to show hull penetration on both. Do you have a save file?
I didn't save, but both Bradlyes were knocked out. From the second the crew bailed.

Cold War was due on Steam in April.
It was. But will there be a CM game before 2022?

The MG 42 however can double up as an HMG and in that role far superior.
I never understood this thinking. In my opinion a medium caliber machine gun can never become an HMG for that simple reason: it fires much less capable rounds. What makes an HMG an HMG is the stronger ammo with which you can tear down walls, shoot farther, defeat thinner armor and so on. With 7.92 you will never achieve that.

Same thing here, holding the Windows Key along with PrtScn gets me a screenshot of the main screen, so the same as Vacillator. I am running Windows 10 and not Windows 10 Pro so that must be the difference.
I know it is something to do with the programming in CM because with all my other games I can use the same procedure and get the correct screenshot.
Let me guess: you have an AMD graphics card.

Just a question what is the benefit of a radio if none of the HQ's in your formation have a radio?
You can call Papa Stalin to tell him about your day.

Targeting arcs do not increase chance of spotting inside the zone of the arc beyond:
1. Their effect on unit facing.
2. In the case of turreted vehicles, their ability to set different facings for turret vs. hull crew.
I believed the same but then I found a post from Steve:
"there is a bonus for spotting things within an Arc"
Also:
"The spotting bonus is only within the colored area of the arc. Outside of that there's no bonus."

Apparently now it's not great at all to compare CM to SB
Yeah just as I thought so, the first to bring up SB as evidence would be also the first to dismiss it if it suited him.

animating the turrets rather than abstracting it is simply beyond the scope.
Why would be this outside the scope?

Well, @Haplessdid Youtube video recently using Steel Beasts to show how hard is to spot things from AFV. This video was highly acclaimed and received good reviews, it was even used to show me that I don't understand how tank spotting works. But apparently now it is wrong to compare CM and Steel Beasts.
I remember reading this but don't know where, can anybody point me to that thread? (where this YT video was linked)

So basically just the briefing & scenario/campaign selection screens.
Nope, also the text in the unit boxes on the bottom of the screen while in battle and it is very very hard to read what kind of ammo and how much he has of that type.

They already stated that cover arcs do not change spotting in any way except it makes the unit face in a certain direction. In other words if you give a facing order you achieve the same thing.
I think I misunderstood a previous statement and there is a spotting bonus inside the colored zone.

Give the T-72 a narrow Target Armour Arc, centred on the M-60 and you might be getting a bit closer to a representative model of a firing range scenario.....I suspect the spotting times will plummet.

Hi there!
I recently bought a new PC. It works fine with CMSF2 apart a little thing.
Some written stuff looks kind of smudged.
Attached files with a pair of examples.
Any idea? Thanks in advance.
This is because the game uses an Intel GPU. If thats the only graphics card you have, then you are fokked, as theres no way to correct it, it has been a known issue.

But the G series has "occasional manufacturing flaws" that allow hits that normally would not penetrate the upper front hull to randomly penetrate. I don't the exact probability, I would guess around 10% or so.
Ah another surprise never mentioned in the manual.

This is not how spotting works in CM. Spotting is not randomized.
Obviously is not completely random, but has a random element which is quite easy to prove.
CM: GWOT?
in Combat Mission - General Discussion

Hope not, patrolling and assaulting the house of a single gunman would be quite boring in CM terms.
Mission: have a Task Unit to search a building where they find some items of interest, then comes the EOD to render safe, then some exploitation team... Yeah, boring.
