  1. Thats the way my fragments looks like in my collection from Hangö, even though mine are rusty.
  2. Although most of the fragments are smaller. Still, a non-inconvenient part is bigger, and some a lot much bigger. Now the fragments fly in all directions, so the risk of a vehicle being hit by one decreases dramatically with the distance, so does the speed of the fragments. But under an artillery barrage, a few of the big ones will hit AFV´s at somewhat close range/high speed. With a much higher kinetic energy than a .50. I have a personal collection of larger fragments from Hangö in the southern Finnish archipelago. From Russian Artillery, and mortars from WW2.
  3. Very interesting reading in the link. Thanks John.
  4. Since it will be ddr4, i will go for 3200mhz cl16. Any faster than that, and it start to be expensive fast. And to start with, only 16Gb to hold the prize down, i can add 16Gb more later on. And the system disc, and want to have 1TB of MLC, not TLC memory. For longer life. Since it probably will serve as the system disc for 5-7 years. I probably skipp a second SSD to put games on, that i can buy att a later time. I move over one, or two HDDs from the old one. Mobo will be Asus Strix 270E, soundcard Asus Rog xonar phoebus, Asus blue-ray rewriter, corsair RM850x psu, cpu cooling corsair H105, case i think will be CM storm stryker not certain yet. System disk If an M2 MLC disc, Hyper X predator or Samsung 960 pro 512GB-1TB But they are quite expensive, so maybe a regular SSD MLC Samsung 850 pro 1TB. GPU Since AMD VEGA is coming in 1-2 months time. I think i must check that one out first, it will be a 1060 6GB or a 1070 If VEGA dont performe or is to expensive. And probably a 7700K, since the entire system will be much more expensive If I go for the HEDT 6 or 8 core cpus. Well here am i, so far.
  5. And after the gasing of the theatre, the military did not tell the medics/doctors what gas was used. So they could not give antidot in time to save meny lives. In VDV there is to my knovledge only the 45th regiment which is spetsnaz. Maybe some recon units to??
  6. My current cpu, is with 1322p at around 50% of the 7700k.
  7. My estimates is that ISIS after the MOAB drop, now only have 564-764 fighters operating in the area. Although, some of them might be a little shellshocked
  8. We really do not have a budget for this. But togetter with my wife, we decided to unlock arund 2500-3000$ of our savings for this, but the cheaper the better.
  9. More info, please. What was the RAM you changed from, and to what? What is the name ov your SSD
  10. Back to real life. To create a crater 1 mile wide, you need a 60 meter big Stone from outer space, or a nuclear blast in the 3-6 megaton range.
  11. And The 1,5 mile radius of m-killed AFV's, and 2 mile raius of killed dismounted infantery?
  12. Well, that was my answer. To the same "MOAB" question!
  13. And in that case, the 3-4 times bigger Russian FOAB? Would fit perfectly in CM. One bombrun each, and its all over. (Bigger or Bigger, but according to russian sources. It contains an tnt mass, equivalent to 44 tons of it. In its thermobaric warhead. But take it with a grain of salt)
  14. In that, you have a good point. But my post really invited to a flamewar. You should not step, on anyones pride.
  15. I agree, with the last part. And I dont want to be the one that changes that!
  16. Flame bait? Im sorry If that what it looks like. Not my intention But after reading what i wrote, once again. Yes it could seem like that. My excuses, if thats what you mean.
  17. I think that wherever Russian SF, or VDV shows up. They ****up in some way. If we look at their elite, of the elite. The Alfa team. They have taken severe beatings, whereever they showup. They even had to retreat, in one of their ****edup tryes to free hostages, under heavy own losses. And in Beslan hostages crysis, they took a severe beating. With several losses, and a few hundred dead hostages. In Moscow theatre, they know that there would be a lott of dead Alfa and hostages. So they chosed the easy way, use gas to kill the terorists, and 129 of the hostages. Now for the first time they could show no own losses, and only a total of 168 dead hostages, of which "only" 129 died of the gas. And "only" 39 where killed by the terorists. By Western standards, it have to be regarded as a complete succsess....... But as Stalin once supposed to have said : One dead human, is a tragedy. A million dead, is only statistics. They do beat all Western units in shows though. Thats where they really shines. And that goes to all Russian, so called Spetsnaz (Special Forces). Their physics are probably second to none. Probably not their shooting skills either. So my guess is bad leadership, and/or bad tactics. Oh i almost forgott, thanks for the videoclips John
  18. actually i think i need HT, maybe not for CM. But i think i still go with 7700K.
  19. I think there are only a very few games, that benefit from fast RAM. But Arma 3 is one of them http://techreport.com/review/31179/intel-core-i7-7700k-kaby-lake-cpu-reviewed/11 And in most games the Bloomfield first gen I7 is as fast as a Skylake http://www.pcgamer.com/bloomfield-takes-on-skylake/
  20. Yes, only in Sweden. And we already have the world's highest taxes
  21. Bought, downloaded, unzipped, installed and played. Works like a charm
  22. Yes it is first gen I7. And its not getting thrown away. Its just going from the office, to the livingroom. To be the mediacenter there. There is a new tax on all electronics starting the first or last of july (dont remember now). So after that date, it will be much more expensive to buy a new computer. Otherwise i had probably waited another year or so. And The only other game than CM i play right now, is Arma 3. And according to techreport i will probably double my fps there, with a 7700k and fast RAM.
  23. I guess the gaming SSD have to be on standby, for the future. When my wife maybe gives a green light for it. Thanks for all your time Regards Richard
