  1. Interesting! But according to Wikipedia it uses a traditional shaped charge. " The Javelin missile's tandem warhead is a HEAT type.[7] This round utilizes an explosive shaped charge to create a stream of superplastically deformed metal formed from trumpet-shaped metallic liners. The result is a narrow high velocity particle stream that can penetrate armor." FGM-148 Javelin - Wikipedia TOW-2B Top attack missile uses an EFP warhead though. BGM-71 TOW - Wikipedia So you maybe mixed them up? Sweden was first with top attack missiles in 1988, with the BILL 1 Top attack - Wikipedia. And our joint England/Sweden missile (NLAW, MBT LAW, Dont know what you call them in UK, we call them Rb 57) use the BILL 2 warhead with 2 EFP warheads I belive? At least the main warhead is a EFP. But I would want to know if bar armor is working against EFP´s to. But since EFP is not contact triggered. BAR armor should have no effect against EFP warheads. Since they detonate above the BAR armor?
  2. I f they put sandbags on top of the bar armor, they are utterly stupid. Since bar armor is not for early detonation. Its there to shave the warhead, so it can´t produce the plasma beam. But you already know that, so why do you think they put sandbags there?
  3. Forget something that has been a long-standing tradition, for 15 years?. You don´t easily forget that! Right!!
  4. I think the New Year bone, is incomming. They unpinned thisone a moment ago. That is a sign from above, that somethings gona happen Which is very good for my left hand. Which has pressed the F5 button (To reload the page) every 10 seconds, since New Year. Except for sleeping
  5. You know. Now when Junior hockey World Championship is canselled. Its all about the Gripen vs the F-35 right?
  6. That they wantet a global spread of communism I can I agree on . And I love CMCW, and the "What if" feeling about it. You did a good job there!
  7. But I think, at the time. The Soviet looked at themselfs, in a defensive position also (Underdogs in nukes). And if NATO attacked, they would respond with nukes. If their soil were treatened, at least. That was their thought, I belive! Ofcourse that was not their "made in steel" strategy from 45-91. But I´m pretty shure, Soviet didn´t want war. If they did not see it inevintable! Well, well! We dont know! And I think we are lucky, that we don´t.
  8. Don´t know if it´s true? But Stalin is said, to have said that: One dead person, is a tradegy. A million deaths, is only statistic
  9. Take it easy Andy. Maybe the New Year bone, gives you UKR Javelins? Right mait
  10. I hope that this wasn´t the New Year bone. And that they hired @Taranis to tell us exactly nothing
  11. But since the Soviets had more of them. There would always been a few that could launch, right? And even if Western models were more soffisticated. I find it hard to belive that the numbers would have been 340-0 in kills, as you implied!
  12. A vast numerical advantige, I would say (not in terms of quality). And at a strategic level, They were behind. But trust me, that was a war with no winners anyway!
  13. What about IFV´s, and Artillery? And Subs, if we go down below? All is year dependent offcourse. Coldwar was from 1945-1991
  14. The first seven words, I completely agree with. The rest ???
  15. I´m to the bone, a true anti Soviet believer. But in the 60th, and 70th. Soviet know that they had, to have a large numerical superiority. And in "Big Mac Index" I think their numerically superior force, was not more expensive for them. And @The_Capt Hand on the bibel. Did not Nato, and the US have plans. Both for offensive, and defensive operations? In the cold war, both sides had plans for every thinkable scenario. But after the Iron Curtain falled. Some of the Warsawapacts plans came out in the light. And the ones that got most attention, is the offensive ones. War was probably close, a few times. But I think, neither side really wanted it! But at the time, we all belived that the other side wanted war. And a strong Army/Air Force/Navy, was the only thing preventing the opposit side, to make a move! I´m glad, that the trigger needed to start things, never happend. Because in the nuclear armsrace age, anything bad could had happend! Just my thoughts, and by no means any offence to you
  16. Looks like a worse version of the 15 year old Bofors 3P round, but for 120mm https://sempermiles.se/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/baes_ds_Bofors-3P_redesign_digital-8.14-1.pdf The Mk 3 stealth gun was built in our Stealth Visby-class corvette - Wikipedia Wich was the real deal! From the Smyge stealth test wessel from 1991 HSwMS Smyge - Wikipedia Sweden was an early adopter of stealth technology! And the US addapted the 57mm Stealth gun as the Mark 110 Mod 0 57mm gun on the LCS and Coast Guard wessels! https://www.navy.mil/Resources/Fact-Files/Display-FactFiles/Article/2167940/mk-110-57-mm-gun/
  17. The Russian defence minister, say that Russia have 168 battalion tactical groups, with an alert time of one hour. https://tass.com/defense/1324461 Belive it, or not. But the one hour seems a little optimistic, in my opinion.
