  1. Yeah the Russian portraits were a test; i quickly realized that the same portrait is used for both mortars and other units, which is a pity. Will definitely update in next issue. I've been bouncing around with tweaks to the modifiers, a little tricky to find a balance of colour grades. Incidentally, what's the opinion on the suppression meter? I'm debating to put it all red - ie no gradation, just an increasingly dangerous block of red. This will clash with many people's familiarity with the current green-yellow-red gradation, but iIreckon if I'm going minimal iIneed to be rigorous. We can become used to anything, if it works smoothly. I think I can enliven the Front End selection screens with a series of faint background battle scenes. Tricky to describe, but you'll see what I mean. My current brawl with @abbassid111 has some crazy **** going on, should provide some great shots! The loading screams are pretty stark alright - I believe I can add load screens endlessly, so expect new and different view angles.   2. Great feedback, thank you. I can certainly restructure the zip file into two parts, Front End and In Game. As I noted, the Front End screens still need some work. But I'm a little confused by your SPLASH screen note - do you mean the very first, front end menu & background (once loaded) - or the Loading screens once a battle is starting up? Those loading screens were deliberately designed to remove a sense of windowing, something the very front end menu BG still has to avoid. Re font, I'm testing out various fonts - iIdesperately want to replace the serif Trajan - but with what? Ah therin lies the rub.. Currently I copied the modern font that comes with BG, renamed it to the Trajan font and deleted the original Trajan file. This beats building a whole new font bmp (which I've done, but want to avoid repeating until I'm absolutely certain of my chosen stylel )
  3. Funnily, I remember reading a Rogue Trooper issue about 20 years ago that had Rogue sitting (alone) in a tank with EXACTLY the sensor system Steve suggests. He's eating/sleeping and the tank wakes him to announce it has detected and is targeting a Nort armor attack. The turret is lined with flat panel displays giving 360 external view. Blew my mind then.   5. Yup, it's a matrix of intra-support. Infantry die easy if used badly.

My understanding is that dumb rounds will always be a bit off, due to small but cumulative vagaries in the tube positioning, firing of the propellant, thickness and temperature of the air along the shell's flight path, as well as wind speed and direction. No amount of accurate observation will affect these in-flight alterations. The only way to reduce/remove these variables are with GPS rounds, and even then.... Dumb sshell Spotting rounds are there to reduce inaccuracy in the following shots - expecting them. To be accurate is a bit unrealistic. Or so I understand.
  7. I'd make the case for a modern rebuild of the quad 50. I'm. Using several Tunguska to terrible effect against @Abbasid infantry AND MBTs. As it happens We've both refrained from Air support (it seems... But he's a devious bugger so he could well have some CAS up his sleeve!). I've enough Tunguska that I can cover against air and also support my ground units. In reality, I'm sure there would be less available (we turned off rarity) but it could still be a valid tactic to use this many this close together if you absolutely, positively must blast through an urban defence line.

I've completely revised the look & feel of the in-game interface, going for a quite stark black/grey/white base with pops of colour. There are various graphical glitches to iron out (eg the support panel button highlight sequence) but it is fully functional. I've also simplified the front end sequence of screens, going for a full black background where possible. This is to remove the 'window' effect of looking at 1024 wide backgrounds floating within a 1920 wide monitor :-). There iis still a lot of refinement to do with these, especially with font style and size. My alternate loading backgrounds are also included. RUS is the only nation somewhat finished. US & UKR to follow. Currently, this mod feels like an adjustment - I need to more clearly define my core stylistic element. Font will be key here. Feedbackglitch reports/critique is welcome.   11. This is actually a very good idea. Passive 3D view would give far superior understanding of the FoV and immediate locale.

  13. This. I do appreciate letting the tank crews fight their own battles, buy it would be great if it was possible to set the Main gun arc separate from the secondary, Or Set a tank in different modes, eg, overwatch (ATGM & shell) v. Assault (shell only).

  18. Alternate loading backgrounds for CM:BS Alternate loading bar also included. I use a very large , hi-res monitor and I was tired of the itty-bitty 1024 size vanilla splash backgrounds. They feel like I'm peering through a small window. So, I worked up background images with a solid black base that blends perfectly with the surrounding frame. Et voila, (apparently) full frame loading background images! These are the original backgrounds, flopped, desaturated and resized. I am working on a Beta 2.0 of my UI mod; these will be included there. Waiting for CMMODs to upload the /rar file, will then include a link here. That file has the full set of images PLUS the alternate loading back shown above. KP
  19. This would be my one and only gripe with the stick campaign and scenarios - near perfect intelligence of the the OpFor units and intentions. I'd prefer a much less accurate sitrep, if not also one or two that are outpaced by OpFor movements. Somday I'll make such a campaign :-)
