  1. I would say these would be good/possible features for the upcoming Bulge game. Now the question is what does BFC think are "minor" improvements ? As it has been stated by Steve the Bulge game will include such "minor" gameplay improvements.
  2. Thats very rude and insulting ! What you do is basically pressure the admins to ban me...a move i think is very childish. Iam not the only one who posted slightly "off" topic stuff. Look at the requests for specific vehicles... If you hate me (for whatever reason) then put me on your ignore list and leave me alone. Oh, i already tried that with a assault rifle in my hands and a anti-tank rocket on my back... The point is, you cant compare real terrain with CM terrain and you cant compare real infantry movement with CM movement, especially all the "micro" movement like raising your head high enough to get LOS or similar. Thats why i think they need to work on this issue. The problem is that many CM maps are so small that your units will spot and "murder" the fleeing enemys anyway. What you suggested is kind of a "workaround" but still i think we need more AI features regarding routing and surrendering for a more realistic gameplay. So, i think despite the fact that many here are very rude towards me iam still behave civilized. If Steve does not want this discussion here he maybe can just exclude it into a "new" thread if this is possible with the forum software.
  3. Then you should have locked the thread right away. If its only for people posting "great" then i see no point in it staying open. With routing we mean exactly that, basically "running away, leaving the battlefield (which is the map)." That has been said about nearly every feature ever requested anyway...
  4. Then can you tells us why you think BFC should think its not worthwhile ? Currently, infantry combat is in a bad condition and full of immersion breakers like cluster ****ing beaten up enemy units at map edges waiting for you to annihilate them.
  5. This ! Combined with: Allow Broken troops to rout off the map edge in all cases if they're still running away and they hit it; if they leave from within a setup or exit zone, they're not counted as casualties;if they leave off an unmarked edge, they're MIA. Improve the TacAI so it's more aware of what's around it and can react to that knowledge. Including more surrendering when cut off, surrounded and about to be wiped out. Especially allow it to abort/reschedule script movement orders when it's being forced to run a gauntlet. This would finally improve CMx2 infantry and overall combat behavior which has been neglected since ages. Will such improvements be in the Bulge game Steve ? Really, i could not care less about new scenario packs, a few new models or texture ( and i think there are many players who think like that). What i care for are REAL gameplay improvements that enhance the way combat works in Cmx2 !
  6. Thats a good list and some of this has been pointed out numerous times since CMBN release. I hope BFC listens and will include TacAI / routing / surrendering improvements that allow a more realistic gameplay in the bulge game.
  7. @ sburke I actually only send you 2 friend requests, dont know where the other two came from, maybe i clicked accidentally or a forum software bug. And i upped your post because of your apologies. Now back to topic...
  8. @ BLSTK Please stop with the insults and the spam. ...i still hope Steve will answer my question about spotting changes in the Bulge game.
  9. So you are now the one who decides what kind of posts is allowed ? Please stop this childish behavior. What i posted was a question about a possible fix in the Bulge game, its perfect on-topic ! Because i think your post is really rude toward me (calling me a attention deprived child) i reported it.
  10. The problem i was talking about (see thread i linked) is this: In reality soldiers can stay hidden (prone), and from time to time raise their heads. In CM, if the soldiers are prone, this restricts their view (ok) but they should from time to time get the LOS as if they were standing just to simulate the ability to stay hidden while still keeping a overwatch.
  11. Ah, ok. But what womble wrote: "Ignore him, he is just a troll" is not rude ? I guess some people here can post whatever they want (be it aggressive or rude or insulting), look at the abuse Kettler is taking from some persons here...while other will get banned after being so rude and agressive to say "Who said its only about the hide command ? Its more about Spotters' posture overall."
  12. Really... Can you tell me whats aggressive about the sentence: "Who said its only about the hide command ? Its more about Spotters' posture overall." Now thats what i call aggressive and insulting.
  13. Who said its only about the hide command ? Its more about Spotters' posture overall. Anyway, found the thread: http://community.battlefront.com/topic/118489-spotters-posture/?view=findpost&p=1587905&hl=hide look at post #11 by Tux It about units going prone on their own and getting "blind"...which forces you to move them to get LOS again (pretty unrealistic). Again, will there a fix for this behavior in the Bulge game (+ Patches for the older games) ?
  14. @ Steve As far as i know there is a problem with the hide command or generally spotting. The LOS is checked from the eyes of the soldiers so if they automatically lay down it can be restricted to a point were they cant see anything. There was a thread about that but i cant find it now. Anyway, will the Bulge game fix this behavior or give us a new "ambush" command that puts soldiers into prone without restricting their LOS ?
  15. I would buy one of the Crysis games, good games and a good way to test your PC. Or "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter", its a first person adventure with stunning graphics.
  16. No, i dont. If you hate everyone who is not 100% happy with CMx2 thats your problem.
  17. What kind of question is that ? Sorry, why are you all so aggressive or abusive towards me and/or vote my posts down + put me on ignore list ? What did i do you `? Nothing !
  18. CMx2 uses only one CPU core. Anyway we cant be sure the engine will run any better with the ability to use more then one core. For example, CMx2 is the only game that uses all of my 2GB VRAM avaiable. I think there is something wrong with the way textures are loaded/used. Could relate to the long loading times too. Hope we see improvement with 4.0.
  19. The whole thing about ISIS tactical skills is overblown and mostly their own propaganda. Yes, they have a core of very skilled fighters but the Shia militias, Hezbollah and the Peshmergas have them too. They excel their foes in two fields, logistics and recruitment. They dont need to have "better" fighters, they just need to be able to mass fighters, vehicles and supporting weapons at the right time at the right place. They need to be able to have a steady flow of supplies and the ability to hide cells of fighters within enemy held town. They need to have the logistic capability to supply fighters who infiltrated enemy territory. Then, most importantly they need to be able to compensate their looses. Its already clear that they are currently able to do that. The flow of foreign fighters is still there and they seem to conscript young men and even children. If you look at how they take territory they mostly use shock tactics, striking with simultaneous SVBIED attacks and activating "terror" cells that have infiltrated behind enemy lines. Then, after they took the territory they lay IED's everywhere and leave a bunch of fighters there that are ready to die while fighting a delaying or "last stand" action while they pull out their main force. Anyway, as long as the middle east is full of surplus young men without the perspective to gain acceptable positions within society there will be war/civil-war. If you look at the birth rates some countries are already on the right way and should be much more peaceful in 25-50 year.
  20. Dude why are you so aggressive toward me ? This is a discussion board and if you start a thread boasting about the 3500€ PC you build for someone then expect questions regarding the sense behind this and the hardware used. Oh wait, i forgot...this is the sunshine happiness feel-good place where no one ask any critical questions...sorry.
  21. Could you tell me what components you used ? What GPU (most likely 2), how much RAM, what PSU and what CPU ? Thanks
  22. Sorry but no one in his right mind would spent 3500€ for a desktop pc (+ the money for you to build it). "using only the best components available"...you mean all the greatly overpriced stuff nobody actually need ? I actually doubt his new pc will be that much better then the old one... He could have just updated his old one for 500€ and would have a killer pc. What did he say, what will he do with his pc...casual pc stuff and gaming ? Did you recommend him to spent less money initially but he refused ? Sounds like you had a hard time spending all 3500€ on just one desktop pc, you could have build 3 killer high-end machines with that money...
  23. The problem is that CMx2 runs rather badly even on some, high-end PC's (drops below 25FPS on medium sized battle) if you not significantly reduce details (mostly models). That should not happen. Also, the loading times are too long. Loading big CMBS scenarios takes me and others 5min... I hope this can be greatly improved ! @ Steve Im not trying to Troll. Would a troll have supported you by buying CMAK, CMSF, Marines Module, British Module, CMBN, v3.0 Upgrade and CMBS ! All i do is criticize some aspects.
  24. Yeah, thats sad isnt it ? I too hoped for a AI/TacAI overhaul combined with more AI trigger options for the Bulge game...
