  1. 1. I never said that this other game has a editor. I dont know if there are any dev tools put if the devs use the same ingame editor as we then yes, it is unnecessary cumbersome. 2. Come on, do they need to know how many cookies the average Landser in a VG füselier company had in his pocket ? No ! The information about formations and weapons is widely available already. 3. i dont think it affects gamplay that much, could just get patched into CMBN and CMFI as a gimmick 4. Im injured and cant leave the house (rib injury because someone gave me a knee strike to the ribs) They dont matter that much but if a game runs sluggish anyway like CMx2 (big maps) then i want at least some eye-candy or optimization (which means make the engine better optimized for modern pc's). With "new effects" i mean improved fog, snow effects or finally get rid of the unholy "floating in nirvana" map.
  2. Hi Steve ! No, thats just wrong in every way. Why do you even mention EA ? No one talked about EA or endless patches for free. I dont care about AAA graphics in a 3D wargame as long as the wargame is good in simulating the battlefield and runs well. A game can be 2D top-down hex i dont care but then it has to run smooth. CMx2 (bigger maps) run mostly sluggish it thats only the fault of a "not so good" (some would say badly) optimized engine. And now dont tell me CMx2 simulates so much in the background, so many calculations...what about "that other game" or ArmA3 ? Both run in highest setting totally smooth on my PC but CMx2 is always sluggish. I'm in the group #3 ! For me to buy another CMx2 game there need to be significant improvements that make the gameplay interesting againand get rid of the CMSF retro flair. Realism is up to CMx2 standard at least and graphics are generally better while the engine is far better optimized. You cant fool me here, sorry Doing maps in CMx2 is always time consuming but just look at the ArmA community maps + its only that difficult because of the cumbersome editor. TO&E's have been researched countless times already especially for such huge and famous battle, thats not that much of a achievement. Tankriders ? Sorry that was maybe important for the eastern front but its only minor stuff for the west front and does not really improve gameplay. If there are real improvements i will pay a reasonable price for a new game, upgrades will not work anyway.
  3. No its not. It would be a analogy if i had to pay weekly to stay in your house and you would serve me the same meal 3 times a day for weeks and i start complaining. Seriously yes this is BFC's forum but they are a company selling a product, i paid then most like over 150$ since 2007 so yes i think i have aright to critic their products. And what will you "showcasing what you thought could be improved" ? That a MG burst should be more likely 3 shots instead of 4 ? Come on we all know the CMx2 engine is on its limits since CMBN, everything beyond is just patchwork.
  4. We all know by now that this is not true there is another game which is at least as realistic as CM and has superior graphics. But stop pushing me to talk about that "other" game it will get me banned. Lets stay on topic !
  5. Many refers to the many PN's i received over the last year with people telling me they feel the same...and i count at least 5 already in this thread who agree with me.
  6. Whats a crackpot ?

  7. I think there are many here that agree with that. In the end its just CMBN with snow and CMBN is just CMSF with WW2 weapons. I hardly can justify to spend another 55$ as long as there is no game-changing new feature that pushes a more realistic gameplay.
  8. Sorry but my goal is to push Battlefront to finally move on and make the changes we desperately need since 2007 (CMSF) !
  9. Yeah, it has no MP but it does simulate many aspects of WW2 warfare far better then Combat Mission does. How many owners of CM play Mp ? Maybe 25% at best ?! Whats the point, we are talking about Combat Mission here ?! Please stay on Topic !
  10. Why be so hostile towards me ?

  11. I cant name them here or post links because that could get me banned. Sorry. All i can say isthat it has something to do with the Mius Front. @ Warts 'n' all Please dont be so aggresive and abusive. All i do is to ask about gameplay features.
  12. AA targeting, Flamethrowers or hit decals ar just minor stuff that somehow got patched into the patchwork of the engine. Nothing of this gives the game a "new" feel, nothing of this changes the way you need to play the game. A redone infantry movement/formations system or new FOW features or a reworked cover/concealment/entrenchment system or a new suppression/routing system...now that would a new features that would make a difference ! Also, a more realistic way to handle and represente buildings or a reduced action-spot size...a 3D editor or halfway interesting quick-battles or new features for the AI (script based for example). Yeah, im totally unimpressed with CMFB. Yeah they said it and they also said they will continue that way for a long time. Do i like it NO ! Do i get excited to buy their future products ? NO ! Yeah, i have a hard time accepting that CMFB just plays like CMSF with WW2 weapons and snow...and that after all those years. Sorry, thats delusional... Its far from perfect and only the second best 3D wargame currently available and soon only ranked third when that other game gets released !
  13. yeah but i doubt it will affect gameplay or make it more realistic .
  14. ^Many things can be spotted way to easy in CMx2. You already named hidden AT-Guns but also infantry generally especially while firing from concealed positions.
  15. Please stop calling me a troll, thanks.

  16. Onboard of a vehicle... I dont know about streams, i think trenches and foxholes would much more nedd a rework .
  17. Please, i just ask a legit question. Im interested in the game and its new gameplay features to justify a purchase. Cobetco already told me things i did not know like the redone burning effects with is a huge step forward visually.
  18. I would not call onboard mortars a "big deal". A redone cover and concealment system or infantry movement would be a "big deal".
  19. I hope you are not mad at me any longer i have learned from my mistakes.

  20. You can bet they will take the Christmas train with them.
  21. "CMFB uses the v3.0 engine of CMx2, same as Red Thunder and Black Sea. Some features that are new to the Western Front include mortars being able to fire from inside their halftracks, and tank riders." Are there no new features for the CMx2 engine ? Was there some fine tuning in the mechanics (infantry spotting/cover) or will AI improvements be added ? Will there be any new graphic effects and features, improvements or optimizations ? I just need some news on that otherwise i cant justify spending money on it. BFC must have done something to improve gameplay...please tell us.
  22. Before Christmas or slightly after.
  23. But keep in mind the scenarios and campaigns are NOT updated or tested with the v3.0 upgrade ! Dont expect new features like AI trigger in the scenarios (which greatly enhance the capability's of the AI) Expect some bugs in the scenarios due to changes made in the patches.
