No there won't be.
But this could be simulated with a combination weather, troop starting soft factors and electric warfare. I am sure we will see this in community scenarios.

There will probably be VDV, Bundeswehr, E-Germany and British -modules if the game takes of (and it will). Maybe also generic NATO & PACT expansions.

I know the IR sights are modeled but is the IR signature of the IR-spotlight modeled? I suspect the IR-spotlights are always modeled as turned off.

This might come with a future engine update/overhaul. I am sure it is coming, but I am not sure is it going to be 2 or 5 years until a facelift.
I am sure a facelift could be done without whole new engine. Or well, I truly hope the code is done in a way to enable this...

How about in Combat Mission: Cold War? That is how the vast majority of soviets toke care of their night vision needs. (the older most widely used equipment)

Does combat mission simulate Infrared-spotlights on tanks? Especially from the point of view of the enemy who also has IR optics? Spotlight should look like the sun from the enemies point of view and near instantly spotted.

If you mean ALICE as in "All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment" system I agree

If I was playing this match a would avoid the town and concentrate in taking all the key terrain and having my eyes and guns on the town. But of course if the objective happens to be the best place to kill the enemy from, then I would take it.
Especially modern fights end because other side gets killed, not because you have taken the objective. Taking the objective is the side effect of killing the enemy.

I don't think he meant it in a negative way. I think he stated it as a feature. Peer-to-peer combat can also stated as "balanced" combat.

I am thinking that the fire and rubble setting is not a coincidence... A a lot of the map research and assets are going to be very helpful with a Cold War gone hot in Germany scenario...
