  1. You also showed up in this thread without good news!
  2. This feature is actually listed in the Shock Force manual as a future feature, but I haven't seen it mentioned again. Would be fantastic though.
  3. This isn't weird at all to someone living in Poland or the Baltics who would like some help keeping a certain large, pesky neighbour off their lawn.
  4. It's the same guy. Mike Sparks goes by many names. You can tell it is him when he calls the M113 a "gavin".
  5. Yeah... Mike Sparks (BlacktailDefense) probably thinks an m113 with an added 105mm cannon would crush a whole platoon of T-90s. He is a really terrible source. Here is another video from one of his many accounts, to illustrate the madness.
  6. lol, you are right. Battlefront.com and Steam are practically the same thing anyway. I've spent nearly $500 on Battlefront.com this year, and easily that much on Steam purchases. I'm pretty sure one is a better storefront than the other. You don't need a forums account somewhere to read information, only if you want to interact with people who are there. Usually, I don't bother, because I run into people who will, for example, compare Steam with a subway. Congrats on rebuilding your system twice. I'll probably be doing that a couple times myself this year, what with the Windows 10 preview, retail, and Intel's next generation cpu expected near Christmas.
  7. Trust someone like Valve who makes their business handling these kinds of transactions over the BFC store page which is the internet equivalent of a burnt out gas station? Convenience? I have too many bloody accounts on the internet as it is, just counting games, not personal or professional. I don't want any more. Value doesn't necessarily mean price. Being able to reinstall the game without begging for another activation being one that jumps out at me immediately.
  8. Trust, convenience, value... take your pick.
  9. AT-10 defeating the dual layer ERA side armour of the M1A2SEPV2MobileOppressionPalace? Doesn't seem likely.
  10. I still think you are underselling the appeal of Combat Mission by lumping it in with classic wargames. Sure, it's not Starcraft, but it also isn't "War in the East"
  11. lol, so you feel that if this thread didn't exist, he would roll in here and spill the beans on future projects? seriously? It's anecdotal evidence and not really worth addressing. Of the ~10 people I play strategy games with, 8 of them became Combat Mission players with the introduction of WEGO multiplayer, but I'm not going to claim that 80% of people exposed to it would play it, because that would be insane.
  12. Like comparing Steam to an HMO or a Subway. Also now apparently interest in it is a secret conspiracy by Valve to destroy Battlefront (thanks Desertor!) Congrats on your Intro to Philosophy course by the way. Bottom line : I think you people are crazy if you think that Combat Mission, a real time tactical strategy game can't compete with Paradox's 4 different grand strategy games, Eagle Dynamics study sims, Slitherline's hex wargames, or whoever was crazy enough to make Command: Modern Air / Naval Operations / Spreadsheet Simulator and ask $90 for it. Complex niche titles aren't as unique or unpopular as you guys seem to think. Not everyone is content with Call of Duty...
  13. Well, you also seem pretty desperate for acknowledgement from certain individuals. It's terrifying how similar grognards and hipsters are. We are not mainstream. We are special.
  14. Is it Bad Analogy Day or something? First someone compares Steam to an HMO, now someone is comparing selling a PC Game on a PC Game Market to a subway. Seriously, I didn't get a card. And no, I don't have a crystal ball that will tell me the future, but the fact that Slitherine and Matrix (amongst many, many others) keep publishing niche titles to steam tells me it's not a losing proposition for them, because they keep doing it...
  15. The fact that Matrix and Slitherine aren't engaged in a secret plot to lose money by continuing to release games on Steam? I don't know about others, but I'll always seek out a game's community site over Steam's community forums. The community stuff is certainly not a strong point of Steam. If you are curious about numbers, look at the 5+ million people who are logged in at any given time.
  16. Yeah, I've seen variations of his argument several times, but in a world where Slitherine, Matrix, DCS, Paradox, and those crazy Train Simulator people can all overcome those same issues with their grognard-y simulation-spaz excel trainers, I remain unswayed. I'd be content with a fix to the activation system so that I won't have to beg for access to something I've paid for after a couple years though.
  17. I don't know. At what point does someone become so deluded that they compare selling a video game on a popular digital store front with the bureaucratic nightmare that is American healthcare? You didn't mean to do that right?
  18. Are you kidding?! Have you seen how poorly game developers get paid? No thank you. I am an authority on software development though, thanks for noticing.
  19. Hey man, having a toxic, hard to find community is one of the fastest ways to grow it. BFC has been in business for more than 10 years, and they know the secret of staying in business : never adapt to change.
  20. Well, if they reach a point where it is obvious that they won't make a release this year, I would hope that they'd at least tell us.
  21. This is the howling at the moon part.
  22. Guys, please don't do the steam thing here. They aren't going to change their minds, no matter how incorrect they are. All you are going to do is get the old guys to brush the dust off their walkers and start howling at the moon.
  23. I didn't check that, but I did have other Shermans will full crews. Also, in Quickbattles, I checked that all tanks were fit.
  24. I've noticed that the Sherman Firefly (VC or IC) only has 3 crew members when added to a scenario or Quick Battle as a single vehicle. It has the proper 4 member crew when added as part of a formation. Is this correct behaviour?
