Yeah, 2.20 is correct. Don't ask why, down that route lies madness. Insert disk error is probably because you don't have all the files for the patch. the 3.11 patch has several files you need. Extract them all to the same location, then run the executable.

Game family for every year? Not module?

pfft. What hippy touchy-feely nonsense. There is money to be made in holiday sales, when no one dares look at their credit card statements. Death march to release!

Needs wrecked cars. Needs racks of track suits everywhere. -
TCP/IP WEGO and the vehicle pack

Managed to play 3 games of CMBN with the 3.11 patch. Smells resolved to me. -
I didn't have to do steps 7-10 on my Windows PC. Pretty sure only people without the VP have to activate 3.11.

Italics are only for quotes. Web 2.0.

Russia is never as weak or as strong as it seems. Hopefully improved since Georgia though.

I'm sure the US will soon counter this with some sort of time-warping gravity generator from the lizard man UFO. That is if the Queen lets them.

can not activate CMBN 3.11

This is fantastic box art. Should be used for 4.0. -
can not activate CMBN 3.11

Well, this probably has more to do with the game not being popular enough to come to the attention of the piracy scene. Not being popular enough to steal isn't really a victory though. -
I am curious to see how well a T-84 does against a T-90A

Poland/Germany/Canada/Britain/USMC would all be cool additions, as well as VDV/Spetznaz for the reds.

TCP/IP WEGO and the vehicle pack
SgtHatred replied to SgtHatred's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Whelp, tried another couple CMBN games, 1 froze 7 seconds in, 1 froze 9 seconds in. Played a CMRT game and it worked perfectly though. Hopefully the fixes for CMRT find their way to CMBN soon. -

So CMBN 3.10 doesn't include the same fixes that Red Thunder 1.01 has? I assume this means a patch is forthcoming. -

Haven't had a chance to try this one. I'll see if I can wrestle up a try sometime this week. -
TCP/IP WEGO and the vehicle pack

We never had trouble with 1.00 Red Thunder WEGO or CMBN 3.0, just CMBN 3.10. -
Has anyone had any success playing WEGO games with the new 3.10 vehicle pack? I have a group of 4 friends who have been playing fairly often recently, and we all bought the pack this morning, and since then we have had no success playing a game for more than a couple of turns. The game rapidly becomes out of sync, the clock freezes for the host player, and the 2nd player's clock gets stuck counting down. We've tried multiple permutations of players, the error always occurs. No single player seems to be the cause. Any ideas?

No, for the final result we get, the way CMx2 produces visuals is painfully inefficient. A new game engine would be way easier for BFC to implement than their current homegrown solution, but it would still take significant time away from content creation, and for all of CMx2's faults, it does the job well enough. Of course, if BFC were to recreate Battle for Normandy with the Crysis3 or Unreal 4 Engines, I would launch all my money at them. You are missing out.

Combat Mission Black Sea : NATO Forces Combat Mission Black Sea : VDV vs Marines Combat Mission Black Sea : Poland Ball Combat Mission Bulge : Barrel Rolling Simulator Combat Mission Red Thunder : Berlin Party Just off the top of my head, 5 obvious module choices going forward. Of course, I have my fingers crossed for Combat Mission : Fulda Gap 1989

resource usage is almost certainly not the reason for a lack of eye candy bump. More eye candy == exponential work load increase for artists.

Multiplayer Matchmaking - Will we ever see an improvement?
SgtHatred replied to Ranger33's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
Well, I certainly wouldn't want to play with randoms in this game, so a lobby for multiplayer wouldn't be high on my list of wants. That sucks that you can't afford the time to play something you enjoy. Good luck with the schedule going forward. Help, I'm trapped in a bad sitcom. If you want a PBEM matchmaking service, I would suggest creating one. You wouldn't be able to get around the exit/load cycle, but it'd be pretty easy website build. I'm surprised one doesn't already exist? -

Nah. Combat Mission only requires 1 port to be forwarded. I would expect everyone to be able to figure that out. A friend of mine has an internal network setup so terrible that I am pretty sure any IT network professionals exposed to it would instantly kill themselves, and yet he is able to host CMBN games just fine. -

I really don't see the point in enhancing PBEM in 2014. Direct connect Real-time and turn-based are effective. -
Wasn't cooperative multiplayer listed as a future feature in the CMSF manual? Here we go. Something tells me that if they had the technical capability, it would already be in the game, since it was listed as a feature for future modules of the very first cmx2 game. Too bad, 2v2 multiplayer would be a lot of fun.
