A great series of pictures. Thanks for sharing them.

Well there were quite a few "city types" in the CLY, and in those days the banks shut at 3pm. It also has to be remembered that the Middle Saxons were never as tough as you western boys, look how they caved in when the Vikings showed up.

When I recently gave this a go as the Limeys against the AI I did impose a few rules upon myself.
The vehicles at Point 213 are all open to replicate the crews chatting to one another. But, no orders can be issued to them either during the set up phase or on Turn 1.
The two half-tracks on the main road must be given "Quick" orders straight up the road.
The remaining vehicles on the side of the road, and those in Villers-Bocage itself are not allowed to move or be given target orders on Turn 1.
No artillery missions can be called in until at least one enemy contact icon can be seen by the FO at Point 213.

@Lucky_Strike It is a little known fact that before he changed his name to "Manilow", Bazzer was in a cabaret duo with his twin brother Beny Bocage called "Les garcons de Saint-Lo". After Petula Clark's success at the Paris Olympia, she was able to get them a residency at Madame Fifi's Revue Bar, in Old Compton Street. Sadly, it wasn't long before the rozzers began raiding the place, and Beny died at West End Central, after slipping on a wet floor and smashing his bonce on the cell door, only seconds after P.C. Eyat Wolfenden had put away his mop and bucket. ... Allegedly.
Of course they weren't the only "celebs" to have problems there. The Bee Gees' "Massachusetts" was originally entitled "West End Central" based on the notorious Maurice and Lulu drugs bust. But their record company turned it down for legal reasons, and they had to change both title, and lyrics.

How on earth Wittmann managed it on his own I don't know. Surprise and luck in no small measure I suppose.
He was aided by the Limey need to stop for a cuppa.
Probably the only way to recreate it in CM would be to have a large number of their vehicles "dismounted".

I'm not a great fan of any battle where you have to get towed guns into position after the action has begun. And with the German Infantry Gun in can be particularly time consuming, and deadly for it's crew.
-
And now Ladies and Gentlemen I'd just like to do a little song for @Lucky_Strike
His name was Lucky, he was very plucky.
And he called all the rozzers "ducky" etc etc
Enough of that rubbish, I'm off to tackle "Wittmann's Demise", which will be a great looking experience, even if not a winning one.

I'm not sure who are dying off fastest, those who want H2H campaigns, or those who want a return to old style "Operations"?

What in the name of Sweet Fanny Adams does this have to with FB? Nowt!
In the meantime BFC haven't even finished WW2 yet.
It is so sad that so much time and effort has been wasted wandering off down Fantasy Avenue. Ho hum.

@MOS:96B2P Mozzer have you checked the "My Attachments" section of your account? It might be full, so can always free up space by deleting some of your previous posts, whilst they will still remain to be viewed in their original thread locations.

You're welcome.
I forgot to mention that there is also a scenario that comes with the MG Module that is set back on Normandy on the 16th July. It is called "Green Hell" and pits US forces against the Fallschrimjager.
Also, the battle I call "Nijmegen Road Bridge" comes from thefewgoodmen website, where it is called Nijmegen Finale and includes a mod folder using that name.

My dad went to Somerset once. Kent had a great morning, he drank too much at lunchtime, and they got stuffed by Viv and the boys in the afternoon.

As far as semi-historical and historical battles go I think it goes like this....
Bridge no. 7
Out on a Limb
Outstanding Gallantry
All Round Defense
Landing Zone T
Devil's Hill
Drive on Dreijsenseweg
Johanna Hoeve Farm
Back to the Waal
A Man can die but once
Nijmegen Road Bridge
Boldness be my Brother
Lonsdale's Block
Betuwe on Fire
You can always check with a pen and paper to hand, or create a battles database like I did. Just fire up a scenario and check the date in the briefing. It could well be that other forumites have played some battles that I haven't, and that might have more suggestions for you. Happy gaming!

Thanks mate.
I'm glad that it worked. In fact once I'm finished with replaying the "Swords" and the "Demise" battles, I shall revisit "Busting" myself. I think that it will look great with your Normandy mod.

Hope this works for you ...

And the moral of the story is, never play CM with a sleeping pussy, they cheat.
-
I log on humming "Tiger Rag" only to be confronted by Bazzer. Yuk!
-
I'm thinking of giving both "Swords" and "Demise" another go. The recent hedgerow mods have given me a taste for Normandy again.

Going through my mod warehouse. If Aris created mods or "mod packs" specifically for Final Blitzkrieg then he put "CMFB" or just "FB" in the title. If they don't appear, then you are using one of his earlier mods. Or at least, that is how I understand it to work.

I remember seeing Chi-chi at London Zoo when I was a kid.
-
@Lucky_Strike Thanks for that explanation of the underlying problems of modding the hedgerows. I've always thought that the "straight poles" in particular looked out of place.

In a turn or two, the team will rejoin at that endpoint.
"In a turn or two," Your men could get shot to pieces. The rest of your advance could grind to a halt etc etc.
This bug should have been sorted once and for all, within weeks of the release of the Big Bundle six, or however many years ago. And that is coming from someone who regularly got abused for being a "fanboi".

I think that you are getting confused with Dartford Mick and Mars Bar Marianne.
