(Not much of a) Spoiler Alert
You actually kick off the campaign with French Canadian troops. They probably don't take too kindly to being referred to as "Jocks". Oh, well, c'est la vie, as Chuck Berry once said.

If I may presume, I think perhaps you meant 'content' yourself....
Elizabeth lifts her eyes from her Whitehall Gazette, chuckles and says, "He got you there Noddle Head".
Thanks for the correction. I'm blaming the fact that getting stuck in a minefield plays havoc with my typing.

I would have bet that the new "big thing" was amphibious vehicles and river crossings, the capability of which exists in the engine, with various LVTs, maybe footbridges and campaigns at Walcheren and during Operation Varsity to use these new systems. That would have been cool and exciting and, at least to me, the obvious direction for the game to take. All of this is completely absent though. I guess the Schwimmwagen was added, but no allied amphibious gear? This timeframe would also be perfect for adding Commandos and Rangers (which already exist in Italy BTW).
My thoughts were pretty much along the same line. I shall have to contend myself with getting my Limey arse kicked in the Reichswald.
I've already put together a new music mod "Jocks in the Wald".

It was said that this expansion was made with love but that only seems to concern the US faction from what I can see.
I feel an Ian Richardson moment coming on.

0:40 .. "Deep into the American lines". Someone whack this guy 'round the bonce with a history book.

Calm down lads, we can work it out. As Macca often said to Jane Asher.

The briefing states...
You are awarded
TOUCH Gun 1 50vps
TOUCH Gun 2 100vps
TOUCH Gun 3 250vpsYes. you need to TOUCH the gun positions and they're marked on your Tac Map.
Perhaps if they run away and you leave the gun intact, they'll just come back after you run away and start firing again. They can't do that in the game - once you abandon a gun, you can't reacquire it.
Okeh, the tactical map lettering is a bit dark. And there are no touch locations marked on the battle map, which threw me a bit. But, I will give it another go. Cue, Nat Cole "Gone with the draft".

Started the campaign and I've just played "Silence the Guns". The Germans abandoned three guns. But, I didn't receive points for any of them. Are there hidden "Touch" locations that I am meant to find?

Yes, that mission rings a few bells. Bullets flying everywhere.

Let me be clear, you mean point 1?
Oh, damn, blast, and fiddlesticks. Yes, I meant Point 1.
Exits stage right, mumbling "Silly old fool" to himself. ------------------>

Point 2. It sounds to me that what you are describing is unintentional friendly fire. It occurs rarely, and normally when a friendly unit has been fired on by an unseen enemy, and fires back in the direction of a friendly unit by mistake.
-
In any mission you play you don't have to occupy every building in a victory location. But, what you must do is make sure that it is free of enemy units. Whilst having at least one unit somewhere within the victory location yourself.
Alternatively, punish the enemy so hard that they surrender.

Hi all, I bought the pack and I look forward to playing it.
Is there any posibbility for the game to be shared early to Combat Mission youtubers in order to create some hype?
Thank you all for all your work.
That used to be @ChrisND's forte. But, he might be too busy nowadays

The Hybrid Firefly served in Downfall's theater and is present in R2V, so it should be added to the TO&E when possible.
As seen in this rather well-known picture :
"A Sherman Ic Hybrid of the Coldstream Guards, Guards Armoured Division photographed near Namur, Belgium December 25, 1944."
Sorry to bother you like this.
I've never seen this tank described as a "Hybrid" before. And I always thought that it came from 11th Armoured Division. You learn new things even at my age.

Do you mean the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland ? Anyway love those screenshots, who won (no spoilers in a QB right)?
I think the correct term is "Limeyland". I'm still trying to teach my USatian girlfriend that.

Hope you're okay now my friend.
Many thanks. Recovery is slow, but the girlfriend takes great care of me, and even listens to me waffling on about CM.

A combination of cancer treatment, and then needing to buy a new PC, means that I have built up a backlog of stuff to play. But, I will certainly buy this at sometime. Having been to Kleve for a meal once, and seeing how lovely it is, I might feel a pang of guilt if I have to pound it to bits. Ho hum.

Ah, needing a ladder to go apple picking. We were all so much younger then.

@Kohlbie Thanks for letting us all know so quickly. And @Paper Tiger for the prompt action.

Yes. Historically, there was an old, derelict truck there. There used to be a special flavour object mod for CMSF that turned one of the dustbins into such a wreck which was perfect but that's long gone. So I used a destroyed truck instead. The enemy won't fire upon it. It's just there for flavour.
Okeh, thanks for the reply. Perhaps a German truck would have been better. But, I will just pretend that a local haulage firm bought a truck from the US before the war to gain bragging rights over their competitors.

@Paper Tiger The full title of of the scenario that came with the base game is "Silence the Guns - Brecourt Manor". So sorry for any confusion. It's been a long time since I played it, but I don't recall the guns firing off into the distance. To be honest I was so focused on attacking the gun position that I never rotated the camera to see that the map took in Utah Beach until you mentioned it above.
One quick question about your own new mission. There appears to be a US truck knocked out just in front of the Set-up Zone. Is that right? Or, am I seeing things?

Thanks for all your work, Paper Tiger. I'm looking forward to giving a couple of these missions a play!
Is anyone else having trouble getting to the individual missions / btt files? I can extract the campaign files just fine (using either the most updated version of Rokko's Uncam that I can find, or Mad Mike's tool), but the individual missions are not showing up in my scenario list even though the btt files are in the scenario folder... i.e., same procedure that's worked for so many other extracted campaigns.
I used Uncam without a hitch. When I opened the new campaign folder all the missions are listed as .btt files. Click on the ones you might want to look at, then just copy, and paste into your Scenarios folder. I tested it out because I wanted to see how the new "Silence" battle compared to "Silence the Guns" from the base game.

Just downloaded it, and taken a quick peek. I look forward to losing it in style once I've finished my current campaign.

That is the campaign that I was talking about. And you're right, francophone names are a bit thin on the ground. They seem to be confined to just the senior officers. But, I'm still enjoying it, win, lose, or draw.
