I've never had this kind of hassle with a patch before. Ah, the joys of being 400 years old. And I bet that I don't get a telegram from Karl von Battenburg.

Thanks for that.
Sadly, it didn't work. I just got the same result as last time. Ho hum.

That often happens when the patch gets installed into a sub folder.
Chexk your HD and see if the new .exe ended up in either the data folder or another folder all together next to where you installed it. Another possible wrong location is in the my documents folder.
The fix for that is to delete these files and install the patch again. When you select the install directory watch to see if it appends an extra level after you click ok on the select folder dialog. If that happens manually fix the path in the edit box before continuing.
Thanks for that.

I have a slight variation on the problem shown in the screenshot above.
The script "SAVED GAMES & PBEM" looks fine. But, on looking down in the right hand corner it still reads v4.03. Perhaps someone might have an idea as to why this has happened.

Latest battle: Kicking Coblenz
I remember during my pub crawl around Germany in 1989. I was sat at my campsite's bar in Koblenz, looking across at the Deutsches Eck when I saw a tourist coach from my hometown. I could have kicked myself.
As for this mission it's been far too long to remember the details. I may have had more men than yourself. The results was a Major Defeat, so I obviously didn't "Surrender".

They're not the guys that started the feud with the French Canadians, are they?
No. Wrong part of Normandy. 17thSS fought against the USatians, not the Canucks. You're thinking of 12thSS.
By co-incidence, there was a live ammo exercise in our local park that turned into a shooting match between Anglo-Scottish Canucks and French Canucks, with fatalities.

I don't know. But it is interesting that they were the only Waffen-SS division that fought exclusively against the western allies. Never against the Soviets. How lucky can you get?
Given the fact that by November there were only 4,000 men left. The answer to your question would appear to be "not very".

A fictional PzIV? ... Not 100% what you are asking here but the short answer anyway will be: Nope.
And more importantly when is the next Ashes series on? Over your side of the world in 6 months or so?
I was asking because I always felt that their inclusion in "Montebourg" and some of the scenarios in Battle for Normandy marred it somewhat. And knowing that 17th SS didn't have any in June '44 I was hoping they wouldn't be included.
As for the next Ashes series, I lost interest in cricket when they started giving the grounds stupid names e.g Emirates Old Trafford. Why can't they just be honest, The Absolutist Monarchy (where we murder slave labourers) Stadium. Or, would that be just a tad too honest?
-
Having read the likely questions. Here's mine.
Will the pack include fictional Pz.IVs? Or will, 17th SS be confined to the AFVs that they actually had in June 1944?

What’s the release date?
When it is ready. - This is an honest answer, although it rarely satisfies the dummy spitters.
Wait a minute who the hell are you?
He is a convict from our antipodean colony. Normally quite nice, unless you mention the cricket.

I think it is just human nature to want to try to "solve" the problem of bogging. Whether we are doing any good or not.
In the meantime I hope that everyone is having a happy Tyrant Execution Day.

If in doubt always save the game before attempting to move vehicles across a bridge.

That is sad news indeed. I always enjoyed his banter, "Jah Woosterfari".

The last time he "won the day" was 28th January 2022. perhaps he will return for the anniversary, bearing flagons of scrumpy.

I'm trying to iron out some problems with some of the scenarios.. If people want to take a look and pass your thoughts onto @NPye or myself.

A great series of screenshots.

Hopefully once you get RT to run again you can take a look. In the meantime I'm sure there will be other forumites along to offer their thruppence three-farthing worth.

I think the mod has the potential of providing a couple of decent campaigns.
Sadly, some of the flaws from Version 1 with regards the scenarios themselves remain, e.g. victory locations missing or not matching the briefing, poor deployment both of initial set-up troops and reinforcements.
The most extreme example being "Kroll Opera House". Not only is the Opera House NOT marked as a victory location, it is also covered by the red Russian set-up zone. But, this kind of thing can be ironed out. It depends on how much time Nigel has, and how much help he gets.

Good Start I choose Konev as Zhukov at the Heights was already done, and is much more interesting and more successful on day 1 than Zhukov...
One suspects that with me in charge Marshal Konev will be receiving a visit from the NKVD.

I'm going to kick off with "Konev's Opening Moves". No orthodox crosses to offend my puritanical eyes. And I do like the look of the loading screen mod.
