    Turn 1:50-1:49
    As the turn begins, the men flee the houses and head for the open field away from where the spotting rounds have been falling.

    At the end of the last turn, this guy made an appearance. He appears to be firing at the tower of the church but has so far hit nothing.

    One of my two inch mortars had a clear line of sight and begins to drop rounds on him. I really hope a nice HE round will land in the back of the halftrack and set it ablaze. 

    My sniper in the church tower spots this juicy target at the end of the turn. He is given orders to fire away at the men in the back. Hopefully he can pick off one or two... The two inch mortar round is exploding in the background.

    Over with C Company, these men continue to shift around in anticipation of the 81 mm rounds coming in. The trouble with playing Iron mode, these mortar rounds seem to take forever to come in.

    The - historical-  facts go to point out that  the last four Tory prime ministers in British history have been incinerated as a result of their policies regarding the EU. Thatcher, Major, Cameron and now May, seem to have find the end of their political careers on the same or a similar shoal. Always loudly demanding concessions from those "exploitative" continentals, always getting them, and all to, inthe end,  have been summarily thrown out of a window by a faction in the Tory party.
    Rik Mayall totally nailed what those games are about with this impersonation

    A very confusing turn. On my left wing, the Germans did launch a counter attack that wipe out the few men that were there.

    My troops are fleeing ... While the enemy continues to shoot at them ...



    Only two brave men of 1st squad / B team scout team is trying to save the day.

    Alas, they are panicking. But, they are going toward the enemy !!?? Mmm, it remembers me the strange pathfinding behavior for which I have send you a test scenario @IanL


    Two more casualties... Snif. Strangely enough, the Germans are also retreating.

    In fact, the reason is pretty simple. This halftrack was really a good acquisition. 🙂

    The overall situation did not change. Looks like we are going to a stalemate.

    MINUTE 23
    My actions are still focused on my left wing but it also starts on my right wing as well. 

    On the right, I have now two machine guns in position to harass a little the Germans in front of them.

    On the left, my mortar team is doing some indirect fire where the Germans just retreats. I hope to undermine their morale.

    My halftrack is still firing from time to time.

    On my right wing, the Germans are pinned.

    Looking at the clock, looks like I will miss some mortar fires except if there is few minutes left after scenario ends.

    But, do you know what is the most strange during this turn? I have realized this after replaying the turn once more. In fact, the volume of fire from the Germans is decreasing. I am even wondering if they shoot at anything this turn. So, I have ordered few moves ahead in the center for next turn. Will see...

    There is not much action this turn, as I am waiting on some on map mortars to start firing. I am moving a few men and vehicles around in order to have them in the best positions possible to be able to take advantage of the covering fire from the mortars.
    On the left with C Company, I lose two men to fire from RH as they move in a little closer. More of his men are seen fleeing and reveal themselves in the buildings. I have order the vehicles seen here to spread out a little so they can hopefully provide some supporting fire.

    On the right by the church, a spotting round lands in the trees. There are two casualties, one light and one KIA. 

    As well all know, it is always the important guy who gets hit...


    All the men seen here are given orders to flee the area and hide for safety.

    If it is not clear who the victor in the coup attempt is by 0615hrs (or if the player just wants to) the player can choose to award the AI controlled regime 200 VPs and continue to fight on.  The USMC will then be available for the player's use.  Of course this overt outside intervention will trigger a nationalist backlash in the streets of the city........... Command decision.   Below are some screenshots following a decision to fight on. 
    Chaos continued to grip the city with no clear victor emerging.  


    The task force stationed off the coast became impatient with the continued chaos and escalating threats to their consulates and citizens in the city.  The command decision was made.

    Well played, a very good use of your units.
    I am always amazed as to how well the game will use some real world tactics to achieve a good result.
    Very sneaky of you as to using the 9m14 as a way to direct the enemy units where you want them.
     
    I have dismounted tank crews before to get spots but have not thought about the chain of command as well and how that can get all  my units the info.
    Also have baited the enemy to expose their flank to me but normally with a bmp or something along that lines, I like the concept of using the missile. Likely its the only thing they will ever do but it can add to a possible good outcome.
     
    If you play h2h, people better watch out, sounds like you have your act together.

    Smarter brains then me will be along shortly with hopefully more advice. I would suggest seeing if removing your mods for a while makes the problem go away. It is possible one of them is messing something up. The other suggestion I have would be to save your game the next time it happens and make a link available. I could try to load your file and see if the same thing happens on my machine.

    The artillery barrage continues. On my left wing, I see some Germans coming back to counter my move. This is not the end after all...

    As planned, my halftrack has spotted few targets. Cool. 😏


    At least, I have one objective that is reached. It should lower the victory points of everybody.

    On the left, this is not turning good. But, I am taking the needed orders next turn to explose those guys. 😡


    Small victory, the armored car will not cause any problem anymore.

    MINUTE 20
    My men are advancing and firing. I am doing an alternate of QUICK and ASSAULT moves and it seems to work quite well. Some people are firing while the others are progressing. I will continue to experiment this.

    Looks like the Germans are playing their last gambit.

    My two men scout team is approaching from the main objective.

    My halftrack is on the move and I hope it will suppress lots of enemy in the coming turns...


    On the left, I am progressing... But, in the center, this is another story... By chance, the Germans are heading towards my troops that are still in a state of fighting.

    Hope and pray you have spotted his men already and none are hiding elsewhere. Use the 81mm and 60mm to fire HE onto his known locations. Use those rounds to pin and suppress his men. Once the rounds start falling fast and furious, have your men move in and finish them off. Key here will be timing. You want the last rounds to fall on his head in the same turn as your men also close the final distance. Use your halftrack and any BAR teams to also provide overwatch. Should any enemies show up in new locations, hopefully their combined firepower will be enough to allow your men to safely cross the open terrain. 
    I see your tank still has an active Icon in this picture. What is its status? If it is still usable.... I think your protection problems won't be as bad as your fear.

    Looks like my problem is resolved. In fact, Joe has resolved it for me. The turn starts well. On the left, my troops starts assaulting the enemy position in front of them.


    But, I was surprised to see an assault from the Germans in the center without any kind of support.

    My mistake, 10,5cm shells exploded few seconds later, crushing or disabling most of my men in the center. Argh!!!!!! 😞




    I am going back to CMSF2...

    Thanks.  I think this will be a fun scenario to play.  
    AAV-7s and LAV-25s head for the beach.

    Us Marines prepare gear on the deck of the USS Wasp as the first assault wave passes the port side.

    In the editor a bridge can be placed inside a building.  This allows a vehicle to drive through a building.  It takes some experimenting to get it the way you want.  Originally I was just using the bridge building combination for gate houses to compounds like below. 


    Then I tried it with buildings in water for ships with well decks.

    My halftrack continues some area fire to pin down the enemy.

    The 10,5cm shell of this turn is bad. Four teams impacted... Argh!!! 😡

    Looks like our old friend, the armored car, is back.

    Meanwhile my mortar team is starting a fire mission to add more casualties to the guys in front of me in the woods.

    This time, my halftrack is able to spot the enemy car and starts firing. 🎅

    I hope it will be neutralized now. 😃
