  1. Thanks for the reply; the trouble is I get the issues whether or not the effects are enabled, just with Reshade installed to the game is enough to get weird issues. The most annoying ones are area fire and artillery targets are often offset by a lot, and when moving a waypoint they tend to "cycle", which happens in vanilla too, but not as intense. Some examples: Clipping of terrain, happens almost anywhere on the map. Kind of makes it unplayable. With Reshade + AdaptiveSharpen: I really like the added sharpening of the textures. However it brings along several issues, like the dark texture on the vehicles, they are supposed to be tan. Also note some weirdness at the rear of the front vehicle. How original looks. Note that somehow the transparency of the house is gone in the screenshot, just random weirdness I guess. It's too bad - it would be really nice to use Reshade for some minor effects in this game. I am no fan of overblown contrast or massive saturation, so a lot of filters I wouldn't use anyway, maybe add a little splash of extra color and sharpening is all.
  2. A question to you guys using Reshade, specifically HerrTom: Are you getting weird issues with setting paths/targets, and issues with the terrain clipping when using Reshade? I wanted to use just a simple sharpening filter, nothing fancy, just to counter the blur caused by running at a different res than native, and I got these issues. Also got the same in CMFB.
  3. Ok thanks - just seems strange, if I give them a long walk order then they start running and tire out as well as making themselves more visible in woods and less able to spot enemies lying in wait. They could risk running into enemies instead. Would be more natural to drop to ground and abandon move if so. I'll take a look at suppression next time it happens.
  4. I've noticed this lately - when the unit (foot) reaches the last waypoint they increase their movement speed one step, so if Move they will change to Quick, and if Quick they will change to Fast. Is this a bug or intended behaviour? I've considered that it might be in relation to the unit or another unit in the platoon being fired on, but it seems to happen even without fire, and I would think stopping and abandoning the move would be a better choice than running. It would make sense if it was a short move, then they would be able to quickly get there, but for long moves, if you don't watch them, they will just tire themselves out needlessly. For instance I would move a lot of troops through woods I consider relatively safe, and then for the last waypoint they just start running. Is this normal behaviour? Couldn't find anything in the wiki about it.
  5. Thanks for answering my question guys, and I hope that some time in the future there will be an option to continue. It's just an option, and not having scenarios coded so the AI will never surrender (then the designer can just use Elite forces). I am sure all of us wargamers like to see what-if scenarios and this is all it's meant to do - just allow the player to see "What if..."
  6. Hi, Just a question about if it's possible to continue a battle after the enemy surrenders? I assume there is some kind of limit to when the enemy has x number of units in routed or panic state, he will automatically surrender. However, for long battles I'd really like to see if my plan comes together and actually nail that last objective. For instance, I've been playing "Smoke em if you got em" and the enemy surrendered before I'd had a chance to make an advance on the factory itself, which was kind of a bummer. I know it's a bit of a strange thing but I really like to see some kind of closure apart from surrender. I'm even open to editing the save in an editor if that's what it takes, but it appears save games are not actually editable in the scenario editor
  7. If playing as Italians - get ready to swallow some bitter lemons, is all I say
  8. Thanks for posting this, an excellent documentary. I think it manages to avoid the most outrageous propaganda so common in many of these films (and perhaps needed at thet time), while showing more of the human cost Those GIs must've gone through a hell of rain and mud and enemy fire...
  9. It's got the R35 tank in it. What other reason do you need, these things are cute as hell!
  10. In my current game of 'Lemon Hill' I have a problem: I set an artillery strike, and it takes a very long time to arrive (30+ mins), in the meantime the Commander (spotter) got killed. Now I cannot cancel the artillery strike, and since I've got guys close to the strike target I want to cancel the strike. The unit shows up as 'denied' for the commander unit, while other nearby units get 'busy' and can't do anything either. Any idea what to do in such a situation, and is it a bug? This has come up a few times in the past apparently: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=102598&highlight=cancel+artillery http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?p=1324319&highlight=cancel+artillery#post1324319 http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=99637&highlight=cancel+artillery In the mission I am trying to avoid the target area, but I've got spotting rounds landing dangerously close to my troops now. Should not the strike be canceled if the battery doesn't receive any confirmation of spotting rounds? Screenshot:
  11. I was hoping this shader fix would improve the really ugly shadows I'm getting at times, but sadly they didn't I seem to have about the same problem as Mingan - they look terrible and move around when I move the camera. This is on Nvidia GTX 580, Win7, 301.42 driver (latest stable).
  12. I'd love more smaller scenarios too, like the others say they feel more personal. A lot of WW2 was these kinds of small skirmishes. Too much for an aging brain to figure out on those huge battles too
  13. Just gonna jump in there and say I am so far very happy with CMFI; love the Italians and their "wonky" equipment, the R35s are just lovely. It's not often you see them in a war game, last time I had a chance to drive one of those was in the Carpathan Crosses mod for Red Orchestra, great fun I loved CMBN but the bocage fighting got stale after a while, was longing for open landscapes and more tactically interesting scenarios. Soooo.... East Front next then?
  14. Let's just say I'm a long-time lurker CMFI is really very photogenic, but I had to struggle with avoiding ugly shadows. Hopefully the patch will fix these And there should be a key to just turn off all UI elements...
  15. Hi! Don't you just love these little guys? Italians and their exotic equipment! Good overlook position: Avanti! The M5 model is a work of art...
