I don't think it's other people's posts that are discouraging - I think it's the general apathy and disdain with which Battlefront treats it's customers. In this day and age of instant communication it is ludicrous that news flow is almost non-existent. Having bought all the WWII games and all the add-ons, I am now at the end of my tether awaiting - in particular - the long-promised and yet still unprovided patch. I would suspect that many have already thrown in the towel and will not be returning. I may shortly be joining them.

Well said. +1. I'm afraid to think what all  this means for the release of the module for CMRT. I'm not interested in CMSF 2 (probably won't buy it, which is a first for me) and not even in the Italy module (will buy that one though).  With regard to the CMRT module I certainly don't expect it this year anymore and with that my interest in all this is practically gone. Better save your time and energy and wait for better times.

I do think this is a subject I have some expertise in: digital marketing.  Some of the work I do is for small niche software companies, not unlike BF.  All of them are  acutely conscious of marketing, even if they only have small budgets for it - they want to keep their existing customers and reach out to potential new ones.  We all know that new versions and patches can be delayed but that is a reason to ensure that customers are kept in the loop. It's not actually a cost, but has an ROI in increased sales and customer satisfaction.  BF seem to be shamefully ignorant or uncaring about this, and its Digital Marketing 101.  IMO it is a very poor business strategy just to rely on a hard core of ageing customers in a competitive marketplace, but obviously BF sees things differently,  [sigh].

Says the man with 26,000 posts on the forums...
To me the most egregious thing about all of this is that there are many existing paying customers who had their Engine 4 upgrades borked by an issue that was CREATED BY BFC and that was pointed out what, a year-and-a-half ago?  No it's not necessarily "game breaking", but it can break games that you've already invested time in.  Either way, it's an issue that has been complained about multiple times, and after a long period of radio silence, Steve comes on and basically says "I know we can do better as far as communication goes" and yet here we are again a few months later with total radio silence.  Why everyone seems to think it's fine to ignore fixing something that is causing multiple paying customers issues  (and the updrade to Engine 4 has not been cheap for those who've been here since the beginning) in place of coming out with something new, I see that as a total lack of understanding of the wants and needs of your paying customers.
It's a nice gesture to send one of your forum members to post a video in your place, but I don't think that's what the people who are complaining are asking for.  Just a little common courtesy is all.  You've got guys loitering around here who are clearly showing interest in the product or they wouldn't be here.  Steve's responses are terse and show little respect for the people who keep them in business, if they come at all.
I've bought every single Combat Mission product from CBMO to CMBS, but I stopped at FB.  And I won't be buying anything else from them until they demonstrate in some way that they actually give two s*&ts about their customers.
I am a software developer and the last company I worked for took the same cocky stance that "our product is superior so either shut up and like it/buy it or go find something else".  That worked out real well for those guys...

Well it seems to me that know one seems to know what is going on....Does anyone think that no information is acceptable.   I am really starting to get a little more concerned about this whole thing....I already paid my money for the prepaid game.   That's fine but if you ask me i am starting to get a little more than concerned.  Can someone at BF give us some info as to WTF is going on...A little info would make me and some other folks calm down a little bit....Not much  in my opinion this whole deal is getting a little more than than concerning...I know it's only a game but......really can we have some GD info.....

Yeah if a member of BFC spends 30 seconds making a post its going to hurt the company or delay the game another month.
You don't actually think that right? I legitimately cannot wrap my head around the thought process that led you to that.

    Huh? This makes no sense.
How did you jump to the conclusion that I was angry with you or anyone else? Sarcasm doesn't = anger. It means I'm tired of waiting for news from you guys and tired of waiting for new products to buy and I was tired of waiting over a year ago.
How did you decide that me and everyone else wants dates? I don't give a damn about dates. Developers can keep customers in the loop by simply letting us know what they're doing. Are you excited about something you're making? Sweet! Maybe tell us about it so we can be excited with you. Or just keep doing what you're doing and say absolutely NOTHING for over a year at a time. You're the first company I've ever seen admit that it doesn't see a problem with "customers tuning out".
How did you all make the decision that not engaging your customers at all for a year or more is perfectly ok and normal? People aren't asking for release dates. They're asking for information. Based on what devs show us, we can generally figure out about when something is coming or nearing completion anyway (because....they tell us....). Instead you've missed I think two "deadlines" (by the end of next month, twice). Instead of giving the date you can't make, just be like "guys we are getting very close to release we are just polishing X vehicle and TOE up and Fred drew boobs on all the tank textures when we sacked him so we gotta go fix those". Instead we get nothing at all.

You just updated the website to be in the new millennium. I'd suggest you update this keep everyone in the dark policy. This is the information age and we want information. Hell, even Games Workshop is doing a great job engaging customers nowadays. I love you guys half to death and appreciate what you do for our tiny niche community but what is literally happening here is people are yelling shut up and take my money and you're just shoving your fingers in your ears and going lalalalala i can't or don't want to hear you. Not cool, brother.
