Others have more knowledge than I do re this.  But, you should be able to activate all CM2 titles (except for CMSF which has a max of 2 activations) multiple times and no need to de-activate non-needed copies (IIRC).

If you are having problems on a 2nd computer make sure that your security software is not interfering.

    Its the same PC.

I get this when I input the key. When I activated it on the first and wrong install, as expected it came up "main game" "engine 4.0" "Battle pack". Now it is just this:

Whether it is a set of new installs or not - The Road to Dinas is user made content and as I stated earlier, I doubt Battlefront will update it. Remember that Engine 4 will be adding things like

    1. Bridges
    2. Water Features
    3. Fortifications
    4. More AI slots
    5. Triggers

So, while the file may load, if the original designer used marsh tiles for rivers or the old style terrain mesh trenches, then it will just be a bit sh1t really and any mods used will probably not be compatible with the updated artwork.

    Your options therefore will be:

    1. Contact the designer and request them to update to CMSF 2
    2. Crack the editor open and update it.

True I had not thought about the tiles thing. Hmm well guess we will just have to wait and see :)

In theory yes but I doubt Battlefront will update anything other than content that was originally shipped with the game and its modules.

Thats fine with me, I was just at first under the impresion that CMSF2 was going to be a new set of games, as in new instals, and not an upgrade/patch per se. If i can still play the Road to Dinas on CMSF2 I will be happy ;)

Sorry, my writing was misleading. I am a german in Germany. As a civilian I played a lot against british soldiers here who conducted these big wargame conventions. Now I am with a major defence company, and, like some others here, use VBS3 among other simulation systems. But I don't like it very much - dumb AI, cluttered user interface. Difficult to control even a section of eight men.

Ah I see. no problem then!

and on VBS3, the excercise i was involved in last week was preety much Company level maneuvers (the company CO practicing briefing with his LTs, viceversa etc etc). we were just there to "drive" the vehicles around. Each platoon had a vehicle or two at the most. Nothing important at the squad level apart from "yes we have reconed the bridge". Altough i had alot of fun, while all the planing was going on I managed to sneak into the games God mode and had a lot of fun calling in airstrikes, artillery and spawning big type 45 destroyers and cargo ships in the middle of Iraq. jaja!

Basically, I would like to see if there is sufficient interest to attend a CM wargaming weekend with playing a common and guided scenario. There were big events like that at Rhendahlen barracks in the eightees and ninetees. Always a lot of fun, nice people and much beer. Some even burned their dice after a lost battle.

Sure...I wouldnt mind travelling, any excuse is good

A cheap hotel, big ballroom, hired computers for those not bringing their own, a nerd connecting these and preparing material for After-Action-Review and the forum, temporary licenses from Battlefront (?), a fitting scenario, a blue and red leader and some 10 to 20 players resolving any clash that shows up on the common situation map of the Excon (Exercise Conductor) which is kept secret to red and blue.

    Good idea?

can I come? i will bring my pc! I just got off some wargaming today with VBS3 for the week. Made me wish we could mix it up a bit with CM though.

PS: So brit in germany hey? did you by any chance participate in Vgauntlet last year? had a good time working with some of your fellows there. Good times

  7. Ive used MRAPS in real life for sometime and honestly, they serve no purpouse apart from patroling roads. We use RG.31s and IVECO Linces. These later ones are slightly better but they both tend to be very dangerous to drive and tend to topple over. I wouldnt want to getinto a shooting war with them.

  8. "Crazy video. Luhansk People’s Republic separatist fighters advance in a line across an open field under accurate fire, toward Ukrainian military positions.  At just over three minutes into the video, panic sets in as a Ukrainian main battle tank appears out of the woodline. The rebels frantically launch RPGs at the tank, but it quickly destroys at least two of their armored personnel carriers. The separatists retreat, dragging their wounded with them"

I was just about to post this one aswell jaja
