  1. I've found it's better to get all the elevations done, then get all the terrain tiles exactly the way I want them, before planting any vegetation or placing any objects. It's fun and tempting to get into details right away to see how it will look, but it often means having to erase and undo things later, adding more hours to the creation time. The vegetation and objects can get in the way and make it harder to see what's really going on with the evolving map.

Yes, I always follow this order.

    -Elevation

    -Roads

Then I partition the map into sections using the roads as separation lines and go from there.

  2. Usually the crew leaving a gun was taking with them the firing pin. That is quickly and usually easily done and you can refit it to the gun if needed.

IN CM do you mean that a team leaving its gun can not crew it again? When the gun is knocked out that is normal.

Yeah, if you "bail out" of the gun, it cant be remaned.

  3. Has the gun been firing? There are a couple of tanks in your screenshot and, if the 88 has opened fire, the US, Green, 9-man squad with binoculars probably spotted the flash. It's appears to be late in the evening, 2040, and I suspect that the environmental conditions are less than perfect, although you don't appear to be playing with Shadows on so it's hard to tell, but I wouldn't be happy with that result either if the gun had not yet fired.

I ask because I've called 'foul' over spotting incidents like this myself.:o .

    No, the gun hadnt fired,

Another did fire the next turn and took out my 76mm Sherman :(

I still have the save if you want it, or anybody else.

PS: and youre right, I havnt been playing with shadows on...I hadnt even noticed!

Hey! Wait! I recognise that map so I know what the environmental conditions are. Glad to see someone has struggled through the revised campaign to the bitter (hopefully not too-bitter) end. But my original question stands. The 88 in question is on the edge of a forest behind tall bocage so it shouldn't get spotted until it has opened fire.

Its been a great ride, thank you so much for the campaign!
