  1. LOL you are play the wrong humans. :) Artillery is nasty. I often get seriously nailed by a good artillery barrage. I like to think that I can give as good ass I get too.

It happens every now and then usually on an AT gun or a strong position but nothing like the AI. Fighting the AI as soon as a battle starts they will hit 2 out of 3 of your AT guns first turn lol

  2. Hear, Hear!

Let's picket Juju's workplace until he agrees to do the CMFB UI soonest.

Bleeding eyes, huh? That's odd, all I get from the vanilla UI is a twitch in my left eyebrow and numbness down my right arm...

I hear the vanilla UI causes different problems in some people. I just wish BF would make a new UI or pay for JUJUs it really adds a lot more immersion to the game

  3.

Erm... no. I was simply pointing out that if you wanted to see what I was talking about (the Russian forces being over/under represented) in a lot more detail then you could bring up some of the older threads talking about it in great detail. I was lazily avoiding typing out a long post as its already been covered. Not your point about Ratnik specifically, but in general.

I was joking lol I hope you didnt take it seriously bud :P

  4. This looks a lot like the infamous "Land Warrior" system the US Army was looking into (and quickly dropped due to it being ridiculous) around 5 or so years ago. Anyone remember this? The Land Warrior system boasted literally the same stuff as this video boasted. Helmet mounted cameras and personal GPS's and everyone has a tablet and blah blah blah.

Point is it wasn't close to being practical and never went anywhere. I'm guessing that this is the Russian equivalent, and that they have just gone one further by already assuming the system works and how "revolutionary" it will be.

So no, to answer your thread question, the Russian army is not under equipped. There are an abundance of forum topics that dig into this very question, and it has been answered quite thoroughly that if anything the Russians in CMBS are OVERrepresented. If you want to know more, the forum has a search function.

Oh snap here comes the forum nazi with his search function advice lol Much easier to just start a new thread than bring a 8-10 page dead one back to life

  5. 90% of the gear described in the video is soldier level equipment, in that it would make no difference of soldier effectiveness. Body armor, clothing, helmets, thermal/NVGs doesn't really need to be modeled as a new system in game. The only thing that could make a difference in game is their C2 systems and the laser designator.

When it actually sees combat, and can be proven as effective, then maybe we could see it in game. Until then, it is propaganda. The technology that they have shown in that video, or its described capabilities is seemingly over the top. Effective and small laser designators or range finders to each individual soldier is quite a claim. Some of the technology described has been available for some time, and been in experimentation with the US Army, and probably a few other governments.

If I could equate these claims to Cold War comparison, when the USSR came out with the Mig-25 Foxbat, NATO allies were scared of it. To counter, they produced the F-15. Then we got a hold of it, and it turns out the Foxbat was garbage and that out of our fear we created the best air superiority fighter to ever serve.

Bottom line, I'm extremely skeptical of the practicality and capability of this new system until it meets the enemy in combat.

I feel like NVGs and the communications would be amazing. I understand Russia's Military isnt fully modernized but at the rate they are moving its fair to say if they were fighting nato in 2017 they would field their latest and greatest

  6. Its not announced yetbut if you read the CMFB PDF youll see: " Future expansions (modules and packs) will expand Final Blitzkrieg to include additional nations, forces, and equipment, and extend the timeline of the Western Front all the way to VE (Victory Europe) Day in May 1945."

Finally Getting real tired of the later war stuff.. After all this gets cleaned up we can finally have Combat Mission: First Blitzkrieg with the module Second Blitzkrieg

  7. Ok i went into the AMD control panel and changed some settings.. Overrided the games AA and there was a OpenGL triple buffering and i enabled this.. Well my FPS is acting really crazy now its has gone from 10-20 on a medium battle to 20-120 lol It just jumps all over the place idk if this is an improvement or not

  8. I dont care what anyone here says the AI cheats with arty If you leave anything in one spot for too long no matter where it is on the map the AI will bring arty down on it and it will always be pin point accurate. I have only been playing PBEMs for a month and have noticed arty is not nearly as scary when fighting humans.. might kill and AT gun or bang up a squad nothing serious, but AI with arty will wipe out platoons and hit all your AT guns on the first turn =p

  9. How optimized are the CMx2 games for AMD. I open fraps and even on company sized battles i average at 20fps on max settings... This doesnt seem right considering my specs and how other games run on my PC.

    Windows 7-64bit

    Intel core i5-4690k 3.5 GHz

    1TBWD Blue 7200 RPM 64MB cache

    8gig ram DDR3 1866

    120 gig SSD

    Radeon R9 290 4GB 512-bit

I never really noticed till a friend and I were on TS doing a PBEM and i was complaining about performance and he said he was getting like 50 fps on an older Nivida card with the same cpu as me. So it just got me wondering if any other AMD users here have performance issues?? I get around 20 fps in CMBN, CMFI, CMRT, and CMBS lol

  10. I don't think BF can "upgrade" Shock Force since it is such an old game.  They would basically start over and create a new Shock Force that would be up-gradable as the newer CM games are.  There are some forum threads discussing this.  Shock Force is a great setting and with mods can portray many of the real world current events.  AIUI since this would have to be a new game (not just an-upgrade) I would happily pay $75 for it.

CMSF is set in 2008 and that is a good starting point since BF already started there.   Now I know I'm dreaming a bit but .......... If BF could make a "new engine" 2008 Shock Force and then, over time, expand a new family of Middle Eastern games to include the Abrab / Israeli wars and also bring them forward to the present with ISIS etc., this would be really cool.  Also with the continuing conflicts in that region mod builders will probably always have new RL material for scenarios etc.

75 dollars would be reasonable considering all the work it would take
