@JasonC
Who are you?

Very nice video. It looked so cool that I connected my computer to the 54" flat screen TV to watch it. Until the wife wanted the TV and made me disconnect it ........... Thanks for sharing.
LOL...thank you for the compliment. I'm glad you liked it. You want to know a secret? I too watch YouTube and my own videos on a 58 inch Plasma TV screen. My wife thinks I'm nuts.
-
That was fun to watch! It was like watching an old war documentary with the combat camera crew filming the action.
Thanks for posting it.
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
-
LOL...glad to have been of help.
-
My most recent video after action report.
-
It sure is. Definitely have the eye for camera work.
-
Glad you liked the video and didn't think I was derailing your thread
I'm still waiting for video from you with respect to the rest of the battle.
-
Call in the Blackhawks to extract them!

I always read your stuff Bill.

Beginning my first stab at scenario creation. Thanks for this most excellent resource.

Impressive sound mod. I like the camera angles you use, shows dramatically in the video. Still always amazing to watch that rate of fire when it cranks up. Got to love the mg tweak battlefront did with 3.0. I bet no in sleeps soundly in your house while you play.
Also, just amazes me the destruction that ISU-152 makes...what a beast! Definitely a block buster.
-
Someone correct me if im wrong but the IS-1 was mostly used from spring of '44 through the summer? After that they became a much rarer beast.
They became available in fall of 43, at least the first version. Small numbers though.
-
Yes, I have been doing that for literally thousands of hours since May, 2011, and still couldn't remember if it was left for forward/back, right for pan, or what, without the game in front of me!
LOL. I've always thought this method of camera control was a pretty decent way to do this. Gives you precise control actually. Never understood the statements of people disliking camera control. Perhaps they were only using the keyboard commands and didn't realize you have this other option?
-
How do you get such smooth camera movement?
And I don't mean panning and turning the camera, I mean slow forward movement.
From the looks of it, you do it with the mouse, is there something I've missed with camera movement? The mouse only moves the camera up/down/left/right as far as I know.
As mentioned in another post, hold your left mouse button and move mouse forward or backward. If you want to pan left or right smoothly, right click and hold on mouse and move right or left. Been that way since the beginning. of this series.
-
Hold down Right Click (or is it Left Click?) and move the mouse forward/ back, Oddball.
Just left click hold, move mouse. Right click hold and pan for left and right.
-
And here is part two. It was a very tough battle. I do recommend you guys try this one and if you do, let us all know how you do.

The most lonely, frustrated depressed person in the world must be the guy who writes "the manual." For what-ever product it may be.
-
Battles raged along the entire Eastern Front during this time and you could only come up with two campaigns? Why not a Lvov-Sandomierz campaign? Or the Germans trying to liquidate the Vistula bridgehead? Or the Stanislaus operation? There's a boatload of material and all we got were two campaigns.
When you get out of your pre-teens and mature, you'll realize how asinine your post was. Until then, try and say as little as possible.

There is a most recent scenario added to the repository called "Block Busting in Bokruisk." It is an old ASL scenario converted to RT. I have a video AAR I'm making of it. Part one is already listed here in the forums.

Nice work!! You like city fights? You might want to take a look at CMRT Fester Platz Polozk then, which I hope will be up on the repository some time today.
Well done.
Thanks, actually just downloaded it. Looking forward to playing it.
-
Beautiful scenario. Currently playing it and enjoying it immensely. Have made a video after action of it. Kudos to the scenario designer.
-
Major like .... I would love to see full trees on but that is just my opinion.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks. I do watch with trees on in replays myself, along with just trunks but in this film with other's viewing it I wanted to make sure you see action in the woods.
-
That was quick, didn't that scenario just come out?
How are you getting that smooth panning?
Yep, scenario just came out in the repository. I love city fights so I had to try this one out immediately. I'm not sure what you are asking with respect to smooth panning. I have a pretty decent machine so CMx2 runs well on it.

Nice handling of the camera, and in real time too it seems.
Thanks. Not in real time. Turn based only.

I remember a scenario from the old CMBB which had Nashorns, a platoon of them IIRC. The German (player's) defensive positions were way at the end of the map, it was a long map IIRC and there were good positions for the Nashorns in hull down just behind the infantry company you were protecting. When the scenario started and the AI Russian player sent tanks it was a beauty to behold watching those Nashorns in action at great distances. Always loved that scenario. Been thinking actually of loading up my old CMBB in order to cherry pick scenarios from it to convert to CMRT, giving due credit to original scenario creators of course.
