  1. I guess my question was rather badly phrased. Will we ever see stuff: textures, buildings, guns, tanks, animations, whatever. developed by a 3rd party added into one of Battlefront's CM games. So a company makes a Winter War game, and it has Russian units that don't appear in Battlefronts Eastern Front CM game. Would it then be possible for those new units to be added into Battlefront's game?
  2. I was just wondering, would BFC ever consider taking units from a 3rd party CM game, and adding them into one of BFC's CM games? For example, if a company were to make a WW2 game and they included a French TO&E. Could it then be added into CM:N or one of its modules? Oh, and a ZSU-23 would be a super awesome surprise for the NATO module.
  3. I've seen my BMP's orient their guns onto question marks as they approach. So I am pretty sure it does effect the AI's spotting capabilities, at least the fairly recent ? do.
  4. I think its BFC's policy to release a demo for all of its games. At least that has been true when dealing with the CM series.
  5. I had a case where my BMP-2's driver was killed, and the vehicle immobilized. Shortly afterward the gunner panicked and abandoned the vehicle. When he came back to his senses, I ordered the gunner to re-man the BMP, but upon re-manning the vehicle he got in as the driver. While in another case a T-55 with all but one crewmen dead continued to operate normally. The single crewmen would take over whichever spot was needed. If I ordered a move order he would switch to driver, and when targets were spotted he would become the gunner.
  6. I would like to point out that CM:SF does not reproduce "blind fire". The gunner will only fire at known enemy targets, rather than hosing down likely fire positions. Often times our virtual gunners are being shot to hell without offering any return fire at all. Whereas a real gunner could at least return fire, if inaccurately, causing some suppression. Also, I am not sure how prevalent this is, but passengers do not fire out of their windows either. This, combined with the lack of "blind fire" for gunners severely depletes a 1114's suppression ability. However, I cannot help but think something is up with 1114 gunners. Especially considering their near 100% casualty rate. Unless used in a purely supporting fire roll.
  7. Does BF currently have an idea of CM:A's price point?
  8. I am currently playing another PBEM, and the same thing happened my opponent.
  9. Barricade, I would be up for a small PBEM game. However, I am unable to play real time, due to satellite internet. PM me if interested. You could also check around here for some opponents, http://www.the-proving-grounds.com/chat.html
  10. I think someone else had a similar problem awhile back. Anyway, I am pretty sure Steve said it was fixed.
  11. Thanks for the reminder Pad, I forgot all about Tom Chick, and too think, he was the one to get me hooked onto the CM series.
  12. 1. Will there be any changes to Quick Battles and/or OOB force selection with the release of the British Add-on? no idea 2. Separation of map size from force size (like big map with small forces in Quick Battles)? no idea 3. Ability to select forces in Quick Battles? Most likely no, the whole QB system is being revamped for Normandy. 4. Easier selection of forces from the OOB (hate having to select something then delete stuff I don't want, just to get what I want)? Probably not, I heard BFC was changing this. But, I think they were talking about how they add forces to the TO&E during development. Of course this is from my limited knowledge. So don't put too much stock in what I said.
  13. I know the main game has had 2-3 patches so far. So that might be the reason for the difference. However so far in the demo I have seen the AI take cover just a couple of times. Enough to notice it, but not enough to affect gameplay. What gets me about the performance is that I can run Crysis on DX9 high, with some lag when there are a ton of explosions. But can't fight more than a 20 guys in A2 without lag. I am guessing its finally time to get a new video card.
  14. RSColonel_131st, do you play with post-processing effects on? I turned them off after 5 minutes, they gave me the worst headache. Anyway how does it run for you? I have an intel Pentium D 3.0 processor, 3 gigs of RAM, and a Nvidia 7800 GTX and can barely get 20 FPS with everything on low.
  15. So I am looking into trying out a PBEM game. I am up for playing as anything, be it bluefor or opfor, and would prefer a smallish sized game.
  16. Yea, there is a lean animation now. Its seems the A.I. has been improved a bit, they now recognize concealment and cover. Really, if you liked Arma you'll like Arma 2. However if you want something new you'll probably have to wait for OFP2.
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-a72_Sxta1c, just in case some of you missed it.
  18. I've never purchased a game from Battlefront's online store, partly because of my ISP's download cap. However, I perused the online sales information, while I was considering the purchase of CM:BB, and I quickly found out about the 1 year download limit. But, I think a improved way of informing the user, as mat said, could be helpful. Especially when you consider the number of CMX1 players who will make the jump to CM:N. Mat, if you could find someone to burn you a copy of CM:SF you could use that to install the game. On a side note, from what I read earlier BFC gets charged per download?
  19. Afreu, just to let you know, the repository currently has a working download of the map.
  20. I've got to say, this thread alone has sold me on this game.
  21. Currently a Stryker Platoon has very little in the way of AT weapons. Sure they might be able to knock out BMP's, but they will just get rolled over by armor, when in reality they could have easily wiped out a platoon of heavy tanks.
  22. Yea, but when they run up on a T-72 or Bradley, for that matter, it really doesn't do more than rattle the hornets nest.
  23. Some scout squads have them, but that still is more of a M240 team than a squad.
  24. Currently it's not possible to tow other vehicles out of a bogging.
  25. I just played your scenario, and I found it rather enjoyable. possible spoilers below I stayed on the road for the first two minutes, but after one of the passengers was hit, I also felt I should tell my guys to do something, they hightailed it to the single building on the left of the 1114. We held there until the QRF got to us. final score 0 BLUFOR KIA 1 BLUFOR WIA, oddly enough it was one of the Gunners in the QRF.
