The discussion is getting as ugly as the real-world circumstance. As far as the religious distinction of populaces goes - they all worship the same god. Jew, Catholic, Muslim and Protestant - all worship Jaweh. Which would lead you to believe that the problem lies with the people, not the religion. Try talking about where the money is / is not going - that'll more likely lead you to a solution.

Odd:confused: Works fine for me. Open paint, open CMSF, get into game. Hit print screen, Alt-tab to paint, use mouse to click onto new page and Ctrl-v. I'm not particularly 'puter savvy (they tolerate me, barely); maybe OS? maybe graphics card? Maybe 'puters are even less tolerant of you than me?

I'd expect a backup comms system to be in place at some level - brigade? You could design the units with redundant circuits to be cut in when the originals get fried (and hope no-one decides to let off a second EMP) but this would be expensive. As far as the tablets (in the Strykers) are concerned, I've been issued one to use in my job, but it's too unreliable. Having two weeks work disappear is no fun at all - I use pen and paper in the field and transcribe to a desk-top.

I'd say yes - small calibre stuff isn't going to move the dirt far (which means most of it will end up in the same hole as the cowering dude, who can then throw it back into place). Thanks for the clarification - turns out my comprehension wasn't. Arty doesn't take and hold ground, for that you need infantry. It does prepare routes for advance though - so if you believe you have the uber troop advantage (through command skill or perceived quality of the troops themselves) and you get lucky, you can fight the second part of the battle in defense, where your numerical disadvantage isn't so pronounced. Or come up against an opponent who knows how to counter the use of your artillery, bleeds you dry then comes on in and stomps on your outnumbered units. Managing odds is one part of the tactical toolbox - but managing the men and machines and the plan is most of it.

Mmm, carp. Quite possibly it is a healthy sign that someone feels free to express their anger in such a fashion: personally, at the man he holds responsible. Hi Vince. I haven't experienced this myself, but a search through the archives here shows it to be an occasional problem with few solutions offered; mostly to do with paying attention to ammo levels and morale. Are you only playing one set of parameters with the battles - or is it happening with all battle types (including scenarios)?

I prefer Kiwis - easier to catch than sheep and fewer teeth. As far as the original thread topic is concerned, stomp away USA!

My bad, that ought to have been writ as "nearly retirees" rather than "current retirees". So, are you saying that we shouldn't invest in shares? Or just that the risk/return equation is such that 5% return on guaranteed capital is a great way to go, whatever the state of the market? If the US doesn't get a handle on its financial woes, the value of the dollars the Treasury is paying isn't necessarily going to be worth the same as the value of the dollars paid for the bonds.
