announcement New CM:BN master installers!
SoopSandwich replied to Moon's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Michael, From what I understand you now download the master install (large file 10GB) which includes everything. Then you just activate the modules by typing in the serial numbers for them. I did this for the CW module and was painless and didnt have to uninstalll and reinstall everything in order. Soop -
Finding PBEM Opponent
SoopSandwich replied to SoopSandwich's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Thx for the replies. I started a game with stevenh5545. Wildcard thanks for the recommendation. After I posted this thread I saw the "Opponent Finders Forum" at the very bottom (duh!). "Few Good Men" and a couple of other sites were recommended there as well. I'll be checking them out. Thx -
Hi, I was wondering if there is a place to go to find people wanting to play a PBEM game. I have played Combat Mission since Shock Force but have never tried a PBEM game. I would still consider myself to be at a beginner skill level as I don't play that much. Is this the place to seek an opponent on the forum or is there somewhere else I should go? Thanks *I only have the base game and Market Garden module

RAMADI (Iraq): Mother of All MOUT Maps
SoopSandwich replied to LongLeftFlank's topic in CMSF Scenario and Mod Design Forum
Little off topic. I may be in the minority but I think all told the Rangers fared fairly well in the Battle of Mogadishu. I know the mission went sideways but Delta and the Rangers fought well and actually completed their objective. I believe between the Rangers and Delta there were 11 KIA but they inflicted heavy losses on the enemy (estimates range from 500 - 1000 killed and over a 1,000 wounded) with the help of the 160th little birds. During that time period the American Public was not used to that kind of battle after a long period of peace. I wonder how that battle would be viewed today after years of war in Iraq and Afghanistan.... I read the book "Joker One" and I am really looking forward to your Ramadi scenarios! -

How to remove protective mask carriers ?
SoopSandwich replied to Wiggum's topic in CMSF Scenario and Mod Design Forum
Ryujin, I downloaded this mod but I don't know what to do with the file. How do I get this to work and will it work with the multi-cam mod? Thanks -
I would like to see a kill list. I think this would be the single most important added feature for me. If the game kept a list of kills by squad I think I would pay much more attention to them and try and keep them from getting killed. Especially if a squad was showing they were more effective than another squad. I think the immersion factor in the game would definitely go up. I also noticed in the Battlefront post that it does not say anything about not doing a kill a list so I guess there is hope....

I thought I saw a post recently that linked to a tutorial on making scenarios but I can't find it now. Maybe someone else knows what it is or where it was..... -

Back Up Copy of CSMF?
SoopSandwich replied to SoopSandwich's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
After looking into this, are the "installer files" the files named CMSF_Setup.exe, CMSF_Marines_Setup.exe, CMSF_British_Setup.exe? Sorry just want to make sure I'm backing up the right files.... Thanks -

I purchased CMSF, Marine Module, And British Module by digital download. Now I want to make a back up CD. What files exactly do I burn to the back up disk that will allow me to reinstall the game on a new computer when I get one? Thanks

costard, You mention the American Geographical Society has topographical maps of Afghanistan. I went to their website but could not figure out how to get to the maps. Do you have a direct link to the maps? Thanks

When I give my units on foot the hunt command I've noticed they become fatigued after a relatively short distance. Is this something that was changed or could this be a new bug?
