  1. I figured I'd download the demo while at work and then just go straight home and fire it up. that's my plan. anyone standing between me and my plan will enter a world of pain.
  2. Damn, sou shouldn't have reminded us: we only have one year to play this game before the world ends. I wonder if they have personal computers in the afterlife.
  3. He that hopeth against logich shall inherith the demoh today.
  4. but it won't be before 6 pm for us Europeers, obviously. It's a full miserable workday to go still.
  5. but when you're selecting the vehicle for them to mount, you don't left-click but right click, right?
  6. I didn't have it before strangely. with versions 1 to 5. I have a Radeon 9600, it doesn't get any older than that so I should be OK, right? except i'm not. I have the latest catalyst bundle.
  7. And I have the ATI-click thing enabled in the options menu because without that i couldn't select anything.
  8. as i said above, i checked which ones i was trying them with, first just the Recon Strykers, then all of them but hell no. they sprint towards the vehicle then arrange themselves around it. the icon is green when i click on the Strykers, not yellow, it's empty (except for the driver and loader for the machinegun) so theoretically it should work. one things pops into my mind now. i also have problems when clicking on multiple storey buildings in the sense that sometimes the menu with the floor-option doesn't come up, instead it looks as if there was plain ground there, the waypoint appears as if there was no building. could this be a CLICK problem?
  9. I've seen it in almost all of the campaign scenarios in 1.06. Totally valid question - I got to a point where I tried mount them into ALL of the Strykers one after the other - none of that worked.
  10. We might be past this thing but I checked the fix-list for 0.7 and didn't see it there so I thought I'd just ask around if other people have the same problem. My troops just won't remount any vehicle they have dismounted from. This was especially annoying in the 5th or 6th scenario when you have a unpopulated large area with several ravines and three objective lines to reach, getting towards Obj. Diane. I'm sorry can't recall the title. So I have to dismount them so that they can use the Javelins but then the poor bastards have to walk all across the map because the re-mount thing juts doesn't work.
  11. I think the West was too involved in the Kosovo issue (given the war) to back out of this. They couldn't refuse support now since they themselves were bombing on behalf of the Kosovo Albanians. But the real reason...I really don't know.
  12. "But after the Kosovo issue they would have all the right to express their will for independancy and to wait for international support and recognition." International support and recognition either comes or it doesn't, you can wait for it and count on it till hell freezes over. Doesn't really matter what each minority gets a hard-on on unless SOMEBODY thinks it's a good idea.
  13. Yes, I also think it was a meaningless move. I don't think that it's especially dangerous or anything because it's all up to Russia and the UN and the US. I just can't figure out what the reason was behind this.
  14. I think Peter's got a point there. It's all about nation-building and the fact that this part of Europe is just decades if not hundreds of years behind. The Irish, the Basques etc have more or less realised that the ship is gone. They've been forcibly melted into some pot or other while ethnic groups in Eastern Europe or the Balkans were still having major issues post-1945. By the way some people tend to describe the WWII period for this part of Europe as a continuation of civil wars.
  15. Seems a bit far-fetched. Hitler annexed the Sudetenland. I don't see no Kosovan Hicler around hungry for world-domination. Unless you call the UN an evil empire trying to undermine Serbian sovereignty. or the US. because they let it happen. Also, why do people always draw parallels. Parallels don't mean chickenstew. Every historical event is linked to its context, makes sense only within that context, etc.
  16. I just read GSX's apocalyptic reply about uninstalling the game. Hm. I really don't get it. Getting all worked up about shortcuts. it's like the "outdated graphics" argument about wargames. Totally misplaced. the point being all the things BFC GETS RIGHT even at its worst which exceeds anything the market can throw at you at any time.
  17. i've been playing 1.05 since it came out. I just wanted to say what a freekin good game this is and what a freakin good team BFC are and what a good job they did. I pre-ordered this game and haven't been sorry and you've got a steady customer. And so on. And so forth.
  18. If they sold "I love BFC" pins, I'd be wearing them
  19. Tank Commander's got a point. How are we going to see what's going on when the lightning effects just turned realistic? I'm not bitching, I'm asking. Is pitch dark going to be pitch dark?
  20. that just explains why the americans won the war. with the secret wondercake.
  21. My grandpa was a conscript in the hungarian army, a slow peasant, retreated with the germans all the way to berlin. soviets took him prisoner, somehow got transferred to the americans who cut him loose and gave him "a small piece of cake that you put into water and it just expanded like crazy and the whole village came to see it." I'm eagerly waiting for the patch. so would my grandpa.
