sorry to keep going on about this but its driving me crazy.reinstalled CMBB yet again and for a brief period it worked fine.over wrote the BMP folder with the heavily modded back up and it crashed first time i highlighted a soviet halftrack. also i lose some BMP files completely at random.began with all mortars then guns on german halftracks and now i just lost all 38T's. in desperation i actually read the sticky at the top of this section...........my bad. theres a solution there regarding reinstalling direct x.this i do and.........nothing,still got same problem. this may stop me playing CMBB

i think that this immobile thing is one of those extremely rare glitches that do occur.never seen it myself but i have seen a halftrack float on a river,think there was a screenshot of that posted on here many moons ago.

thanks for trying mate but,alas,that did not work for me i carried out your instructions,loaded game,opened editor,selected a few allied HT's and AC's,previewed map,dragged a box around them and the game crashed.unhandled exception error c0000005 at address 73789e76. i've got this rotten problem now.it only occurs when i highlight a russian HT or AC.i uninstalled CMBB then reinstalled but it still happened.it also affects a second CMBB installation i have(just to get a new BMP folder) that has never been played. would anyone know if there are any registry entries to be deleted when uninstalling this game ?

so does that mean that it was a codec problem ? i remember that was common some years back,well,for me at least.

i can recommend 81.95 and i've not had any problems with new games.

i think CMBB's native resolution is 1024x768.anything higher will compress the selection screens.i use 1280x1024 as in scenario editor you can see all terrain elements on one page.does not effect game play either.

only a guess but i had a big upgrade two years ago.i put my trusty Ti4600 into moth balls and bought a 7800GT.installed,what was,the latest drivers and could not play CMBO.removed driver with a free utility called "driver cleaner" installed 81.95 and hey presto CMBO ran a treat. worth a try mate.

bit late on this but the power demand will be boarderline.too close to contemplate considering what it costs for a new 600W+ psu. as socket 939 is now dead you would have to weigh up any cpu upgrades but that 3700 SD would overclock to at least 2.7 which is around 20% more umpth.

i just bought a copy of XP pro,too many variables with vista for my liking.some people have next to no problem playing games while others get the sort of grief that makes consoles look attractive. there appear to be some issues with vista and current top end nvidia cards and their latest drivers.not my experience but what i've picked up from various forums.

just finished it in the KOTH 2 tourney as allied and will shortly begin playing it as axis in another pbem.both sides have advantages and disadvantages that balance out,its up to you how you deploy and twist the battle to suit your forces

i recommend ring of fire from the KOTH 2 tourney.now that i finished it and had a look from both angles it is about as even a fight as is possible imho.

John Kettler, never claimed to be "that good",i just have masochistic tendencies i've completed,probably,over a hundred pbems,lost about half.i enjoy them but also feel the need to play the AI too. interesting what you say about the differencies in CMBO.i not played that as much as i should as CMBB was released only weeks after i discovered CMBO. The_Enigma thanks for the recommendations,i've downloaded dozens recently and been sent quite a few including some of those HSG scenarios.will check them out,cheers. if anyone has any more toughies then please let me know.

could anyone please recommend some scenarios that are difficult to near impossible to win v the AI.i enjoy a challenge but despite downloading a few i'm finding that i'm not being stretched sufficiently. before anyone starts,no i'm not claiming to be uber,i just like a tough battle. CMBB or CMAK as i've temporarily mislaid my CMBO disc.

i found the "white mortar" thread but it appears no solution was found. i get no problems when i use my wifes pc with either cmbb or cmak but with this one cmak has always given white vehicles/terrain tiles on occasion.if i restart the scenario they revert to normal.i've tried various graphics drivers and settings but nothing sorted that one either. never had any such thing occur with cmbo. i'm putting it down to a glitch.

i know this sounds daft but recently i've begun to lose bmp files.only from CMBB and seemingly at ramdom.i honestly have not fiddled with my bmp folder for some months and i dont use a mod manager. it began when i restarted a saved game that i was halfway through.as soon as it loaded i noticed that the soviet R-2 tanks were pure white.i ignored it at first but then noticed that other bmp's were missing too,such as all mortars,interior of kubelwagen and Sd KFZ 7 and most annoyingly all building roofs. got the vehicles sorted thanks to CMMODS but despite replacing many building files i cannot get my roofs back. i made a second installation of CMBB and copied and pasted that bmp folder into the original but to no avail....still no roofs. anyone got any ideas ?

i've seen lost battalion,its the most recently made WW1 film.focus is on a US infantry battalion that advances into a seam in the german defences then gets cut off.its ok but the action scenes save it.
