  1. >Do signals get erased by less important signals No, they don't But Signal Source button moves the camera to the last important signal.
  2. There are three possible solutions that now come to my mind: 1. Try to update tha latest video drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_163.71.html If they are the latest, try to rollback to one of the previous, probably more stable version. 2. Open towsetup tool, switch off sound there. 3. Check your hardware. Some users reported, that changing cooler or memory card helped to solve the issue. 3. We are currently working on the multiplayer patch. It will be issued as soon as possible.
  4. That's right. When you press the key the camera jumps to the last important signal and the pause mode is switched on (in Single Player mode). The following signals are considered to be important: - vehicle death - artillery death - engine damage
  5. There are 2 issues known: 1. Always run the game as administrator, otherwise there will be problems with making save files and changing options. 2. If you have any problems with the launching the game, try to update or rollback video drivers to the stable version. If you want to make sure everything works OK, try the demo from http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/demo.html Also if you still have any problems look through http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/troubleshooting.html for possible solution. 6. I advise you to download game demo, try to play and check if it works OK.
  7. It seems to me there is something wrong with the driver or hardware. If you have the latest driver version try to rollback to one of the previous. Also make sure both CPU and videocard coolers work ok. What version of the game do you play? What are the last messages in the log.lst file? Do you have cppcrash directory with *.dmp files inside it (in Theatre of War's path) after the crash? [ October 04, 2007, 03:34 AM: Message edited by: dmg ]
  8. Fredrikdenstore, some more questions: 1. Did you run tow1_4.exe or tow.exe? Do these files work similarly (with the same bad framerate)? 2. What FPS do you have when you press pause button in the game?
  9. Yes, you should. Otherwise saving will not be permitted. To launch the game as administrator every time, set the Run As Administrator checkbox in the application properties (right click on the application icon, then choose properties item in the popup menu).
  10. The screenshot with the low FPS measured by Fraps of any of these missions would be appreciated. By the way, what version of the full game do you have? Is it Polish or English one? (The version of the game is shown in the top right corner of the main menu.) What about the single mission (not the training one) in the demo? Does it work without any lack of performance too? If yes, could you make a simple test: 1. Copy the single mission from Missions\SINGLE_MISSIONS directory of the Demo into the same directory of the final version. 2. Run them sequentially (first demo, then the final release) and compare their performance. It would be fine if you made 2 screenshots of these 2 cases (with FRAPS measuring FPS) and showed them. 11. What missions do you play when you have 4 FPS? Could you make a screenshot and a save while the performance is so low, then pack them into an archive and send to gavd@1c.ru ? (the save directories are created in .\users\player[X]\)
  12. Fredrikdenstore , also, please, check the following video driver's options: - hardware acceleration set to single display mode. - switch off anisotropic filtering [ September 07, 2007, 01:12 AM: Message edited by: dmg ]
  13. That's strange. The performance should not be so low. We will investigate this issue. Did you try to install the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/Setup.exe from the list of AMD tools and patches (for mobile processors I've just found another link: http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_14098,00.html )?
  14. Some more questions\ideas: Does the FPS change when you set lower or high video settings? Is your CPU overclocked? Do you have antivirus or any other resident applications working when playing the game? Could you temporally switch them off and check the performance? Try to switch OFF Use only one CPU option and check the performance again.
  15. What FPS do you have? Can you measure it by FRAPS ( http://www.fraps.com/download.php )?
  16. Fredrikdenstore, did you try the following? - Installing the latest video driver ( http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_162.18.html ) - Tuning video driver's settings: -------- Set "Threaded Optimizations" to OFF -------- Set "Extension Limit" to OFF -------- Set "Triple Buffering" to ON - Downloading and installing AMD-64 patches at http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9706,00.html http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/amdcpusetup.exe - Switching ON Use only one CPU option in the towsetup tool - Switching OFF Use Sound or EAX in the towsetup tool
  17. Fredrikdenstore, could you describe in full detail your system configuration? 1. What is your OS? 2. What CPU do you have? 3. How much RAM do you have? 4. What Video Card do you have? How much memory does the video card have?
  18. Try to use the performance tweaks at http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/troubleshooting.html#performance_tweaks
  19. Try to install the following patches http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9706,00.html http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/amdcpusetup.exe They should eliminate the problems with the mouse cursor and the performance issues. The camera might uncontrolledly move because of the bug with the mouse cursor that is at the border of the screen.
  20. Of course, we are going to look at all the bugs we find.
  21. Also make sure that the path to the tow.exe does not contain explanation marks (!) and non-English letters. E.g. D:\games!!!\ToW\Tow.exe - is a wrong path. D:\games\Tow\Tow.exe - is a correct path.
  22. We are working on the future patches and addon's. But it is too early to talk about their release date. We are still giving support.
  23. 1. Make sure your CPU and Video card are not overclocked. Overclocking may cause a non-stable work and in this case we won't be able to help you. 2. Polish version as well as the latest ones do not contain "tow_1.4.exe" file. This file was a temporary fix of the bug with the crash after closing the application on ATI video cards. Now it is completely fixed and there is no need to search and run tow_1.4.exe. 3. Please, download the Fraps tool http://www.fraps.com/download.php , measure your FPS inside the game when it is so slow and tell the results. 4. How much RAM do you have? For comfortable playing it must be 1 Gb. 5. Also pay your attention to the troubleshooting guide: http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/troubleshooting.html
  24. Run the game as administrator (see Properties item in the popup menu of the application icon).
