  1. ah hehe sorry, the homepage was the Canadian armor. Must have copied the later link to non-Canadian units mixedin with Canadian there ARE WW2 Canadian camo schemes in there are there not? But yes. T55's are all over the Canadian border.........
  2. I know this is an old thread, but what the heck I will bump it with a question of my own. Thats a great list j2d, but is there also a list that has all man made terrain stuff? Like building and wire, pillboxes, trenches. I know I can go through all the stuff on cmmods and I will, just hoping there was list out there
  3. don't know if this has made the rounds. Interesting site. Especially these days when researching on the net only leads you to a book to purchase for $50.................... remember when the net had free images on it? Sigh. http://www.armouredacorn.com/ncvm.html
  4. I can play ya, but for future reference there is a forum in here that is for email PBEM requests. It is at bottom of list so I had to have it pointed out to me as well. Unless you have posted there in which case I apologize.
  5. I have the topo mods and I have the bmp patch for it. But I am getting weird ice blue rocks at high altitude. The squares look ok I guess, they are just covered in blue rocks or splotches. What is this? I will post screen shot if no one understand what I am talking about. I would assume this has been seen before
  6. Yes, Thank you! It is all working now. The pics loaded in and all the text is there. Thanks Gautrek!
  7. Ok, I got my XP office to update and I got to open RTF file but it has no images. The boxes for the images are there, but empty. Gautrek, is there some setting I need to do in office to make them appear? Thanks! [ March 22, 2007, 07:39 PM: Message edited by: Cabe ]
  8. Yes, but the tutorial I have, I think it is yours, is in some weird format that I cannot open. I guess it is rich text file. But I cannot find my dang office XP disk to load the converter. I had the disk right here in my disk storage book..... now like everything else when you need it, it has vanished. So I will do my best to get it open and look over your tutorial. As it is, I am stuck with what I am doing until I can get my hands on something that explains in detail how to do layers in Photoshop. I have used Photoshop a lot in my career for basic image manipulation, but never the more adavnced features like layers and such
  9. For future reference, would one of those rounds take out a big cat? My use of priests is a very timid affair. Hiding them until the larger units are engaged, dead or out of sight. But knowing that if i Had 2 or 3 priests engage a tiger or panther knowing that he can only kill one at a time....... Have em all just wail on it. Would be a very nice trade even if the cat took out 2 or even all of them in the exchange. The stu42 that got assploded was a surprise to me as the priest was reversing to get behind a ridge out of site when it decided to target a fire at the stug. I was backing it out to allow my M10s to deal with the Stu42 when the axis AFV just popped like a giant fire pimple. I had to rewind the action to find out what happened to the poor fella. When I saw it was the mobile arty I was assuming it was a lucky hit on the top of the hull. Nope. I have been experimenting, (not much of experiment than a revelation) with the British units and the 17 pounder equipped units a) I was not aware that the Achilles is a super duper M10. I always just assumed it was a UK version with a comparable gun.... but now I know it is a hot knife for all the butter out there. I had been using the static version of the 17 pounder with great success, now I know that I have a great way to make it mobile other than the archer (another fav of mine.) the shermans of the UK have the 17lb gun too. I was very slow on realizing the destructiveness of the firefly variants, maybe because I always used them carelessly or thought that life was over without a tungsten loadout. Now I know to hide them and use them wisely. A 17 pounder equipped on a tank. I will take 10 please. Of course loading out en masse with Achilles seems like a good plan as well, considering that if a Tiger hit my tank it is going to get waxed anyway. Might as well put the 17lb on a portee and I will reverse my way to victory. I would have been more knowledgeable of all this if I spent my WW2 knowledge on tanks rather than planes. I can tel you what a tank is, but as to the effectiveness of its gun, that is something I always need to double check. My biggest peeve about the CM series is the complete lack of info when at the purchase screen I wish someone could mod the game to make it give more info maybe by integrative the http://cmak.jemian.com/ (CMAK database) As it is I have now started ALT tabbing out to check my available purchased with the comments and info there. 10. here it is with lighter blue splotches Of course my in game setting have it set to a dark gamma. SO I have no idea what it will look like on your screen I have tried to stay historically accurate and keep it easy on the eyes by weathering and scuffing it to keep it from looking like a birthday cake..... makes me wonder if this was an alpine winter camo scheme? Doesn't say when I find shots of it.
  11. Yeah, I am taking color samples off the actual die cast model via a photo. It wouldn't take any time at all to pop the blues out. You are referring to the blue teardrop or claw shaped splotches in the tan pattern right? The are a slate blue, but I guess they need to pop a bit
  12. I toned the color down to be less vibrant. Let me know if this is easier on the eyes. The tan is more brown less white The green is less forest grn and more towards olive.
  13. Yeah, from now on I am saving a bmp of the pink areas just to place over the finished mod. I can't deal with the pink!
  14. I think so. The after action report said my tiger did, but I am pretty sure that that brummbar did, and then I had the tiger cook it since he got an angle the next turn. Being new to the game I don't know if it is possible and since the second unit was not visible.... yet i did hear the commotion and resulting yelling from both units. Is it possible the an air burst occurred from the first unit causing casualties to the next? I will say that I did take out a stu42 in 1 shot today with a priest which surprised me. I didn't know he could do that. Let me rephrase, the stu42 EXPLODED. I love that. It was a hit from the side from about.... well I am bad with meters being American... so let's say 500 yards or more.
  15. Well I found out how I got those nasty pink spots. You know the darker ones that are so hard to get rid of once they show up as in the pic in this thread called pinkcabe (I don't know if I like "Pink Cabe") but anyhoo, I go those because I will take a bmp and set it to 400-700 pixels an inch in photoshop "image size". This allows me to put small scratches and rust ect with fine detail. Then when done I set it back to 72 (or whatever the default was) on the bmp. When it reverts back to 72 ppi the pink areas get these little edges that we are seeing there. I guess because it redraws itself when you set it to higher resolution. I have got around this problem, by creating a only pink layer and saving it separately in a folder labeled as such for access while working on the mod. never changing its resolution or anything. Just keeping it safe away from my work until I need it. That way I can just place the pink layer file over the bmp I was working on. Of course, bmps with no pink areas I can just go nuts with without worry. But he pink ones..... they are little batsages.
  16. yes it is pretty colorful. I have seen it many places now as I search. Last night I actually saw it on the cover of a book about ww2 camo... on ebay I think. "I thought oh wow, there it is a again, at least I know it is definitely legit and not dreamed up." I might tone down the green and tans. It is pretty bright right now.
  17. hmmm bought it at micro center about 2 months ago.,
  18. so is that a challenge or a warning? Challenge= good warning= plz explain
  19. yep gonna be a real curve ball.............cricket
  20. Here is my second mod. Slow goin.... much more bmps to toil over [ March 21, 2007, 02:06 AM: Message edited by: Cabe ]
  21. oh it turned out all right, My tiger, brummbar and a Stug IIIF showed So did 2 25-1 HTs my 150inf gun, a large PAK and 2 squads. He ended up with 1 Sherman, a greyhound, 2 priests and troops. Needless to say the minute they peeked over the hill, there was a burning Sherman, some scrambling troops and an abandoned Greyhound. When the priests did a scoot and shoot hull down on top of the hill I just used the brummbar to area target the tip of the hill. As the priest moved forward, a very large artillery shell passed just over the rise through the upper carriage of the lightly armored vehicle. Right through the crew and gun. I assume the shell continued on past hitting the other priest sitting on the road behind the first because it never showed again Now that is "casualty"
  22. I guess I am starting a definitive post on rarity in case someone, like me, does a search and doesn't come up with any answers. The manual on the disk does a pretty good job explaining it. But the other day I was playing a game and when we started to place units many of them were MISSING. When I mentioned that many of my units were missing, he said "That's called rarity my friend". What? Rarity make purchased unit not show up randomly? I was calling "BS" on that. Was he right or was it something to do with casualty settings? Can casualties make an entire tank or squad disappear at the start? [ March 20, 2007, 10:54 PM: Message edited by: Cabe ]
