  1. hmmm I selected 1360x1024 @60......WTF is that? looks good though well, here is goes. It looks great but of course, PBEM Helper crashes the game saying that resolution isn't supported. Why does PBEM helper have any say on my resolution settings?
  2. yes but would that keep it letter boxed? I don't mind the black bars on the side as long as I get the screen filled as much as possible in a 4:3 format. My manual here says it would run 1280x1084 at 60, 70 0r 75 also says it would run at 1600x1200 @ 60, but I don't get that option when I go through the options at start. Is it something i need to do with the 850xt? Do I need to set a profile or force resolution or maybe add resolution settings to my list somehow?
  3. depends on what turn it is i believe and what is going on, I have no idea why they vary. Some are 88k then the next is 1.5mb
  4. Ok, how big of a file? I have all the turns zipped, but I could cut down to around 10 instead of 20 or 30>>>> which is still 12mb zipped
  5. I am having a hard time making a decision still on my resolution preferences. If I go 4:3 on my 22" the graphics look great but the screen is so freaking small. If I go with native or other wide screen settings it is stretched of course. Is there a 4:3 setting or something in between that would fill more of the screen left to right without losing the top and bottom? I have plenty of room to spare top and bottom too. My native is 1680x1050. Do I need to force some sort of resolution to make the game work? I don't get many choices when I start CMAK or BB when going through all the setting. I have seen some mentioned here that I don't get offered. So I need to know is there a way to update my choices ? I don't want to affect my resolution outside of the game, I just need the selections to show when I am choosing at the start after deleting the preferences file. Radeon 850xt and a Sceptre x22 gamer widescreen
  6. Credits! as I fart around with this PBEMH program I am learning more and more about why things don't work. Like setting the "additional working folder" FYI, don't make the folders yourself or they don't work because the program didn't create the path itself. And then if you try to set the folders Windows will see folders of the same name and block them from being created just like you would see on screen if you did it in any other situation when trying to name a file identical to another in the same area. But you never see this failure occur when PBEMH tries, because it is behind the scenes. You have to let PBEMH make the folders by using the option in the PBEMH option menu. Then you have to do this for BOTH games, once for CMBB then switch the game selection in the top window of the PBEMH console to CMAK and hit the same "Set additional working folder" button again. Then you save your received CMAK and CMBB txt and zip files IN the CMAK or CMBB "my documents" alternate working directory folder, NOT OUTSIDE it. The hit refresh in PBEMH, it should then give you the play option. So save everything besides actual PBEMH files inside the the CMAK my docs directory for the corresponding game. When getting actual PBEMH files, instead of saving them in your CMBB or CMAK actual directory PBEM file, just open the file while it is still attached to the incoming email and it will go into the PBEMH program and be updated/recognized automatically, you will then see a "play" option. If not, hit refresh, but you shouldn't have to. If you did decide to save your PBEMH files instead of doing what I just mentioned, you will be overwriting other games you may have in progress.. because PBEMH files are named the same and are not numbered (no extensions to differentiate them from other PBEMH game files) and you would end up overwriting some other PBEMH game file, not good. So open them in the email (in the attachment), if it asks what what program you want to use to open the file choose the PBEMH program and it shouldn't ever ask again. Now I still don't understand why I get weird time stamp errors where it says this game is in the future "Corrected" blah blah ect. I have my time zone set correctly in the PBEMH program. All I know is it woks anyway so I don't worry about it until I stumble across a solution.
  7. Hmm, I was sure I responded to this post, but I don't see it, Maybe I missed something in the state of my brain right now. Thanks for all the compliments. I am so very tired. This past week I had 4 paintings due, had already done 2 over the weekend. On Monday I started painting and I did not sleep until 39 hours later. I thought that was rough. Problem being is that once I had stayed up so long it was time to paint he next one. So I didn't sleep. I got an 8 hours in and woke up around 8pm on wednesday evening. Feeling somehwat rested I saw my deadlines looming even closer. So of course I was up all that night into the next, and then the next......After 56 hours I finally decided the last 2 paintings wouldn't be worth damn (oh, did I mention another client dropped a bomb on me on Monday morning , or as I called this week "afternoon part deux") If I was dead, so I went to sleep Saturday afternoon around 5pm and woke up a around 11 pm to finish a painting that needed to be at a club by 2am. Then I had to sit down and work on a painting that was due by 4pm on that same day (Sunday now) say down with my overhead projector to draw in all the text (it was kids show so it was all cartoon and colors , "Thomas the train") turned it on and had the light bulb in it blow out 30 seconds later. So it is SUnday morning at 3 am. Wal-mart is only 24 hour store and hey don't carry ENX lamps/bulbs, so sinceit is sunday I have to wait until 11 pm for the stores to open instead of 9am. So I stay awake (i spent 3 hours trying to locate a 24 hour AV or office supply store in Dallas and now it is 6 am) So I getthe bulb start painting around 12:30 egt it done and race to the Theater to catch the performers just as they were getting into the tour van, get it signed come home and............... I am still awake 24 hours since I woke up last night. Feels like the beginning of Fight Club over here. A copy of a copy Good thing is I only have 3 paintings this week, all in row one on the 5th and two on the 6th. Life is mean.
  8. Oh, you see I got the idea by listening to everyone discuss March Madness until cried blood punching my radio/radio/TV/friend a to base color of dust. Then straight into my favorite hockey team getting knocked out in 1st round so all I could hear about was baseball and how much a team sucks/rules 16 games into 4000 game season and the NFL draft like it was the second coming of Christ. Just thought I would share the misery.
  9. hahaha, yeah I bought this game today and one of my guys got shot and everyone else was like oh no! and I was like hey no way, and they were like yep, were outta here and I was all like F this I quit. well how big of a file? I could send you around 30 turns and you can watch all the avre action
  10. well the building didn't collapse. I m still working on that. Got to see my avre fire on the move. the accuracy was off of course, but it fired it about 100 yards over the tank and building, there was a bridge behind it and it went over that into the water, yet in the water it still routed some inf that were pinned on the bridge. At least thats what I think happened, because you rarely see 3 PZgrndier troops start yelling and running away all at once from some mg fire that they had trained on them from my chuchill VII. It happened shortly after the charge hit the water below them, and that seems kinda....goofy I could send some turns to you but only if you can handle a big file [ April 29, 2007, 09:49 AM: Message edited by: Cabe Booth ]
  11. I posted this solution in another thread but thought I should re-post it here to make it easier in a search for solutions. If anyone else has solved a PBEMH problem. Plz add to thread. Mine refers to: The only major bug I have found and solved is one where the program, when telling it to start a PBEM game, it goes to the wrong screen (usually the select scenario screen) and on your way out of a game it goes to the map editor screen. Very irritating. This happens because you have modded your splash screen (start screen with all the buttons). Some user made splash screen will move the buttons on the screen from the default CM location. what happens: PBEM Helper auto launches the CM game and then enters the password with a file called (CMBB.VBS) That sets a series of automatic mouse clicks and keystrokes in a scripted order on parts of the game screens. (A side note, don't go looking for a CMAK.VBS file, it doesn't exist, All use same file named CMBB) In other words when you hit "play" in PBEM it launches games by automatically double-clicking the games executable (.exe file) , then auto-clicking the "multiplayer" button then enters your password and hits "enter" automatically to take you straight into your PBEM game, If you have a modded splash screen that has moved the buttons, PBEMH will be clicking the correct area of the screen that the CMBB.VBS file has told it to do, but since the buttons have been moved the PBEMH mouse click will miss the button. or hit a different one, In my case the screen was modded with a user made screen that made all the button shift down a bit on the start screen, this made the mouse click "start game" since it is right above the multiplayer screen and then it would enter my password and well..... since it was on wrong screen it was a mess and stopped the process/flow of entering the PBEM game. To fix this problem either go back to the original splash screen for the CM game you are having trouble with or use a screen that is known to work with PBEM Helper, or in other words, "doesn't alter the button placement" Modded screens that are known to work so far (and the only I have used since I figured this out) are the ones in the Tarkus interface mods. “Tarkus’s Dirty Olive Interface” for CMAK “Tarkus Dark Steel Interface” for CMBB both found at CMMODS.com and are brilliant to use anyway. So if you ever decide to use a different start/splash screen than the one supplied by the game, make sure to compare the image in a graphics program like Photoshop by comparing them side by side to note button placement. Some user made screens don’t show the buttons in the .bmp and I always assume they are bad because they don’t have a setting to place the buttons correctly, and this would cause the problem.   13. Ok well, I was firing at that tiger but my British rifle infantry actually took it out......from inside a building 5 feet away, how? I have no idea. All I saw was a the word "hit" appear on the tank and heard my troops encouraging one another. Nice kill So now there was this STug III between the two buildings being that tiger across a courtyard. So my AVRE targeted the building blocking the way to the stug's right. First round hit the top of the roof. Upsetting someone in the attic. The second round flew over the building a caught the building on the eave right above he stug in the alleyway.... this was a a 2 story building..... well it went boom and the stug WAS knocked out. Not crew made it out. It was an air burst 2 stories above an AFV and it took it right out. Plus messed up all his infantry hiding in the rubble below as well. If you'd like to see the turn I can send the file to you. But it did kill the Stug without actually hitting it, it just got through the weak top armor with an airburst
  14. I just tested the theory of the problem being the splash screen modded to cause this issue....because I have it too. I opened CMBB and took a screen shot, then I did the same with CMAK opened both images in Photoshop and sat them side by side and guess what? The CMAK splash screen buttons sat lower on the screen which would, of course ,cause the spot where the CMBB.VBS file causes a mouse click right above the "multi player" button. And what is right above the multi player button? the START GAME BUTTON, so then it sends you to the scenario select screen! So I removed my splash screen mods (I use Mcmmm so it was easy)and put in only the Tarkus Dark steel interface for CMBB and the Tarkus Dirty Olive for CMAK. Took screen shots... and they lined up. Then I started CMAK from PBEM helper and it loaded straight into the multi player game. It was fixed. So if you have this problem , I would suggest either going with the default splash screen or use Tarkus's Interfaces, because they line up the buttons on the screen correctly for the PBEM helper. If you experiment with other splash screens or interfaces I would definitely do some similar investigation to see if they line up the button correctly.
  15. I am uploading some of the mod packs that came with the CMBB Special edition to help fill in the gaps after the crash. This is a CMMOS mod converted to CMBB/CMAK use. "Grau" PSW pack. It is all G.E.M. I altered the AR flag colors a tad to make them look richer, but other than that it is all Molek's work.   17. well i really enjoyed how this one came out, at first I had it way too dark. I have to go in and use "curves" in photoshop to pull the colors back up without losing all the tones an blacks. Then I when ape-poop crazy and started making ar flags and turret numbers. Good to know it isn't too far off the mark though, they look really nice in the scenario SS breakthrough on CMBB that I am wrapping up right now, which by the way if you have not played is a real lesson in avoiding Russian ambush. And that isn't a spoiler because that's what it is about from a-z

  19. It isn't very accurate historically, but it was fun to make. Was going for a fall or arid camo look. Hope it isn't too offensive to the sticklers out there for accuracy . I was just wanting a darker camo on a IVG mid It has many turret number and AR flag options (turret or hull placed flags....or both if you like to go overboard)) Will work for CMAK and CMBB
  20. Oh, what the heck, the mod is done. I will post it and let you rip it apart for being inaccurate I guess it is a bit tricked out but I like the camo, probably better if it was more like one of SAT's mods. I guess I treat my tanks like WWI and II airplanes and get too personalized with them.
  21. where do you get most of your info on camo? I do searches, but they always lead to books for sale. Can never seem to find the sweet site. I saw a book today at the local Hobbytown store and it was a collection of photographs of some of the best 1/35 German tank models out there. Dioramas ect. Had some really nice camo schemes photographed from all angles. It was soft back like a thick magazine and said to myself "this would be perfect for modding on CM" then I flipped it over to look at the price............$35 freaking $$$ 35 dolares it went back on the rack. but like DI's tri cmo mods of PzIVG's, there is a late and an early, but no mid
  22. well, it really wasn't much more than making sure they were all there and using copy past and clone stamp in photoshop. Took a few days of my free time, but I really thought it was necessary since for some odd reason some of the grau 250's are not modded or winterized at all for both cmak and cmbb unless you use Sealion or the "Grey Half tracks" CMMOS file that comes with the special edition... which is where some of this came from. SO it is just sort of a Frankenstein of a mod. I guess. The Gelb 250 have multiple mod sets though.......odd but thank you. I am bad at taking compliments.....
  23. while on the resolution topic, for those using PBEM helper, what resolution does it support? I keep getting and error when trying to view my movies I tried googleing PBEM resolution, but that didn't give me and answer.
