  1. I am just excited its close to finish. maybe you guys can keep us going for another couple of months with a monthly Video AAR.
  2. I would love to see one in NOVA. I'll bring the beer and chips.
  3. LOL LOL, the funny thing is my mind heard the statement in a russian accent. very unexpected as i was reading the serious post right before scrolling down to your. thanks man, i laughed to 2 mins straight.
  4. I saw the press release on Wargamer. I am surprised nothing has been mentioned here. I really liked some of the proposed changes for the game. "1C has announced it is working on the next version of its Theatre of War series, this time set in Korea. Today 1C announced Theatre of War 2: Korea is the next title it is developing under the Theatre of War franchise. Billed as the "first hot war of the Cold War", Theatre of War 2: Korea will include two campaigns, the North Korean and the American. Theatre of War 2: Korea adds a strategic focus: players will be able to move their forces, reserves, and supplies across the Korean Peninsula. Key features to be included: * A new strategic mode greatly enhances the experience of tactical battles * Non-linear dynamic campaigns, a first for the series * Unique landscape modeling for correct infantry combat simulation * Lots of new artillery, armor and aviation units, e.g. helicopters with helicopter-borne infantry in both tactical and strategic modes * Updated control system focusing more on squads and not on individual soldiers * Engineer Corps: real-time mining and demining * New binocular view feature for total immersion * Detailed replication of authentic Korean landscape and architecture Campaign generator" this time i am going to check out demo first before purchasing. I like the move to squad based focus and dynamic campaign.
  5. I am not sure if these developers ever visit this site but can some ask them to give us a possible release date???
  6. or why not have all of them release at the same time. i dont mind purchasing Normand, Afg and Nato as a bundle package. so the idea of one game hurting the release of another does not hold true for BFC gamers. We will purchase them all, just as long it has the Combat Mission logo.
  7. its good to see forum with laughter and tears of joy. the screens look great, i am dying to play this game. Just don't spend too much time on the campaign, the community will provide enough good that will last us for years to come. also, can wait to tinker with the editor.
  8. thanks for the Bone Steve. I especially like the fact that you guys are almost finishing this up. I know you dont like to give time-frames but does this mean we only have a couple of months to go? I just want to schedule a couple vacation days with my company. I don't know about the other folks, i want to play for couple days when released. this is very exciting news. thanks again to the team for making such an awesome game. its my opinion but this game will be the game of the decade.
  9. the video's are awesome i just discovered them. they made me want to get back to playing again. believe me dude, your hard work is greatly appreciated. I've also learned a couple of tricks from you. i'd love to see marines vs british forces scenario.
  10. i love watching these VAAR's. like someone else said it like watching a war movie. its better than watching all the crap on TV. please add more, i am looking forward to watching future games. i think someone should make a thread with all the link to Video AARs on youtube. for those interested on seeing longer video with player comentary check out Tanit's videos. I would love to see other players posting long video's like tanit.
  11. thanks steve, it will be nice to get a couple of bones or ever better a possible release date.
  12. i recommend you search for cmsf on youtube. there you will find a lot of user AAR's that are sometimes over 40 minutes long. a fellow member Tanit has a bunch of recordings of his games. I highly recommend you checking out his AAR's to get a good feel what you can do in cmsf. good luck
  13. its a good game but Normandy will come equipped with a scenario and map editor. I can't tell you how many user created scenarios i have played so far. If it just the campaign i would stopped play shock force along time ago. i played achtung a couple of times and had a real problem with the infantry behavior. to be honest, every time i played it i kept thinking how that scenario would play out in Normandy. i could be that i am used to the way shock force play and will really enjoy Normandy. i am also thinking that the hacker from a few days ago was bone crazed fan that could not take it anymore and wanted to find some on his/her own.
  14. i am looking forward to see longer battles and for others to see what this game can do.
  15. I will try, but how do i make it so the scenario ends when the threshold is exceeded?
  16. good suggestion long, but i was really hoping to have the game end if blue loses say 2-3 guys.
  17. I am working on a couple of tactical scenarios that will include no more than 2 lost lives for the blue side. how do i achieve this in the parameters section of the editor? I tried a couple tweaks to the percent threshold with no luck.
  18. yeah i know but i has hoping to play either the CM:A or Nato by now. especially when Nato has more new features. also, I really excited about Normandy. There is a lot of energy around the new Achtung Panzer: k game. People are saying why should BFC even bother to release it now. What people dont realize is that Normandy will be game changer for this genre of games as was Shock Force. I know the release was not greeted with a lot excitement because of some issues. I have always challenged others to find a game like it or better. believe me you cant, I tried to one that comes close. Achtung Panzer may offer large maps and unscripted AI, but it fails on the most important part of a really good war game: Infantry Behavior. Its not about how awesome your tanks look like and all the pretty graphics. its all about how those pixel soldiers react to situations in battle. In Achtung Panzer you can order your infantry to attack a tank and the squad will keep moving forward even if they have to crawl to their deaths. Try this in Shock Force and after a little suppression your men will not obey you. they will attempt to survive at any cost. the only other game that i have seen this in is Close Combat and that's a 20 year old game. Any company that does not take this fact into consideration is not making a Hardcore war game. Why do you think the Close Combat series is still being played today. That's why i still have it on my computer. I am going to love Normandy because it will have a refined AI because of all the experiences from the previous versions of the CMx2 engine. I am very happy that Steve and the team of beta testers are busy working on Nato and Normandy and not here listening to our ranting and raving. They should realize that we do this because we want love the games that BFC has created. so BFC, dont waste your time on my silly post and release Normandy as soon as possible.
  19. I am trying to very hard distract myself by playing Close Combat but then starting fantasizing how the map and infantry behavior would look in Normandy. the same with theater of war and Achtung Panzer. I play these games to forget that Normandy is not here. I try hard to forget Normandy but it just doesn't work because i know that it will blow all these games out of the water. as a lurker in the this forum for the past few year I check in everyday to an update. its just getting too much with all this WWII games and movies coming out in the recent months. Would it be super ridiculous to ask for a demo of Normandy to released today? Or even some beta game-play. I know BFC is thinking that it may like the release of CMSF but I don't think this will be the case. Way too many patches have come out for Normandy to have may bugs. I hope the release is sooner than later.
  20. thanks for the update. I am surprised that no one from their team is in this forum to promote the gate. How many months and no screens or another youtube video. let hope they patch up Marines soon so we can get on with the Afghan war. I am hoping the Editor will have new buildings.
  21. I would like to see more Close Combat type scenarios that are more infantry focused. Maybe one or two tanks/halftracks for each side. also, a Stalingrad type scenario would be awesome.
  22. any news on when this will be released? I am hoping the release of this and Nato module will bring us ever closer to Normandy.
  23. first off, congrats to the developers for releasing the game. Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on how the infantry has improved. is tow the true successor to close combat? your thoughts are welcome. also, if you anyone has a AAR they can post on youtube. I love watching user created Video AAR's. thanks a bunch.
