  1. Sure looks like one, I wish BFC would put it in the NATO modual even if they didn't use any other French units.
  2. Black smoke is from the old Soviet vehicle smoke grenade launchers, it doesn't block IR and fires quite a distance infront of the vehicle. White/Grey smoke; when used by blue units (and from arty) doesn't block IR. However modern Russian vehicles (the T-90SA) use white smoke that does block IR. Brown smoke which is darker than dust is the IR blocking smoke used by blue units.
  3. Everyone knows tank 808 and his buddies tank 101 and 888.
  4. I'm guessing the Pak 40 and the 6 pounder but I'm probably wrong.
  5. As there were more B-1 tanks in the US sectors than Tiger 1s, it is not unreasonable that the B-1 be modeled in CM:N aswell.
  6. Biggest jump up I'd put in the campaign system is an intermission screen. One that lets you analyse your forces for the next mission and "requisition" repairs/rearm /re-enforce and air/artillary/support and upgrades to unit equipment, using "points" earned from victories in previous missions (more points for beter vicotries). Basically the Steel panthers campaign system.
  7. That just highlights the use of semantics by Government PR to spin "tank destoryed by enemy fire" into something that looks better on a report.
  8. Has it been subbed yet? I saw some of it in 07 but still haven't seen any with subs.
  9. Anyone here know what butter getting mowed down invovles?
  10. They've got to land right on the tank to knock them out, quite tricky with such a small target. When you do get a hit even 81mm morters will knock out tanks sometimes. Oh yeah and setting anti-armor only tightens the shot pattern (apparently) not change the shell. You are using the right settings with heavy, short, anti-armor fire mission with a point target on the tank. You can use longer missions if you intend to cancel it when you hit and don't mind losing some ammo fired after a hit (you can tell when you hit as the explosion will be raised above the ground right over the tank).
  11. I was under the impression the firer is sitting in the normal posistion behind the observer in both scenes and is obscured?
  12. For a slight reduction in abstraction: How about instead of just having the density level for a map, you can paint zones of varying degress of desity on the map? High density around certain buildings, low in others, none out in the bush? From there you could add further effects that these zones have (graphical or coded), not just hide bonuses.
  13. So basically it's modernized chain mail.
  14. It shouldn't be that hard programming a computer that will work out the right time to set on a fuse to make it explode at a certain distance taken from the range finder if people have been doing it manualy for 200 years. It's definatly not as fancy as the 3PP shells on the CV90 though.
  15. I'm sure I've seen statments that they can be airburst, we need an expert! The HE frag shells are the ones I'm thinking of, not the regular HE shells. edit: Found some details on the 125mm airburst shells, they use the AINET fuse system fitted to the T-80 and T-90. For use with the 3VOF-22 and 3VOF-36 shell.
  16. Both the T-90 and BMP-3 can set their HE shells fuse to airburst over a target.
  17. Does the export version of the T-90 and BMP-3 come with the airburst shells? What about the airburst GP-25 pop-up grenades, could those be modeled?
  18. 4 were knocked out but not destroyed by enemy tanks at Medina ridge. The regular tanks that Syria has in CM:SF are better than the vast majority of the tanks that Iraq used in the Gulf war though.
  19. Why not? Just give one side one and the other side the other.
  20. Allot of people cry foul about that dust aswell, it's way too useful (being able to monitor enemy vehicle movements preciesly from behind a hill for example). Until computers allow smoke and dust to only be rendered in los, it's probably better this way.
  21. You've probably already check this but Gamersgate games that have serial codes to install (I assume this is your problem, no install key) have it written on the Gamersgate site. You log on to Gamersgate, go to the My games page and it's written next to the box shot under its name.
  22. The max time has been bumped up to 4 hours now but it's still up to the designer. With that decisions mission, you only need 10 minutes as your only objective is to reach one of the exit points. I just told a LAV to top speed straight to one and hit cease fire!
