strange forum resolution.
sdp replied to Piecekeeper's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
Sure you can, from the v1.08 Readme; CHANGING GAME RESOLUTION: By default, the first time the game is launched, the games internal resolution and refresh rate are set to whatever your desktop display is currently set to. We have added two ways to make adjustments to this settings. From inside the game, go to the Main Menu, then select the Options panel. From there you can select the game to run at the following resolutions: Desktop = (the game will run at whatever resolution your desktop is set to) 1024x768 1152x864 1280x960 If you want to run the game in a resolution and refresh rate not listed, you can manually configure these settings by editing the "display size.txt" file located in your game directory. Simply change the numbers that you see there with the width (in pixels) and height (in pixels) and refresh rate (in Hertz) you wish to run the game. Example: For 1440x900 at 75Hz refresh rate, you would delete the numbers in that file and replace with "1440 900 75" (without quotes). If you put in all zeroes example: 0 0 0, the game will revert to using your desktop resolution and refresh rate. Exercise caution and only use a resolution and refresh rate supported by your monitor as damage to your monitor or display adaptor could occur, especially if you use too high a setting. /sdp -
Thanks for the tip! So, from what I gather, the Saxons in the mechanized battalions will be replaced by Bulldogs? http://www.armedforces.co.uk/army/listings/l0030.html /sdp
-
It will be interesting to see if BFC will include the Bulldog in the British to&e. Here are some brits talking about their experience of the vehicle; And here's some more info; http://www.armedforces.co.uk/army/listings/l0035.html /sdp

...and the third vehicle seems to be... a scimitar! Wonderful! /sdp -
Of course Elmar has a point... But wouldn't it nice if it was possible to buy the map as a high-res file at the BFC store? As a download among others? Seems there's an interest in the thing anyway... regards/ sdp
-
I'd also be very grateful for a copy of the map! regards/ sdp

Moon; Would it be possible to have the map for sale at the Battlefront store? A downloadable high res version would do just fine. /sdp
-
Clavicula_Nox; I guess you found the map somewhere in the gamedirectory, right? But where? Can't seem to find it among the exploded files... /sdp

I’ve done a search for OoBs on the Forum but this topic doesn’t seem to have been discussed before: I’m curious as to what the community would regard to be a plausible OoB for the coalition side when invading Syria? What units would most likely be committed in your opinion and which countries/forces (other than USA and USMC that is) would take part in an invasion? And from where would they attack? /sdp

You have to make a copy of the entire folder of the map you want to work with/modify and open the renamed copy in the builder. /sdp
-
Yeah, I know that. What I'm referring to is the actual look of the horizon -like in CMAK where the default horizon is mountainous and there has been released several mods with flattened horizons. Would be nice to be able to do something similar in ToW /sdp
-
Is there any way to change the look of the horizon in ToW like in CM? /sdp

I've had similar experiences; copied the caenmap and called it caen000 -result:it didn't show up in the menu at all... Then I changed the name of the original caenmap to caen000 and renamed my new map to just caen and, voila' , there they are, both maps show up! However if I copy the "Clear Spring map" and rename it all works fine; both the new and the original map can be found in the menu. Now this really puzzles me... -
4-british variants of all american vehicles used by the british 5-light mortars at platoonlevel 6-canadians, latewar-poles (...Italian theatre!) 7-the possibility of a more detailed topography (more polygons...) would mean a great deal to be able to conduct realistic infantrytactics -i.e using the terrain to a larger extent [ February 01, 2008, 06:29 AM: Message edited by: sdp ]

use "Vehicle skin" under 07.Skin in the properties window. Some models just have one summer skin, others have up to 3 or 4 different /sdp

From what you've learnt -do you think it might be possible to add new buildings and objects to the game? Or adding new maps? /sdp
-
Thats really fantastic! I hadn't understood that you actually were able to not just read but also write! Looking forward to your mods of german inf/ss then! /sdp
-
FinnN, so you're able to read and edit the content of the SFS-files right? /sdp

Ok, here you go; http://www.molnhavet.se/sdp/docs/tow_blue_arrows.zip /sdp

Here are some red ones; http://www.molnhavet.se/sdp/docs/tow_red_arrows.zip They're no masterpieces at all, but I suppose I could make some blue ones as well if you find them useful regards/sdp

In case anyone needs; here's a link to a zipped folder with some map graphics; http://www.molnhavet.se/sdp/docs/tow_map_graphics.zip They're tif:s with transparency, so you can paste them onto your own briefing map. Works fine with rofl:s clean maps! /sdp
