  1. greetings, i pledge for excuses as at last i make some more changes and are updating, so, people interested that have downloaded should download again, there are two changes, engineers units have been replaced with a version of heavy tanks, named assault tanks, are much expensive (+1/2 cost of regular armor), given allies have more production this can balance for them someway but still the germans assault tanks are more powerfull, the other change is about diplomacy, i place at start chits from UK/France on USA/Russia, want to make these nations enter the war, as japan start very powerfull and with the kriegsmarine the royal navy can only stand for some time, UK mainland isles is not as mainline default scenario important, UK have st. john and can move there the capital and still go on the war, hope this give the time to active the US navy and re-balance the war at sea. version 5.0, when i playtest this will have an axis russia, i do want the axis units to balance the order of battle with capability to match the allies forces, so, make germany surrendered at start for russia is not an option for me, although i will include 5 commands groups extra for russia, (1 to 5 "Banner" groups), in 4.0 (current version) only "Banner" armored units are present but them will include infantry, air and artillery as regular groups, will start in rear areas to give the allies some time to redeploy and make reorganization of his forces. the scenario editor has been enhanced from previous editors, now edit is more easy and it make corrections on scripts better, i guess. given that uploader do not give problems, version 4.0 will be uploaded in some time from now on, for today, hope interested people like it, i will play a bunch of hours when finish uploading, with best regards, alarick.
  2. greetings, just want to make it available just in case people like it, now at combat mission mods site, http://www.cmmods.com/ details on the readme included in the file are in the campaign entry. there are some heavy changes on the scenario that makes it completely different of the default mainline game's scenarios, hope you enjoy the scenario and the changes, with best regards, alarick. fatal alliance, is germany, japan, italy And russia against france, UK and USA, hope you enjoy the scenario.   4. greetings, these games are a work in progress, i must say to not failed to truth that are very pleased seeing the AI opponent playing maybe 3x (speed) than before, i do not mean it was before slow, it is reasonable for a game of all these variables in place to AI make decisions but now, manage to play around 20 turns in only 3/4 hours, it is the best feature for me, now we can setup with the already outstanding editor on our hands, a game from straight world war 2 to a cold war conflict, all in the same engine in games much more fast, i am very pleased with this purchase, and say this to not failed to truth, best regards, alarick.
  5. greetings, a format disk erase and delete all registry keys, etc, do not format before unlicense, for unlicense, and is a way to see what number of licenses used, do not use the shorcuts for access to the game engine, go to programs groups and seek for "battlefront-group", and each game engine, SC2, WaW and PDE have an option to "unlicense" just straight of "unistall", added in, also in core install dir there are a .txt file named under "receipt", it list each license use as 1/2 or 2/2, note/extra... a off-line license package is both files in the same dir, the request and the license .txt files, and then, at least for me, it works right, hope it helps, best regards, alarick
  6. greetings, i have same problem, some operative system application and/or security are block-ing the elince, a way is to go to "all programs", all games give an option to unlicense, you can unlicense from there and then, for reinstall elicense just run-click on "game".exe and will be prompted for license the game, for me, i am working on taking "offline licenses" for all titles and then i do not have to use 1/2 of the elicense active at no-one moment, no-one is free of a computer crash and i guess that offline licenses do not count towards the two "2" max. regular licenses, for me it is working just right now, hope it helps, with best regards, alarick.
  7. each scenario is a different challenge for either side, i am greatly pleased with this release, only to see the scenarios gives idea that developers have put much work on balance, in each scenario, good luck with bugs, i hope to have few of them, will start my first game today, not sure about when will finish first session, may be a "intensive" session, for sure, best regards, alarick.
  8. greetings, i think about this topic, so, if any advice can be available i will be very pleased, thanks in advance, maybe however be a very early question..., the script editor for Weapons and Warfare is very good and in effect decreased the needed time (greatly) on edit scenarios, very pleased with it, thanks on it, will there be a script editor for Patton Drives East? or, will be the script editor for WaW suitable/compatible with Patton Drives East scripts?, obviously i do these questions as i do not know in exactly how this editor works, aside very intuitive once on run, by the way, but i do not know given questions and not too what difference have WaW scripts with PDE scripts, i think that deccisions scripts maybe are independent of the main scripts and indeed PDE comes from WaW, so, please, any advice will be great, thanks in advance for any and all advice, with best regards, alarick.
  9. attack on any neutral can and will upset united states and russia, for me at the least it all depends on what nations of these give more resources or access to attack on better setup russia or limit united kingdom, if i remember correct, switzerland and poland are 1 resource each, i think that is better avoid to attack switzerland, maybe it upset usa and russia same than attacking both, first holland and then belgium, belgrade upset greatly russia, for me it is not an option, the increase on war effort-readiness for russia simply is much more valuable than a single capitol, with plunder and the good diplomacy system you can bring on finland, rumania, bulgary and hungary, or use plunder on attack the british, but rumania opens the "turkey option" on board, just my thinking on straight fall weiss, in "storm of steel" axis have even more options as game start before indeed and the extra time can be much vital, best regards, alarick.
  10. just played the "berlin crisis" scenario, i think indeed is a game much more balanced than any "basic" axis vs allies scenario, aside the fact that both cases are with realism on history, axis never produce same amount of war machines that the allies or russia, just very pleased that one of the better games on the market have this expansion available on days from now onwards, still will have liked a multiplayer with 3 players, axis, allies and russia, or a game that start with axis against allies and then you can import the result to a game on allies vs russia, but think that the expansion do not need for it, can be aproached as a alternate world war 2 enviorenment much more balanced, games less balanced not are worse, given you can adjust difficulty and being under excellent "mod-editor", at last, want to say that russia have a good army on his hands and have the ability to focus on one or another theater, in example can left on defense the mid-east theater and focus his reserve units on take france and italy and off-set the production advantage edge on the allied side, russia can match allied air if concentrate his air units, at least nearly to it, taking after france and surrender italy, spain and norway/sweden/finland can end in a game of all of europe under russia banner against united states, very interesting situation, i am more pleased than a first view (before), upon i played the demo on "berlin crisis" scenario, and pleased that all the features in weapons and warfare expansion are here too, research seems to start just perfect on history levels, better russia land army (tanks) against better navy and allied air research, the way of united states increasing activation is well featured and adressed, democratic nations have less tolerance to casualties and then less ready to an all-out war than communist nations, is nice to find that in the time russia is expanding trough europe united states, gradually, increases production, as a final note, side note, as the balance is ok, as a side note i think the allies must give some ground at start to save valuable units untill, if can, match land forces of russia and more important, time to give reinforcements time to reach mainland europe, very pleased, more than at first with this "alternate history" set of scenarios, really to not failed to truth can not wait to play the entire "berlin crisis" scenario, with best regards, Alarick.

  12. greetings, personally i love the alternate WWII campaign, have played my first game, although a game on western allies and russia will be much more balanced than against the axis forces, the big punch to good for me is that i have managed to conquer france on october 39, this give me more resources, it upset russia and united states but france is much more valuable in resources than 2/3 minors, in example, denmark, poland and belgrade, added in is the plunder from take early france, around 500 mmp, If I Remember Correctly, this give some advantage to take minors easily and each turn i produce all resources in france to when i do upset again russia or united states attaking the minors, the french partisan scripts still i like it, but a interesting what if is that i now have much time to explore what if's, as an invasion on united kingdom (sealion), overall the AI works much more fast now, even when in the first expansion it is good enough (WaW). very pleased with the demo, can't wait to play the complete scenarios one after each other, the better from this expansion is that is an excellent point at base to set a cold war scenario, all the editor features add capability to do a cold war scenario, best regards, alarick.

  15. greetings, Mr. Hubert Cater, if not a problem, i do want to know if this named scenario, "clash of steel" have enhanced map, more large than fall weiss, there have been in the forums speaking about a global campaign, first for WaW expansion and then for PDE, just want if the global campaign is going to be axis versus allies, and will be included in PDE, of course if we can speak about it, i are very interested in this campaign, thanks for any and all advice about it, with best regards, alarick.
  16. greetings, this expansion indeed better feature is the prefect "base" for a cold war conflict scenario, perhaps what is missing is, as already said, a game for three players, axis, russia and allies, may be unbalanced, as if axis go to loss the war he can focus on one or the other enemy and cause on he more casualties, but old western allies and russia can develop alternate paths to victory with this in mind, just my point of view, keep up the good outstanding hard work, with best regards, Alarick.
  17. for player vs player games it is better tiles on my own point of view as you need 3 frontline units for each "reserve" unit to be under cover, more space available lead to more space for maneouver and out-maneouver enemy, On The Other Hand for plays against AI, computer opponents it will be better hexagons, frontline reduced to 2 units for each "reserve" unit, less maneouver available, so, less effort to the computer opponent to make his movements, aside all i personally think "strategic command 2" is a great wargame not matter it use tiles or hexagons, with best regards, alarick.
  18. greetings, agree with most of the advices, only post to say that i will love high experience units available trough investment of mpp, it will feature russian guards units and ss units, maybe one turn for gain one medal and another turn for increase strenght from, as main example 10 to 11, it will take 10 turns to increase a unit to strenght 15, i think is much time but can worth the time, (of course i should make this as a only optional rule, not hardcoded, as it will not like by all players) best regards, alarick.
  19. greetings, i do have plans to make reinforcements free of experience loss, because that given rules it is nearly impossible to take units to 15 strenght points, and take at least 5 turns and maybe reinforcements from previous losses, and i are wanting advice, is some reason to avoid this procedure?, i lost some point that is not good to have units with 15 strenght as them can be very powerfull or is not so?, thanks in advance for any and all advice, possibly i am to try it and see what are the results but just was wanting advice from experienced players, best regards, alarick.

  21. the site for mods is this... http://www.cmmods.com/ you need registration but it is free and fast, for weapons and warfare you have available three scenarios, but soon four, as i will make public an alternate version of the fall weiss campaign with japan into europe. note that units that make operational movement lose some readiness and fight a bit worse for one or two turns, best regards, alaric.
  22. thanks for make it a fact, i know it will have been much work, looks awesome good outstanding, this moves the game to the best wargame and strategy level of games, my most that like me is that it is global, i prefer global against only pacific theater, i think that Strategic Command and Weapons and Warfare, both, may be the wargames of the year, them deserves it, at least for my oppinion, only me wish that this mega campaign may be imported to Weapons and Warfare, thanks, it is as a chrismas present early, with best regards, alaric.

  24. greetings, i do have started a mod/scenario taken at base the third reich mod by [pzgren.] at this time i are playtesting an if things go all ok i will post on combat mission site soon, i have included japanese forces as bulgaria, hungary, romania and spain dominions, the new features with upgradable minors and set it not above 100% cost are good outstanding and such a scenario will have not be possible without it, combat is bloody and research is fixed but maybe people, as me found it interesting, here a preview picture of featured japanese forces, originally developed and created by sidious poa, aka sideris. all feedback welcome and i want to know if people will like a scenario this style, main problem will be maybe it is complete ahistorical and complete hipothetical, last time scenario sculpture is to give allies some production advantage, now is roughly 50-50, maybe better 60/65 to 50 for allies, will not be much work, best regards, alaric.
