  1. Yes - I did mean that one... thanks for showing correct link.
  2. I thought that the enemy side received points for EACH unit designated to exit that failed to do so? When I run my scenario, the enemy only receives points for ONE unit no matter how many failed to exit. Does each unit have to be designated with a different unit objective number? Example: if I have 8 tanks that I want the player to exit, and I want the enemy to receive 20 points to each unit failing to exit - do I have to set a separate UNIT OBJECTIVE for each tank (ie U1-U8) for this to work? Or is there a way to have them all as U1 and score 20 points each?
  3. Interesting test... good job. I've found that even small arms fire is deadly to units in buildings compared to when they are lying in open ground.
  4. Just want a little clarification.. maybe someone can help... Are engineer squads able to spot (NOT MARK) Anti-Tank mines? I haven't been able to get them to do so. Is this on purpose? Are AT mines considered too difficult to spot? Do mixed mines have the same issue?
  5. When playing against the AI, I would also like to see the 'Ceasefire' option implemented in the same manner as it was in the CMx1 engine. I much preferred the 'hidden' ceasefire concept and the way the AI wouldn't automatically accept a ceasefire, but rather base it's response on the current state of the battle.
  6. I'd like to add my idea (from a previous thread) to be able to click on an HQ unit and see which subordinate units are within C2 range. See image. http://www.combatmission.com/community/attachment.php?attachmentid=966&d=1307041444
  7. For anyone on a budget... I bought an early 2008 Core 2 Duo iMac (2.8 ghz) from ebay for less than £600 and it runs CMBN set to 'Better' no problem or set to 'Best' at a push. Just make sure you give it enough RAM.
  8. Yes, I'm finding that infantry have a far better survival chance if NOT in a building! I now avoid putting infantry in buildings - they are safer in the middle of a corn field. Is there any response to this issue from BF?
  9. The same battle - just 2 turns later. Only seen it happen once so far.
  10. My HQ unit is positioned a few yards behind thick bocage. On the other side it can clearly see the second floor of a building. I want to call in artillery on the building but unfortunately the unit isn't given LOS. Must an HQ always be able to see the ground floor of a building in order to obtain LOS?
  11. Just wanted to see if anyone has encountered the strange effect of buildings that have been damaged by artillery miraculously repairing themselves a couple of turns later? Not a major issue - but just curious if it has happened to anyone else.
  12. Firstly, thanks to Normal Dude for his great templates. I'm still a little stuck trying to understand the best way to create the OpMap. What are scenario designers using as a tracing template? Google Maps? I'd appreciate a little advice - or some direction to a link that may help. Thanks.
  13. Thanks for clarification. Really glad to know that I was wrong.
  14. I have been wondering whether some of the problems with the AI in scenarios is due to the design decision NOT to give AI units any form of autonomy. Every major action needs to be scripted. This also means that AI units can't decide how to setup at the start of a mission, thereby limiting re playability. I'm certainly finding the AI far less of a challenge than in CM1.
  15. It might be nice to show the number of knocked out guns in the AAR too.
  16. Is it possible to place 'knocked out' or 'burning' AT guns on the map in the editor? If not, could the feature be included at some point?
  17. My Panzerschreck teams often get mauled by tanks because the team member with the rifle will open up before the schreck is fired. This seems a bit unrealistic. Anyone else experience this?
  18. Hi, Is there anywhere to get hold of the unit symbols used in the CMBN briefing maps? Also, can anyone direct me to info about briefing map design help?
  19. I'm probably being an idiot but how do you remove the Battalion HQ unit in the mission editor? i.e. if you only wanted a Company HQ on the map. Whenever I select the HQ I only get 'Rename' option.
  20. The question is - would a combination of both these ideas solve the lack of C2 lines in CMBN and provide enough unit info feedback? Personally I am glad C2 lines don't exist in CMx2, but something is needed. Would it satisfy those mourning the loss of the C2 lines? Also, Is my suggestion of having to click on an HQ unit and then a tab one click too many? If the tabs are sticky (i.e. remain on the tab last chosen) I think it should work well. ...and I can't see it being particularly tough to implement.
  21. wow - I didn't know that iPads ran OS X. I thought they used a cut-down iPhone type OS.
  22. Although I am delighted that my SteelBook arrived last Tuesday I do have sympathy for those still waiting for theirs to arrive. I distinctly remember having problems when I ordered the CMx1 series of games back in the day. CMBO didn't arrive at all and I had to ask for a replacement. CMBB took about three weeks to a month to arrive. CMAK also didn't show up. It does appear that getting software delivered to the UK from outside is a bit risky and can take time. I think that some customers will still have to wait a few weeks before they see their Steelbooks and I reckon that it's worth waiting until the end of June before considering the parcel lost. I'm pretty certain that all the missing parcels and hold-ups (to the UK) are the fault of the UK postal services and customs.
