  1. And the polygons, for that matter, ARE different. it seems as if they worked a few of them over, although they didn't correct all the faults...

Look closely at the front fenders of the early G in BB and at the storage boxes - then you'll see what I mean!

By the way, I repositioned the bow mg art OVER the bump and interestingly it doesn't look very warped... Just check my W.I.P. thread - these screenshots show how it looks.

Maybe this is another issue entirely with the different versions...?

  2. Interesting... would it possible to scan and post a few of them? I only have b/w pictures and the authors of my books seem to have found bicolor camouflage patterns on the tanks, sometimes even tricolor...

This particular tank which will, in fact, be an Initial A will get a tricolor pattern like my sources suggest it had.

But these pictures you talk of would really interest me since I do not own that book you talk of...

  3. Here's a little update so you know I'm still on it... doing Zimmerit isn't as easy as I thought.

Turret layer is still missing but will be done in the next few days.

If someone wonders: this pattern was seen on a tank of SS-PzDiv 'Wiking' near Kovel in 1944. I reworked some other features to fit the pictures I have.

    More to come...

  4. @MikeyD: It does make sense. Then I'm doing something very similar to your technique... not quite, but nearly.

For the Panther D: There seem to have been a fair number of D models with Zimmerit (and with different patterns, too) - and my sources tell me there might have been still some left at the end of 1944!

Anyway, I think I'll do an early D with Zimmert when I'm done with the Late D/Initial A. It's somehow fascinating me... ;)

  5. Steel wheels? Cool... And I know excactly what you mean whean you talk about bad TV. Okay, there's still my girlfriend complaining about me loving tanks more than her, so it usually takes quite some time when I do something. But what do I talk about...

Another thing: Could you maybe show me how you do Zimmerit? I'm in the painful process of doing it row by row and think there must be a better and faster way. But only if you have the time for it. Thanks.

  6. Right, it worked better than I had imagined, too. It's still an awful lot of work getting only minor details accurate, so I know why you waited so long to take it on... :D

By the way, you can use the new road wheels for your next panther mods. ;)

And you know what's funny? I just noticed I made a mistake in the end - wrong number of bolts on the road wheels. That's what happens if you mix different BMP's. Well, it's just a WIP and I'm just starting. Thanks for the feedback!

  7. So here it is what I like to call my first real 'meta-mod': a Panther Ausf.D Late/Ausf.A Initial Production Series (what it actually is) done with MikeyD's wonderful base art.

Now with correct road wheels, correct engine deck and correct fenders. I recolored it and changed a few minor details. Sadly the polygons aren't very accurate, so I had to cheat sometimes...

Now the only thing left is to find a nice camouflage pattern!

  8. Need a little help from you out there... Since my HD crashed recently, I had to reinstall all of my games. Now I only had a very old backup of my BMP folder, so I'm reinstalling all the mods again. Thing is, there are mods missing on CMMODS - or I am too stupid to find 'em. I'd need AndrewTF's 37mmPaK and the complete Grey Flak Pack from Marco Bergmann and Gordon Molek.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Update: I'm also in desperate need of AndrewTF's Infantry Packs for Early and Mid-War Heer Infantry.
