  1. You have a point, Moon - as always. ;) What bothers me, though is the part about ToW's focus being on CC style missions. Tanks IMHO aren't suited to close combat situations at engagement ranges below 500m. It's deadly in CM and would be deadly elswhere.

So for me that translates into something like tank rushing because of engagement ranges there'd be not much difference if you have a PzIII or a Panther...

  2. It's maybe a dumb question (and has been answered somewhere, though I can't find it right now), but: How will casualties be modelled? Still no medics treating light wounds? :D Does the game abstract casualty numbers like CM did? Is it likely to have someone wounded light enough so he can still fight afterwards?

  3. Apart from that, THERE IS NO SUCH THING as late/early model Panther D's. Common misinterpretation of the photographic evidence we have.

But a lot of people still think there were and most of the books on the topic still claim it. So why bother? :D

By the way: Did you know the Jagdpanther had very good aerodynamics and therefore the other tanks were so impressed by his looks they coudn't turn away? :D <- That's something a book of a so-called 'expert' claims... ;)

  4. Well, CMBO is the oldest one and has A LOT less features and an inferior AI than BB and AK. But there's one thing I consider an argument to still play: the vehicles in the game like Pershings, Comets and others. It's a blast to watch Pershings duke it out with King Tigers... ;)

So, actually, it's a matter of taste. If you can do with less features, older graphics, inferior AI (not to say the AI is STILL bad in the newer games) then there's no reason to neglect the Western Front. After all, you could play against a friend making up for the AI. :D

I still play it a lot and I know of a few guys still doing the same, though it isn't that attractive for many players around here anymore...

  5. Works absolutely perfect. Thanks very much - now I can do what I ever wanted to! Hopefully a few of the camo patterns posted earlier... Anyway, you will seen results soon enough!

Is there any chance you'll tackle the Brummbär now? ;)

By the way: Where are all those patterns you did for the tutorial? You really have a gift there, you know...

  6. I can't recall having read about real accounts of a Sturmtiger in action apart from that in Warsaw (maybe). I just remembered a cityfight scenario a freind of mine built 2 years back where he managed to kill a T-34/85 and about 600 Russian soldiers with one shell. Interesting in this case is the fact that he actually fired into a building behind which the T-34 was positioned and - as seems obvious - most of the KI's soldiers... :D
