  1. I've played through both campaigns and none have unlocked in the scenario area.
  2. looks cool. maybe do a daily or weekly thing? im in for the next one
  3. Why not just conserve your ammo when you have to? It's part of the game. Unlimited ammo would be boring.
  4. There is no way to resupply or repair during the mission. Ammo wise, the (105mm?) infantryguns on the german side have a ton of ammo.
  5. Out of print and rare it looks like, does anybody have maybe an online link for this? Does anyone have other recommendations for straightfoward tactical accounts like this? Obviously a lot of operational studies, but there tends to be a trend of this level of history being more about the human drama side of things. I want to know the tactical components of what operational statements actual mean - "2nd panzer chewed up elements of so and so tank corps over the course of several days" - how?
  6. So I finally completed this mission and finished the Russian campaign. You receive a victory screen and a couple of paragraphs of text explaining the rest of the Soviet counter-offensives. I don't believe the Russian units depicted participated in the big tank battles, so it doesnt look like any of those engagements are depicted in the game.
  7. Refresh my memory.. is this the infantry-only scenario? I can pass along some info, but I don't remember that name
  8. If memory serves, I'm about at scenario 8 or 9, and I do believe they're all defensive. I think the main points for me are that - A) Being an artillery victim doesn't make for fun gameplay - carefully choosing my forces and placing them, only to have a third or half of them wiped out before real combat even begins gets very very old The stat/RPG side of things is even more inappropriate for the Russian side, considering the losses you take. I feel silly going through individual soldier skills by hand, knowing how quickly and easily they can be destroyed. I'd have to spend more time in the stats screen than I would in the actual game C) The Russian scenarios can be mind bogglingly difficult, more so than the German scenarios. So much of the outcomes is based on luck - will all of my AT guns be destroyed by artillery, or only half? Will my SU get a shot off before the tiger spots him? etc. Lots of save/reload action. Anyway, I'm stuck on scenario 8 or 9, and this is on novice. Not sure what I would do on the higher difficulties.
  9. I do hope they stick with it in terms of updates and quality. There are some really great features, stuff taht nobody else has done, and it would be a shame for this game not to do well despite the rough edges. I dig it!
  10. In the meantime, waiting for a fix (I hope?), it's helpful to play the game at the 50% speed setting when you're really getting low framerates. Much fewer calculations going on etc.
  11. Troll? Read the text next to the Nazi propaganda photos. The vast majority of the "battle" was a slugfest through nearly 300 kilometers of fortified belts.
  12. that's what i was saying.. ive been doing these tests with restarts etc
  13. played some more, always restarting and beginning a new "campaign" (why do I have to start a new campaign to do a random battle that doesn't link to any other battle?), and i get completely random results every time. The only thing I can reliably do is choose a nation, everything else doesn't pay attention to what i've chosen. shrug
  14. I had the same thing. The german "infantry" division gives me 50% vehicle slots (all tank types), while the "armor" battalion gives me no vehicle slots. just a simple mixup between the two?
  15. did some more tests with these, seems like it's a universal bug. all friendly troops happily shoot through their friends to get to the enemy infantry.
  16. hilarious bug - icing on the cake when I have 4 or 5 of my troops wrestling in a trench, and a friendly wespe spots the single enemy trooper. 10.5cm shot ends it all in a bang. so add a bug to the list - friendly HE tossers disregarding friendly fire.
  17. Well, I for one feel better now knowing that it was our fault all along. Thanks for the clarification? Did anyone else see a reduced price now that BFC isn't doing manuals? I thought I paid full price. Weird.
  18. It's 12 pages. Mostly credits and how to install the game. It's not the PDF manual. Pretty underhanded on BFC's part, there was no mention made that the physical "manual" would be any different.
  19. Yeah this is cool. Thanks for the heads up, Nokturnal. Just whipped up a quick inf scenario and it was really easy. Lots of possibilities here.
  20. Even if it fires off it's full load of 76mm over 15 minutes or so?
  21. I haven't been able to create infantry only scenarios with the mission generator yet. It looks like even the "infantry division" unit type has about 50% vehicle slots. You can't select the force composition of the enemy force, either, otherwise I'd simply leave the vehicle slots empty for both sides.
  22. Nevermind. The words used to describe the commands in the tooltips are different than what's listed in the command keys section. Probably borked when translated.
