  1. Beautiful as usual MikeyD, thanks for your continuous upgrading of the CM series!! Steve-o
  2. Sweet, thanks for the info steve-o
  3. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk35/SDSmack/CMShockForce2008-10-0723-08-59-97.jpg So anyone else have this happen to them? I went into the editor and was playing around and decided to place some bunkers on the map. When i went to deploy them they were floating in the air! I could place them on the map but they would stay in the air. Once I gave them a facing command they dropped to the ground. I did a test run and played a battle and when I was in the set up phase their they were hovering above the battlefield. Again giving them a facing command would bring them back to the ground. So I left them in the air. As soon as I hit the GO button they came back to the ground. So anyone else? steve-o
  4. Cool thanks! Your right it's not Syria, but hey, it's a start!! appreciate it steve-o
  5. Im having trouble finding the strategic map to put in my briefings. The manual says to use the map that ships with the game, cool where is it? Do they mean to export a map from an already made scenario? I could do that but all the maps seem to have a box on the image denoting where the tactical map will detail. Anyway if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great! (please) Thanks in advance steve-o
  6. I had the same problem. I chose to go through the mountains and so went left. Made my way there and finished with a tactical victory. Then went to obj pooh and hwy 3. So i went back and tried again, same result. Then i went back and immediately had a cease fire and got a tactical defeat and again went to obj pooh... Anyone have any luck gettting to the mountains? steve-o
  7. Are you guys sure that he isn't saying "In the box"? Hard for me to tell. But pop makes no since to me. Just a guess! steve-o
  8. Agreed! I dont think there is another game company out there that can even compare with battlefront and their ability to get the look and feel right. Maybe Steel Beast, I dont know I've never played it, but most of the games Ive played outside of CMx cant compare. keep up the good work BFC!!! steve-o
  9. Well not sure how the Air Force does it. If they allow them to continue to fly then that wouldn't be a bad gig. Just another really expensive toy to play with. As for the Army, it's an actual MOS. Haven't heard of anyone being involuntarily transfered to UAVs but I guess anything is possible. Steve
  10. Man, that must suck! I imagine some took that job voluntarily (why I don't know) but I bet some didn't get a choice. Steve
  11. yea dont think the hind is anywhere to be found on google earth. not sure if it ever actually on google earth but we had a good look to try and find it. my buddy said it was placed out in the trees to hide it from coalition forces to prevent its destruction. as for my buddy, he is a blackhawk pilot and was in iraq in 2005-2006 range. he is now flies C-12s in korea steve
  12. hey the Fighting Seabee so this is completely random and unrelated to the scenario but in the picture preview for this scenario at CMMODS there was at one time a Hind in the trees to the west of the road. a buddy of mine flew around that area quite often and saw the helo. but unfortunately we scoured over google earth and couldnt find it. just random trivia. looking forward to taking on "The Curve" steve
  13. yea they do use the Steyr AUG and we will need some meatier tires on the LAVs.....but until we can actually change the files i guess we will have to pretend steve
  14. NICE DUDE!!!!! thats awesome, now we really need the marine module so we can get some ASLAVs!! Steve
  15. Well as we all know the next module is in the works in one way or the other. Water and bridges, or I guess the lack there of, have been brought up in other threads as things that should/could/would be nice have. So if BFC decides to add water and bridges in the next module, will vehicles be able to interact with these new environment tiles? It would be nice to see amphibious vehicles chugging through the water as well as vehicles being able to wade through shallow water. Also if vehicles are able to interact would they be able to interact negatively? By this I mean say an IED explodes near a HMMWV and the driver panics. The driver then slams the vehicle in reverse and back into a canal causing it to sink and also causing casualties/loss of equipment. I don’t know just an idea, not sure that the engine can handle that or not. Steve
  16. Hey M1A1, try www.militaryphotos.net lots of really good pics of all stuff military. look forward to seeing what your next mod is! steve
  17. Sweet, sweet, SWEET, SWEET!!!! and a little more sweetness!! Sweet steve
  18. woops in my haste I failed to see the top of the page where Madmatt has posted some comments about the 1.05 patch..oops aka_tom_w thanks for the response! Steve
  19. So, after running jumping up and down, I realized that this was a "preview" of the patch and not the patch itself. Which brings up the question, if is there more cool graphics that are added/fixed in this patch or was it mostly know bugs that were adressed? Patiently (albeit out of breath) waiting for the patch Steve
  20. Hey Tiny_Tanker you have a great point there. The problem is that the airspace has to be deconflicted so routes inevitably become the norm. Plus the front line is not moving so helicopters have to fly from the same bases to the same hot spots and with that comes some unfortunate predictability. yup MikeyD its dead! Steve
  21. So to say that this is a problem of short term memory in my mind is correct. For example: during Operation Lam Son 719 in Vietnam/Laos the US flew over 300,000 hours in a 45-50 day period. The operation lasted from February to March. In that time 197 helicopters were shot down. In Iraq this year alone there have been approximately 12 helicopters that have been shot down or had "hard landings". Quite a small number considering the use these helicopters are getting. Air Assault is still a viable option in warfare today, but the idea sending UH-60s or CH-47s in by themselves is completely absurd. Any air assault would be accompanied by not only AH-64 gunships but also OH-58D/ARH-70s providing a screening force, plus CAS, plus artillery. The ideas being to suppress the enemy until the troops are on the ground and helos out of the area. Steve
  22. DUDE! You rock man, thats awesome and its only primer grey! steve
  23. Yea i still like the idea of pushing around micro armor but its a little more time consuming. but the options are endless
  24. Hey Sgt Popov did you get that over at www.ghqmodels.com?
  25. LOL!!! Very true MikeyD very true. I didn’t realize that Drop Team allowed that, that’s cool. As for my other point you are absolutely right dan/california. I guess what I should have said was is there some sort of value that each of your vehicles has and as the operation/campaign goes on does the vehicle ware more and have a higher likelihood of breaking down? Are your vehicles considered brand new at the beginning of a campaign? Lord knows there are very few new items in the army today, mostly stuff that has been maintained over the years. steve
