  1. WEGO is still the only way to play for me. Not a problem though since CMSF has both. Although with small (platoon level with a tank or two) scenarios I would play RT as well.
  2. I like CM:AK and CM:BB better then CM:SF at the moment. Probably always will, at least till the WWII iteration of CMX2 comes along. It's not the game system itself, which I think BF will get the bugs out in the next couple patches, there is just something lacking in the situation or the presentation. I can't define what that something is, but when I get done playing a CM:SF scenario I'm not ready to play again, when I get done a CM:AK scenario I'm looking for the next one right away.
  3. I have not seen one of my snipers fire, but I have been the recipient of sniper fire.
  4. I would be interested, I'm not expecting one, but I would be interested.
  5. > This game is highly playable RIGHT now I'm glad you think so, personally I find it hard to play a game that crashes every time I try. (I do expect the 1.02 patch will go a long way toward fixing the crashes though)
  6. > when people gets used to new UI, and some features are polished (UI shortcuts, pathfinding & tacAI) & bugs solved, gradually people will move towards RT I never will, one of my favorite parts of CM is watching the replays from different vantage points, RT holds no interest for me at all.
  7. > As a human would naturally take the high ground with the M1s and then it turns into a complete slaughter I took the high ground and still got slaughtered. The Syrian reinforcements appeared about 100 Meters away from my tanks and shot first. If the Syrian reinforcements are time based, wait till they appear and THEN move forward. M1 firing at range takes them out easy.
  8. Generally I have no trouble with the camera, only two specific problems. 1 - I can't get it to move off the map (which makes it hard to see the whole map from up high) 2 - I wish it would keep the selected unit in view when raising the view height. There may be ways to make this happen, I have not read the manual yet, but then I expect this to be intuitive - just like the old CM1 was.
  9. I'm not selling my copy. If the other CMx2 engine games keep the same interface I am happy with it, I would be happier if there were TCPIP support for WEGO, but that is not enough for me to drop the series. I'm only spouting my opinion about liking wego versus RT in the hope that it gets heard for the next iteration of the engine.
  10. > Which is a lot less of a problem than not having WeGo at all. For me, persoanally, having wego without the ability to to replay the action is a marginal improvement at best. I do not enjoy top down strategy games on computer, for that I have board wargames. I do understand that YMMV. > I don't understand, why it is such a problem for the WEGO-TCP/IP lobbyists, to use an instant messenger I hate IM personally and nerver load them, it is also not a seemless way to play the game like the original CMx1 had. That said I plan to do something just like this, without IM if possible.
  11. > think an acceptable compromise would be to have RTS with mandatory pauses every 60 seconds. It still would not work for larger missions with multiple hotspots. The player would be forced to either watch from the God level view (in which case all the graphical goodness of the game is wasted) or they are going to miss important details.
  12. Getting rid of that third swap is great! I have not had time to play a game by email yet so I have not noticed - but it would have been one of the things I would put tops on my list to check.
  13. Wow - that is worse then what I had happen. I was just commenting on poor scenario design. Getting to the objective and then having enemy reinforcements pop up real close with no way of intercepting them on the way... That teleport bug would be kind of funny, if were not for the annoying bit of ruining a game...
  14. I was playing the tank scenario (Alah's fist or something like that) and was doing well, till what appeared to be a company of enemy tanks just appeared within 100 meters of my units. That is really, really, annoying. This has happened before in CMAK, but I don't ever remember this happening with one of the scenarios supplied with the game before.
  15. If you do add in TCP/IP WEGO please allow it to be rewindable. One of the things I love best about the CM series is the ability to view the battle from different viewpoints. The lack of this feature means I'll be sticking to PBEM for now.
